As someone who eats halal food, I was quite excited to try out some halal Chinese. With that being said, though we got seated quickly, their quality of service quickly deteriorated and I was left with the worst experience I've had at a restaurant in my life. The waitresses were impersonal, and seemed to only want to fill our glasses with water or take our orders. Otherwise, not once did they come around to ask us if everything was going alright, or if we needed anything. The food was mediocre at best, and definitely did not seem Chinese. I get better Chinese at Panda Express and better service, and its take out. We ordered the chow mein, expecting noodles (like Chow Mein that you get EVERYWHERE ELSE). Instead, we were presented with a dish that was basically dried out and crunchy noodles, very much unlike Chow Mein. When it came time to pay, with the service being not up to par with what I receive at other restaurants, and the fact that I am a college student with lots of expenses to pay, I tipped by rounding up to the next dollar (which is quite common in fact). As we were leaving the restaurant, we were ambushed by the manager quite rudely, who questioned us as to why we were so stingy and why we didn't tip more. His tone was very accusing and seemed to imply that we OWED him money. He told us that his waitresses work hard to earn their pay and that most of it comes from tips. It is not the customer's responsibility to pay his workers. That is his. Customers are not required to tip, though it is a courtesy. I understand that my tip was quite low. However, to ambush me and to question my intentions was beyond the manager's boundary. I felt attacked and as if he tried to make me feel guilty. If that's the message that the management want to portray to their customers, then they are fulfilling their goal. I will be telling all my friends and family members about this experience. To anyone considering going here, let me spare you the trouble of wasting your money and the terrible experience by advising you go to Haiku, Panda Express, or somewhere else.\r more

Horrible Food - Dinner Take out 9/11/2011

I had been to Bamboo garden for lunch before and had good experience a few years ago. I had family visiting from India and tonight we ordered some food to go and the food was horrible. We ordered garlic pepper chicken and chill shrimp. It seemed as if the food had been prepared in a great rush even when we had been told it will take 20 mins. The garlic pepper chicken had no flavor. Seemed like it was quickly put together with some sauce and mixed in hot water. The chicken pieces were not cooked properly. more

They have hired baggers in place of Waiters , who ask and fo 8/2/2011

I visited Inchin's Bamboo Garden at Redmond for dinner at 9 pm on August 1st 2011. We were 4 and our bill was $52.53, I have paid the bill in full and went out. To my surprise, one waiter came running behind me with the bill and asked me to give Tip, I told I have paid my complete bill and I am not feeling like giving any tip at this time. He started forcing me to give him tip. I was shocked by this act of him and decided not to give any tip, he started abusing me saying you are so cheap. I was so upset by his act that I was planning to call the police and settle the matter but was in really hurry so left. In my entire life of 30 years , I have never encountered a waiter who is bagging for the Tip. I have been to Inchin many time with bigger group and given $10 -$15 tips on top of the already added tip, so it all depend on the individual whether he/she wanted to give any tip how can you bag for it. Please careful about such baggers. ~Manoj more

Bad service, good food 5/15/2011

Their service was bad... no body attended to us for few minutes when we arrived (the bartender was busily working on her stuff, not even raising her head). No water service unless we asked for it. Regarding the food, their hakka noodles was good, the chicken fried rice that came with the lunch bowl was also good, but the chicken curry that I chose: Schezuan chicken (which the server said is the spiciest item, but wasn't good). Worst item of the night was: American Chopsuey (with chicken)... was really sweet and we left almost all of the item. Their Chicken 65 was however great. more

Average Food, Below Average Service 10/6/2009

We go there once in two months or so as we like to savor indo chinese food. But everytime we go there, they remind us that service can be much better. Food can be cooked better. Food and service seems to be going down hill since they started. Pros: Only Indo Chinese food in the seattle area Cons: Everything Else more

Good food. A little too oily. Service can improve 7/22/2009

Service was slow the two days we ate here but it is also because there are many tables to be waited by the folks there. The food tastes good and is authentic Indo-Chinese food. I can vouch for that. But the food is a little too oily to savour. Take a tissue with you and absorb the oil before you eat. I liked their lat maai paneer and the fried baby corn. The garlic noodles is good too. Stay away from the veggie coins! Pros: Food, Parking Cons: Service, Too oily more

DON'T GO - POOR SERVICE RUDE BEHAVIOUR LESS THAN AVERAGE FOOD 4/14/2008

No Idea why people throng this place. Poor food which is no close to the indo chinese fair you want to expect. The service is awful and rude as if they are doing a favor in serving you. The wait time was more than 1 hr after I ordered the food and even then they said it will take time. The waitress looked at me as if I committed crime asking where my food is and the attitude was damn care. Cons: SERVICE FOOD BEHAVIOR more

A disappointment. 3/11/2008

A really disappointing lunch. I visited with two friends, and we all had different dishes (Crispy Chicken Chili Honey, Diced Chicken Hot Garlic, and Szechwan Chicken) but the same comments: the food is incredibly bland, too saucy (they serve their dishes in bowls - I assume this is what they mean by ""Indian style"" - so anything that may have been crispy in the kitchen turns to mush by the time it gets to your table), and the service was poor. Our waiter never checked back with us and we had to wave down someone for our check, despite the fact that there were only 4 tables of customers. Pros: Plenty of seating. Cons: Flavorless dishes, poor service. more

Average Indo-Chinese food 2/17/2008

Like the title says- its average fare. But then again, there arent many Indo-Chinese places around, so my options are limited! :( Pros: Only Indo-Chinese food in a radius of 100 miles? Cons: Oily food, Sub-par service more

Great Food, Great Service, Seriously Hot 6/26/2007

I read a bunch of reviews about Inchin's that I found discouraging, but a bunch of my Indian co-workers recommended it, and they hadn't steered me wrong in the past. Still, I was surprised that all of the reviews seemed to be exactly opposite my experience. Service was ""jonny-on-the-spot"", portions were good, the food was well prepared and tasty, and the prices weren't unreasonable. Additionally, the atmosphere was very nice. Pros: Good food, good service, good value, nice atmosphere Cons: it's not traditional chinese, be careful what you expect more

Greasy, heavy food 6/12/2007

We tried several dishes, Vegetarian Coin Manchurian, spicy green beans and peas appetizer, and egg drop and hot and sour soups. Everything was so greasy and heavy. Egg drop soup was too salty. We won't go back. The place is hip with younger Indian Microsoft crowd that know little about food. The food is neither Chinese nor Indian, neither delicious nor healthy. Pros: New restaurant Cons: Heavy, greasy food more

Great chinese food but ... 6/7/2007

My family loves the food at Bamboo gardens and we eat here often, mostly take out. I have never had a problem with the quality or taste of the food but i have to agree with some of the customers that the portion size is just too small for the price. Even restaurants charging $7 for their entrees have bigger portion. They will loose a lot of customers if they do not change this. We would eat here a lot more if the portion sizes were not so small. Pros: Tasty indo chinese food Cons: very small portion size more

Oily, Undercooked food 6/2/2007

We have tried only vegetarian food. All the food - appetizers and entrees tend to be very oily. We like the sweet corn soup, but most times its served cold - so remember to ask for hot soup. The baby corn appetizer is the only one we liked. The other appetizers we tried were very oily. Rice, noodles were oily and undercooked. The sauces are very oily too. Everything tends to be very spicy so remember to ask them to tone it down. more
