good vegie options 6/19/2008

Very cute place with quirky, charming staff. My boyfriend and I were both pleased by the number of vegetarian options, and by the reasonable prices. We both got pasta dishes (me rigatoni with hearty artichoke and spinach tomato sauce, him vegetarian lasagna), that were clearly homemade and very tasty. We also shared a bottle of wine, which was not marked up outrageously like most of restaurant wine (we got a $20 bottle, but there was one on the menu for $14...). Also, there are plenty of options for meat lovers too, so this is not just for vegies! Overall great value and fun experience. Pros: independently run Cons: we walked from home, but imagine parking would be a pain. more

Great Family Pizza Place 7/4/2007

Good pizza with high quality toppings served by the slice or the whole pie. Great place to take the family. There is a play area with kids toys in the front that my kids love. I wish they delivered! more

Small with great pizza 4/3/2007

I'm always afraid of trying new pizza joints, but I was pleasantly surprised. Great Italian Sausage and green olive pizza. We've been back many times and will continue to go back. Pros: Great Pizza more

Possibly best thin crust in Seattle.... 8/26/2006

Just moved to Seattle a year ago, and have not found much in the way of great pizza. Tried Il Forno for the first time today, and I'm pretty impressed!\r No fluffy, tasteless crust here...nice and thin with a great hint of garlic. I'll be coming here for my thin crust in the future....and Delfino's for deep dish/stuffed!\r Fairly pricey, but not too bad. Well worth the few extra dollars for the quality. \r \r Pros: Great pizza, owner very nice Cons: Parking...price. more

Superb 12/5/2005

After living in the neighborhood for 7 months, I finally decided to give this place a try. It may not look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you. The pizza here was some of the best I've ever had... definitely the best I've had since I've moved to Seattle. The ingredients are top notch and the staff is friendly. I'm definitely going here from now on and avoiding pagliacci's. Give this place a try if you're looking for something a lot better than your standard pizza. Pros: pizza, not crowded, friendly staff Cons: parking, no lunch hours more

Great, authentic pizza 10/11/2005

It's hard to find some real pizza nowadays. Pagliacci's is too oily and greasy, and Dominoes focuses more on crust. Il Forno is great because the crust is thin (the way it should be) and has the right amount of herbs and toppings that will make your mouth savor every bite. The pizza isn't as greasy as most out there. A medium two-topping pizza can be about $15. They always have ""discounts"" going on so ask about that. The prices are a little higher than the American chain pizzas but you're getting the highest quality ingredients. I also recommend the gorgonzola salad. I'm surprised the place isn't packed, because it's a great place to hang out. The location is rather odd too. Good luck finding parking. Pros: Great pizza, No wait for table, friendly Cons: parking, location, above avg price more

Newest Hot Spot on Capital Hill For Pizza! 5/8/2005

I recently heard that Il Forno Pizzaria on E. Olive Wy. has a new owner he is Chef Dayne Caudill. He recieved his Chef's Diploma from North Seattle Community College. My wife and I started out with a salad. My wife had the Caesar. The cheese was fresh grated not the processed stuff. I had the Gorganzola salad and it was fabulous!.We had a hard time deciding on what to have. There was a wide range of pizzas, salads and pastas. We ordered the Il Formo Combo pizza minus the green peppers. (special orders are not a problem!) The dough, Dayne told me, was all organic.sauce (a secret) was fabulous! Just enough bite and very flavorful. The ingredients were all fresh and tasty and cooked just right. It also has a little deck out front. highly recommend it and I'm a very picky eater. Five darn stars! Pros: Damn good food, cozy atmosphere, friendly people Cons: parking is tough more

this ain't doninos people! 11/28/2004

To truly enjoy this pizzaria, you have to come in, sit down and soak in the cozy warm ambiance while smelling the fragrant aromas of this cute boutique space. Calzones, salads and some pastas are on the menu, but come for the pizza. The sauce is a family recipe, aromatic and lovely. Be sure to ask for extra. If you have a chance, start with their soul warming tomato basil soup then to one of their specialty pizzas, perhaps with something off the small wine menu. This place can be romantic in the late evening when the lights are low and I would not recomend this place for kids in general. For those having delivery, remember this is not dominos. The pizza is much more spendy than your average cookie cutter joint, and please allow more time for delivery. Pros: pizza, ambiance more
