Expensive, Mediocre Sushi 9/13/2010

I LOVE sushi. I don't mind spending money on sushi, as long as the fish is fresh and high quality. I Love Sushi is just average to me. I usually get nigiri and sushi rolls, and have tried their udon a few times. The udon is terribly bland compared to what I've had at other restaurants. The nigiri is just average. The sushi rolls are actually pretty tasty though. more

Warning! going down hill - poor quality 6/17/2009

Had lunch with a client there 6/16/09. I ordered Chirashi Special. I ended up with some serious food poisXXning with nausea, fever, chill, abdominal cramping, and diarXrhea. This place used to be quality. NOw, it is runned by snobby Japanese Chefs that don't wash their hands. 2 people in my same table had diarrheaX. Service was slowed. I am still suffering from cramping eating there. This place should be avoided. The reviews here are not up to date. Cons: fever, nausea, vomitingx, abdominal cramping, and diarXrhea more

One of the best sushi places in Seattle 9/1/2008

This restaurant is one of the best sushi restaurants in Bellevue area. Both the rolls and entrees are excellent. I'd suggest SpiderRolls and ChickenKatsu; very crispy and tender. Get their green tea ice creams if you still have enough room in your stomach for desserts; it's super good. No problem finding a parking. The service was great and atmosphere inside was nice. In the summer when it's still bright at night, you can see a lake outside the restaurant even though it doesn't look too nice. The food was pricey. more

Can't go wrong! 11/6/2007

Their food is always good, always fresh. Don't think I've had a bad experience there before. The menu is somewhat pricey, but the sushi's all worth it. more

I Love Sushi- The best sushi in Bellevue or Seattle 10/1/2007

I have been going to "I Love Sushi" from the first day they opened their doors. I can say they have been consistant each time I visit. It is the best. I am never disappointed, fish is always the freshest, tempura is perfect each time. Service is wonderful, luch is as good as dinner they understand the time people have for lunch but the food does not suffer from the pressure to get you back to the office. The only place that can out do "I Love Sushi" is a place in Honolulu. I would not even bother to experiment with another sushi place. Why bother when you have the best there is. Pros: Great service, fresh fresh fresh fish, friendly Cons: can't get enough more

Best sushi on the Eastside 9/22/2007

The Lake Bellevue incarnation of I Love Sushi combines the best sushi on the Eastside with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. We've done an exhaustive sampling of Eastside sushi restaurants over the last year and I Love Sushi is the one we keep coming back to. There are a couple of slightly better places to go in Seattle proper, but even against powerhouses like Nishino, the Lake Bellevue I Love Sushi holds its own. (Not to be confused with the inferior I Love Sushi directly off of NE 8th St.) The fish itself is fresh and the rice is never too sweet or gummy. There's also a full-service Japanese kitchen (from which we've tried some unusual and delicious dishes) and a full bar as well. My personal favorite is the Lobster Roll, while my wife likes the Paradise Roll, featuring four different colors and flavors of roe. Try also the hand rolls (not on the menu, but they can make anything you can dream up.) This place can get busy, so we always make reservations. On a nice night, consider sitting out on the lakefront patio. Very friendly, unrushed service. Highly recommended. more

Fresh, Exquisite 7/16/2007

Oh! We found him! The chef who left Kukiyuas when they changed ownership over there, is the chef at the newer section of this I Love Sushi restaurant! No wonder the taste is outstanding and mouth-watering here! The service is efficient and attentive. The food is one of the best in the NW for sushi, because these are real Japanese sushi chefs. You may sit on the patio on a nice warm evening or sit inside the restaurant. Either way, the ambience is relaxing. You get a nice view of the man-made pond this place shares with the condos and other businesses in this complex. I suggest you make reservations though because this place is bustling. Pros: Quality Japanese Sushi Cons: Can be expensive depending on your pt. of view more

This is the best sushi in town 3/14/2007

This is a great place to eat, if you get there early. On Fridays and weekends make sure you get there before 5:30 or make reservations. They tend to fill up fast, with waits around 45 minutes. Once you are seated the service is excellent with great hospitality. The service is speedy quick and when you come or leave the chefs at the sushi bar greets you warmly. Try the caterpillar roll!! more
