Review content:
The Lake Bellevue incarnation of I Love Sushi combines the best sushi on the Eastside with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
We've done an exhaustive sampling of Eastside sushi restaurants over the last year and I Love Sushi is the one we keep coming back to. There are a couple of slightly better places to go in Seattle proper, but even against powerhouses like Nishino, the Lake Bellevue I Love Sushi holds its own. (Not to be confused with the inferior I Love Sushi directly off of NE 8th St.)
The fish itself is fresh and the rice is never too sweet or gummy. There's also a full-service Japanese kitchen (from which we've tried some unusual and delicious dishes) and a full bar as well.
My personal favorite is the Lobster Roll, while my wife likes the Paradise Roll, featuring four different colors and flavors of roe. Try also the hand rolls (not on the menu, but they can make anything you can dream up.)
This place can get busy, so we always make reservations. On a nice night, consider sitting out on the lakefront patio. Very friendly, unrushed service. Highly recommended.
