While visiting my Grandparents over the weekend I was shocked at a customer service story they shared with me. Being as I work in a business that our customer service is TOP priority I was completely appalled to hear of a local business treating a customer with such distaste & unprofessionalism. In attempting to order a specific item needed they were prompted to pay up front, which typically is not a problem. However, the last time they had special ordered something through House of Vacuums after paying up front promises of a specific backorder date were broken once a week for 6 months, Not wanting to relive this particular fate they opted to have them order it with a promise of a phone call once in & they would pick up and pay at the same time. After 6 weeks of waiting on for their special order they entered the store to check on the B/O of the item. They were told that the House of Vacuums sold the remaining stock to another source and they would not Sell to my Grandparents until payment is given before hand, My Grandfather insisted he would pay when the item was in stock but if they could not work with him he'd have to find another Business who could. Instead of seeing this as an oppotunity to bring business in the on site manager told them that he would not order the stock, and they did not want their business. I may be biased but in Customer Service or Sales for that matter the point is to bring in business not turn them away. If House of Vacuums had gone the extra yard Im sure that not only would my Grandparents refer their business whole heartedly but they themselves would of NEVER have gone anywhere else for their vacuum or carpet cleaning needs. In my opinion I would never purchase or recommend someone to invest their time or money into a company that doesnt take the time to invest themselves in their customers.
Cons: Unprofessional
