As a newcomer from a much larger city, I wanted to check out what the city has to offer in Jazz. So, along with a few friends, we ventured to the House of Jazz. To our dismay, we had to pay a cover charge to get in even though we were planning to dine there. The tables are very close together and food prices are a little high, especially after paying a cover charge ($10 per person). My advise to the management is that if customers are dining at the establishment, then they should not be charged a cover charge. Now sure who the target market is but it seems as if they are not catering to those over 40. Four women (in their 50's with money) came as we were leaving who wanted to dine there; but, when told they had to pay an additional $10 per person, they left. Also, the Riesling and Moscato wines were terrible, especially for the price of $7 and up per glass. Barefoot, seriously?? The martini's aren't bad though (~$11). Personally, I will not be frequenting this venue until the management has made some changes.
Pros: Nice Atmosphere, parking lot
Cons: Cover charge, menu prices, awful wines
