Best

This is usualy where all of the larger acts go.I have seen so many great bands perform here.Sometimes its a nice place to go but I do perfer The Social. The service is pretty good....

Worst

I just heard about a concert coming to HOB and wanted to take my toddler because he loves the band (Ralph's World). I of course assumed that he would need at ticket at 2 years old...

Perfect Concert Venue 4/24/2011

If your favorite band happens to be playing here, consider yourself very lucky and get tickes quickly. It is very small for a concert venue so there is not a bad seat in the house an it is all general admission. Do get there very, however, because some seats are better than others, make sure you can get down below. more

CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!!!!!! 3/20/2011

This place is a scam. Take it for what it is - all of those who rated this place anymore than a 1 star were lucky they weren't picked out to be scammed. I went there on Vacation - my mother has a timeshare - and we went out to Pleasure Island one night. I was having a good time and got set up. The security guards kept telling us we should go to House of Blues. We went; the manager ( didn't know at the time) was an ass. After paying to get in - he had us aggressively pushed out of there and then I got jumped by 4 UNDERCOVER police officers that never told me they were cops. I am a young woman in my 20's never been arrested and no criminal record. I was arrested for TRESPASSING (never went on the property again after being pushed out), RESISTING ARREST WITHOUT VIOLENCE! (never was told it was a police officer who was telling me to come to him when i screamed that this place was bogus) and DISORDERLY CONDUCT (their reason is that I was drunk. Was never given a breathilizer or alcohol tests and I remember everything!!) To make things worse, it just so happens the house of blues "LOST" the video tape of me getting pushed down by 4 "cops". I was covered with bruises and cuts!!! I have been victimized and it has been a nightmare ever since. I spent the night in jail where there phones wouldn't let me call out to call anyone, the police wouldn't tell my boyfriend where I was and warned him to get away of he would get arrested as well, I was searched head to toe, stripped down to nothing, wasn't told anything that was going to happen, and treated like crap. When my mother went to Pleasure Island to find out where I was the security officer stated that he ran my record and saw that I had no prior record. THIS IS A SCAM...BECAREFUL! ITS BEEN A NIGHTMARE - I'm out thousands of dollars, having a hard time getting a job because when my name is searched my mugshot is the first thing that comes up, and I have seriously been traumatized from it...it's too bad that Disney allows this to take place on their property. I know this seems like there has got to be more to this story...but do some research, these charges happen all the time!!! BECAREFUL!!! more

Over crowded and terrible security 1/15/2011

I saw CAKE tonight at HOB. It was incredibly overcrowded and extremely hot. The place has a dank appearance and feel, it's not classy like the hard rock at universal. It definitely needs a makeover to compliment the other shops at Disney. The upside was the sound, it was awesome, however the security guards were wieners. All in all I don't think I'll go back to HOB unless Bob Marley or The Beatles are playing, which is highly unlikely. more

This venue verpriced, too big, and too big for it's britches 12/16/2010

Wow, is it me or have the prices for HOB go up over the past couple of years? And even when advertised price is seemingly reasonable, you still end up paying a lot more after the venue hits you with all the hidden extra charges. Even for tickets purchased at the venue's own box office weeks in advance. The girls selling beer to the people standing in line are the only HOB staffers who are not indifferent and downright rude. All patrons are treated like dirt because the venue is the only somewhat decent music venue of it's size in the area. So no matter how many people get alienated by the staff, more will always show up and pay through the nose for the pleasure of standing in line for hours, waiting an extra hour in the hot sun or freezing rain because doors never open on time. If the band puts you on the guest list, you get treated like dirt too. To the HOB staff ALL music fans are created equally unworthy of basic manners and basic human kindness. more

Horrible Management and staff!!! 7/21/2010

Okay so im posting this to warn everyone about the Orlando house of Blues security. Last Monday i attended the Smashing Pumpkins show at the house of blues with my girlfriend. Im 22 and she is 20 and i went to the bar and bought myself a beer. I went back to her in the crowd and we met some people and i got a little buzz going. Then i let her hold my beer while i went to use the restroom. When i came out and went back to where i was in the crowd the people we had met told me some lady took her outside for holding my beer. So i quickly got to the front door and told security i needed to leave and find my girlfriend because they just threw her out. He told me i had to go out the back way. When i got out there i saw my girlfriend having an intense argument with that lady and i asked the people that were standing around what exactly happened. at that moment a large man approached me being very aggressive and telling me i needed to the f*** get out of here. i tried to explain that we drove 5 hours just to be here and she wasnt drinking she was just doing me a favor and holding it while i took a piss. our argument went for maybe another 2 minutes and that point he grabbed me and threw me to the ground and got on top of me. then a cop came around the corner and automatically arrested me! the lady claimed that my girlfriend had hit her so they are charging her with trespassing after warning & battery and they are charging me with trespassing after warning. They rob you of your money and then throw you on the ground and have you arrested. Pros: none Cons: alot more

Awful Staff and Customer Service, Horrible Security 10/31/2009

The House of Blues in Orlando was the worst venue I've ever experienced in all of about 30 shows I've seen in my life. I've been to two shows at this venue (Britney Spears, and most recently The Used), and though the bands and artists rocked the house, the AWFUL staff ruined the entire experience by lying and deceiving fans. At one point, in the pit, I busted my lip bleeding everywhere, the rude security through me into a locked room after pulling me out from the pit (I had no part in a fight, it was an accident by a rude concert-goer's elbow). Then dragging me to a corner, shone a flighlight into my mouth and declaring "it's not that bad", and told me to wait upstairs, while carrying towels of blood. Then after every Used concert I've heard about they do an open meet and greet with fans. The band themselves Twittered about letting fans bring cameras an welcomed them to. The venue's policies however, stopped the hospitality by confiscating everything from cameras to sharpie markers. The band was obviously upset, and it shone in their performance. The venue made money off of the fact you had to PAY for this particular meet and greet and only granted 35 passes to it. This was not the band's policy. It was the venue trying to make a quick buck. I will never return to this venue, after being treated so poorly and spoken to in such a condescending way. Pros: Small venue, decor Cons: rude staff, security, policies more

HOB awful customer service 11/28/2007

I was treated so horrible by the HOB ticket office. They are so rude and offensive. I have never seen a more unproffessional disply in my life. I was yelled at and ridiculued by both the employee and the manager while I was inquiring about tickets. I have many shows there but this has put a very bad taste in my mouth about this venue, don't deal with the box office unless you want to be ridiculed for asking a question and yelled at. Go somewhere where they know how to treat customers and run a business. Pros: Ambience and small venue Cons: Horrible staff in the box office more

Crazy Policies!!! 2/27/2007

I just heard about a concert coming to HOB and wanted to take my toddler because he loves the band (Ralph's World). I of course assumed that he would need at ticket at 2 years old. When I went to by the tickets the lady informed me that I would need a ticket for my other child who is ONLY 4 WEEKS OLD. I asked why and she said it was because they need a count of everyone in the building. Therefore, my 4 week old son would need a ticket at the same price as every other person in the building even though he won't have a clue what is going on. We have been to another concert for children recently and they printed out a ticket for the baby, but there was no cost, it was simply for head count. HOB is using the head count excuse as a way to make more money. I will not be attending this event or any other event there. more

Big names in a small venue. 11/24/2006

The House of Blues is a great place to see big name artists in a small, intimate atmosphere. If you get there early you can even stand right next to the stage and see the band up close. Pros: General admission only, can get up close to the band, good sound. Cons: Limited number of tickets available. more

Where's the Chairs? 7/10/2003

I'm only 30 so I'm not crippled yet, however, standing for six hours kills me. Can I have a chair with my concert please? Pros: Awesome sound, Good Viewing Cons: No CHAIRS!!!! more

HOB RULES 2/4/2003

Best place to see live music also a fine place to eat HOB on SUNDAY night has the one and only SIN Night dance to DJ Jimmy Joslin till 3:00AM more

blondie 10/27/2002

HOB Rocks! I like it for concerts because it's not like an auditorium, where most of the seats are so far away from the stage that you need binoculars. There is not a bad "seat" in the house. It isn't far to walk to get a drink, and there is a choice of seating: if you want to be where the action is, you can stand on the dance floor. If you want more room, you can stand next to it. If you want a better view, you can go to the balcony. I also like "SIN" night. It's fun to go with a group of friends, so that some will dance and some will stay by the bar. The only complaint I have is that on those nights, it seems to cater more to men. Pros: small concert hall, setup of building Cons: drink prices, caters more to men more

Great! 7/25/2002

Awesome bands...awesome atmosphere. Great place to go with a group! Pros: Location, Music more

up close 7/25/2002

H.O.B. is a great live music venue, there is no where in the building where you arent up close and personal with the people on stage! Pros: personal atmosphere Cons: not enough good bands more

The Greatest Place on Earth 7/23/2002

The House of Blues is a must see, and be place if your living or visiting the Orlando area. HOB has the best of everything; food, drinks, entertainment and it isdefinitely visually stimulating. Do not pass it up while you are in Downtown Disney. Pros: Artsy, location more

Concerts 7/23/2002

The place is like a museum of art, furniture, the best sound I've ever heard in an intimate setting with the artists just feet away. The bar staff are fast and friendly and the security is impressive but will still joke with you and help out with anything you need. Pros: perfect sound, amazing staff, free parking Cons: standing only more

First Impression Lasts 7/22/2002

This having been the first "live music venue" I'd visited in Orlando, I wasn't sure what to expect. Though it was a bit hard to find, once I arrived I was blown away. The atmosphere and staff were warm and friendly, especially the bartender who humored my request for a "self-styled" drink. Not many places will so happily serve you something not on the menu, or that they do not immediately know how to make. Another deal-breaker was the fact that HoB was handicap accessible, as I was with my sister who uses a wheelchair. The staff happily accomodated her needs as well. The sound system and accoustics were great as well, and the band could be clearly heard even while in the bathrooms to the extreme rear. All in all, my experience there was wonderful, and I definitely plan to return whenever possible. Pros: Handicap Accessible, Great accoustics, Affordable Drinks Cons: Location (Disney), High tables, Slightly crowded more

Live Music- up close! 5/19/2002

This is one of the best places to see one of your favorite bands up close and personal. This is a general admission venue, so get there early, and you can stand in the front if that is what you like. You can see the stage well from every angle so it doesn't really matter where you are. This place is fun also for The Blues brunch!! I loved it- great food, and Blues that you can't help but clap your hand and tap your foot to! Pros: views, acoustics, atmosphere Cons: rushthrubluesbrnch more

  • Center Stage
This multi-level venue has plenty of space to roam about, even during the most crowded shows. The room focuses on the mammoth stage that is elevated just enough so that it can been seen from just about any angle. However, since the main bar located at the back of the facility is usually the only one open, be prepared for a long wait.

    Musical Cross-section
Since the capacity is upwards of 1500, the House of Blues is a popular stop for a huge cross-section of national talent. Shows over the past few years have included The Cramps, Link Wray, De La Soul and Duran Duran. Also, the Orlando music scene is supported by a series of local band nights.

    Who Goes?
As the House of Blues is on Disney property, there will always be an influx of tourists blindly wandering into any show with a "brand name" performer. However, since the bands that play here come from every style and strata of music, the crowd here is what you would expect at any similar venue.
