Hotheadz Salon

I went a few weeks ago and while my stylist was very nice, I'm not likely to return because of the atmosphere. Its simply not a pleasant place to get your hair done. The location is cramped, unorganized, and kinda messy. I have this feeling there isn't somewhere for the stylists to put their things or lunch because there was food sitting out and there is a mini fridge in the room. I'm sure rent in downtown is pretty absurd so I can understand why the space is small but I think with some work they could be a lot more comfortable, trendy and chic. Offering some water or tea or something would have been nice too. As I said the stylist was nice and the reception was prompt with phonecalls etc. but when I spend money on my hair I like to feel a bit pampered. more

I went in using a voucher from Living Social. I was very nervous about finding a new stylist, so I figured Living Social was the way to try out various salons locally. I'm pleased with my highlights and the friendliness of the staff. They had no issues with my voucher and I felt they treated me no differently had I paid full price in store. Thank you for an overall pleasant experience. more

I had previously purchased a voucher from a discount site such as livingsocial and groupon. When I scheduled my appointment on the phone, they seemed less than thrilled that I had a voucher, but they are the ones who listed the voucher on the site. When I arrived, none of the ladies were working on anyone, yet I still had to wait over 30 minutes while they chatted it up with each other. Finally my ""stylist"" (and I use that term loosely), took me to her chair. I explained the style and cut I wanted and she gave no in put. It was a cut I had been using for years but recently having moved to the south, I needed a new, trustworthy stylist. She barely spoke to me the entire time, cut off WAY more than I wanted and it wasn't even close to the style I described. It was a horrible experience. I felt like I was inconveniencing them by being there. And to make matters worse since she cut about 3 more inches off than I wanted, it took forever until I was happy with my hair again. I would NEVER recommend these very unpleasant, talent-less, shrews. more

Conveniently located across the street from the Hilton DeSoto, I was able to walk straight there without breaking a sweat in the summer heat. Judy was so pleasant and professional and PATIENT! I had an idea of what I wanted my hair and makeup to look like for my wedding, and she welcomed pictures and even gave me feedback about what would look best for me. If I liked parts of my hair to look a certain way she created the look without any frustration, but with a smile! I loved the way it came out! Everyone loved my hair! As far as the makeup, she used a special type of makeup that she could color match to my skin tone. It was perfect. It lasted all day, and even the lashes she used, (although it was a little tricky to get them on because they were individually placed) stayed on for two weeks after they were put on! The glue she uses is amazing. Overall, I was VERRY HAPPY WITH Her and If I had to do it again, I would go to Judy. She is a great business owner, treats her customers wonderfully, and patient!!! more

Joan is a true artist! I have had her cut and color my hair now for the second time and her attention to detail and artistic ability, as well as her ability to listen to what I think I want but can never quite verbalize is amazing. The finished product is always exactly what I wanted! She knows hair! She is a perfectionist. And she completely understands the uniqueness of each individual customer and the color and cut that suits them best. I had long hair and decided to cut it. I went from mid-back to shoulder length in a matter of minutes in hair that took me two years to grow out. After a month of short hair and not growing into it, I googled hair extensions in Savannah and Hotheadz off Drayton St. was the first salon to pop up. After speaking to Judy on the phone for atleast 20 minutes I felt comfortable and confident enough to make a consultation appointment to ask any final questions and have my extensions color matched. Once I met her in person, her personality won me over and I couldn't wait for my long hair back! I ordered my extensions through Judy on a Wednesday and got my extensions that Saturday. After two hours in her barber chair, we shared great conversation and I had my long hair back. I was so happy and pleased with the result and outcome of my extensions. You can't even notice that I have them in. They're light weight and very fixable. I can straighten, curl and just let them air dry into a beautiful hairdo. I highly recommend hair extensions from Hotheadz! My husband was very apprehensive in me getting them. He thought I was foolish for spending money on something I didn't need. Once I got home from my hair appointment he had no complaints - so thanks Judy - I feel fabulous again! more

I would recommend HOT HEADZ SALON to anyone! I have very difficult, thick, curly, unmanageable hair. I have had problems finding the right stylist my ENTIRE life. No one has been able to manage my hair and make me happy with the end results until I met Katie. Katie has been doing my hair for the past 6 years and she does an AMAZING job. I trust her so much that most of the time I do not even tell her how I want my hair because I know that I will love what ever she does. I also am very happy with Hot Headz Salon. Judy (the owner) always goes out of her way to make sure her clients are comfortable and happy with the end result. Every time I am in there I ask a million questions because they are always putting in the latest hair trends (hair jewelz, feathers, etc. ) and it is exciting to watch the before and after while I am getting my hair done. The other stylist are so nice and welcoming that you feel at home when you walk in the door. No matter what type of hair you have or the type of style you are wanting, HOT HEADZ SALON is the place for you!!!! more

I was looking for a salon that could put in human hair extentions and found HOt Headz online. It is in the center of Savannahs historic district and easy to find. Joan put my extentions in using a tape method, that is not only painless but hard to detect. The results are fantastic and I receive many compliments on my hair. I have also had coloring done to my roots and Joan did a flawless job. My only regret is that I did not do this earlier. The costs were reasonable. I highly recommend this salon if you want a celebrity look !!! They are down to earth good folks.. more

Having lived in NY City, Houston, Atlanta, and Los Angeles I was sure I would get a less than decent hair cut in Savannah. I was ""DEAD"" wrong!!! A friend suggested Judy Mullen. From that first day 14 years ago I have been thrilled with her work , personality and proffesionalism. At 66 years old I am not going to be considered a "" Hottie""... but I have consistantly gotten favorable comments on my hair cuts. Just a good indication that I am in the right hands. I would not hesitate to recommend her salon and staff to anyone. more

I was referred to the salon by my wedding planner after a horrible experience at another salon. Judy made room for us in the schedule last minute and I could not be more pleased with the results. The ladies of Hot Headz are such artists! The atmosphere was laid back and fun and they took the time to listen to each of the 7 women who were in my wedding and really gave them each exactly what they wanted. more

I chose this salon because of the reviews on the internet. I am so happy I did. Joan is awesome. She is easy to talk to and listens to what you want done to your hair. The salon is laid back and comfortable. Just a cool place to get your hair done without the snobbish attitude from so many other salons... Highly reccomended!!! more

Chyrel has been doing my hair for many years! She knows exactly what she is doing and if you have hair like me she can take care of it! I have naturally curly hair that is very uncooperative least to me. Chyrel makes it so easy for my hair. more

I selected Hot Headz based on the reviews here. I found Katie and Judy to be very professional. They answered all my questions, and took the time to make sure I understood exactly what I was going to get and how to take care of it. I have never had extensions, and found the entire experience to be fun and exciting. Katie and Judy both took lots of time and energy with me, you can tell these ladies enjoy what they do and take pride in the outcome. I watched quite a few customers come through the salon while I was there (extensions take a long time) and saw that everybody was treated with care and courtesy. One of the things that made this salon experience so enjoyable is the true pleasure these ladies bring to their profession, and the skill and knowledge they apply makes the outcome outstanding. Plus, not the standard nasty, gossipy talk I've come to expect at hairdressers. Katie and Judy are awesome, more like hair artists than stylists. Every bit of my experience was enjoyable, I am even looking forward to my next visit. more

I have been going to Judy Mullins for almost 12 years and have never had the same results anywhere else. This chick knows what she's doing!!!!! I have to admit I have been other places but only to return to Judy @ ""Hot Headz"" to fix me back! The conversation is always fun too!! more

I have lived in Savannah for a long time.. I have been to so many salons trying to find the perfect stylist. I have never completely happy with the service I have had except for at one salon, but this salon does not do extensions.. Yesterday, I went to Hot Headz based on the reviews on this website.. I am so glad I chose to go there. I have been wanting hair extensions for a while, and I did a great deal of research on where to go, and what kind I should get. As soon as I talked to Judy, I knew this was the place was for me. She spent almost 7 hours with me yesterday doing my hair.. Not once did she stop working on me.. She even stayed after the salon closed just to straighten and curl my extensions.. It is nice to find someone who is so sweet and so dedicated to their clients... My extensions are far more beautiful than I even imagined they would be. I have found a new salon that I plan to go back to for a long time. more

Don't believe the hype from most of these reviews, unfortunately that is what brought me into this salon! The bottom line is this place lacks talent, class, and education. If you love your hair don't trust this salon to even get near you!!! more

After going to school for a year here at SCAD, I figured it was well overdue to get another hair cut. Not only that, but I wanted to get a piece of my hair pink for breast cancer awareness month. After calling all over town, I was told to go to Hot Headz. I definitely made the right decision. Everyone there was so nice and helpful. Heather cut my hair and added the pink extensions. The cut turned out better than I expected. It was a great atmosphere. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will definitely go back to get my hair cut there again. more
