They charge too much and have a lot of hidden fees! Had my teeth cleaned and told me I needed a filling I told them I have to talk with my insurance but they told me that they already have and that the insurance will cover it. After a few months got a letter from them charging me $2K for a filling! So I called the insurance and they told me that the procedure ws not covered and they never received any call from the dental office. When I called dr. Amanda hoovers office they told me that they did call up the insurance company but could not provide me with the date/time of call or even the name of the insurance agent. I had to tell them that I already talked with my lawyer from which they lowered their fee to $700 which I ANGRILY AND HESITANTLY had to pay them. If you are still seeing this dr. I suggest talk with your insurance first before any procedure don't just trust their word. KARMA has a lot of ways of coming back to you dr. I have been going to this dentist for over a year. I did not have a lot of money, so I did not do much with their treatment plan. I went to another dentist for a checkup. Found out Dr. Hoover was treating my teeth for problems that are not there. Thank god I got a second checkup from a different dentist. I saved a chunk of money. Go get a second checkup from another place if you go to this one. The truth will surprise you. Other than that, the office is very pretty with marble countertops. They are like a used car salesman when it comes to their treatment plan. more

I just recently switched over to Dr. Hoover's office and I am beyond satisfied with my decision. As a single dad with two kids it is increasingly difficult sometimes to find an office staff with the patience, know-how, and loving nature to make my kids feel at ease when they go. My littlest boy who is 4 is absolutely in LOVE with Bobbie, who went out of her way to entertain him while his brother and myself were getting our teeth cleaned for over an hour. He actually asked when we could go visit her again upon our leaving. Dr. Hoover and the rest of her team are equally as exceptional and professional, getting to patients in a prompt manner, and always offering treats, coffee, and beverages to tie you over for the brief moments you may have to wait. They take the time with every patient to go above and beyond to make you feel like you're more then just another patient and that you leave with a smile. We are so ecstatic to have found this place! I cannot speak highly enough of The Lakes Dental, me and my family will be a patient for life. Dr. Hoover and her amazing staff always go above and beyond to make every trip to the ""dreaded"" dentist a pleasure, so much so that my kids actually look forward to their next trip. Furthermore, unlike every other dentist I go to, I don't leave feeling like they spent the appointment trying to find things to bill me for, something that really puts my mind at ease. If you're in the market for a fantastic dentist that you can have forever, you absolutely MUST come see Dr. Hoover!!!! She is the BEST! more

My family has been going to Dr. Hoovers office for several months now. I had been to another area Dr who literally made me cry in the chair when telling me everything I needed done to my teeth. I felt horrible and wanted another opinion. That is when I found Dr Hoover's office. On the first day of my appointment I also made an appointment for my 6 year old daughter and had my 2 year old sit with me. Dr Hoover's staff took great care of my 6 year old and kept my 2 year old occupied while I got my check -up. Come to find out I only needed about half the work the other dentist was telling me I needed and everything was explained in great detail. Since dental work is expensive Dr Hoover has helped me work out a plan of attack to address things over time so as not to feel overwhelmed. I dont know what those people are talking about. My husband, son and I have been going to The Lakes Dental Center for 2 years and NEVER had a problem. The office is so nice and staff are very friendly. I feel like they always take time out to talk to me and my family to explain everything we need. They go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We always leave with a smile and thats such a great feeling, especially when you have a 7 year old thats happy also. Thanks for always taking care of us Dr. Hoover. See you soon :) more

I have been going to Dr. Hoover for over 3 years and I love it there. When you walk in, they offer you a beverage and a cupcake while you wait. The decor is nice and relaxing. My kids say that going to the dentist is like Christmas! lol. They get really good goody bags when they go. Their technology is up to date and I know they are catching everything on my boys because of that. I've had some fillings and a cap done and everything is going great for me. I will continue to use Dr. Hoover for my family. more

Wow. This Doctor is a scam artist. She told me I had 3 cavities on top of my old fillings- which by the way I have NEVER had a filling! more

We recently moved to the area from Dallas and were recommended to Dr. Hoover's office by several neighbors in our subdivision. Being conservative in my approach to new healthcare offices I did my due dilligence and did an extensive on-line search. Though the three reviews I found were less than flattering I must say my experience was nothing like those expressed in the reviews. The office is very nice and has a calming effect. I am very dental-phobic and found the staff to be very professional and reassuring. When I arrived I was placed in the relaxation room that equals the spa relaxation room of a 5 star spa. Dr. Hoover came in and did my exam and was very personable and professional. She explained her office takes a more aggressive approach to dental hygeine in particular gum disease. She completed a thorough treatment plan as she called it that would address all of my dental issues. Anything health-related is expensive but I found her prices to be competitve to those I had paid at my last dental office. Overall I felt my experience with Dr. Hoover to be positive enough to the point that I booked appointements for my husband and three children. The one thing I particularly liked about Dr. Hoover and her office is she has specialists that provide a one-stop shopping experience so I don't have to drive all over League City for treatment. I cannot say enough good things about this office and did not have any of the experiences posted in previous reviews. more

We moved the area & were recommended this dentist. Dr Hoover was listed on our dental insurance's website as a provider & confirmed that she was one when I made an appointment. My appointment went well. Office is gorgeously decorated & very nice. I was told after my teeth cleaning that I needed two fillings for cavaties (my first cavaties).
