I moved here recently and was looking for a pet clinic for my 2 pets- I choose this one because of location. I took my dog in for a check-up and walked out with a bill of $308.0...

The staff at the Honolulu Pet Clinic were so very professional and caring. Dr. Roger Kondo is so knowledgeable. He truly is no nonsense which i like...none of the stupid chit-chat that is unrelated to your visit He treated my dog with care and concern, I just happened to be at Safeway and saw the Honolulu Pet Clinic sign in Young Street. So, I was a walk-in. the satff informed me I would wait about 20 minutes...which i did and didn't mind because the Clinic was so clean ans beautifully decorated. I now have a new vet and my dog, Sadie loves Dr. Kondo. more

Very Good With My Cat! 10/8/2010

I brought my cat to the vet to investigate a broken claw. It wasn't infected, but it was packed with poop. They cleaned it out, and trimmed all the claws. They were very good with him, although he was very good with them. more

Excellent service when bringing my cat here 10/8/2010

I got excellent customer service when I took my cat here. The staff even remembers her name without being prompted and they remember her problems as well. They inquire about the general well being. The vet was very helpful in answering all our questions. more

Staff is remarkably friendly 10/6/2010

This clinic is a small and very professional one. I often go in to buy medication for my dog (Revolution) and the staff is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Everytime I ask about a service, they are very informative and give me print outs on exactly what will happen (I was going to spade my dog). more

Expect only the best here 9/29/2010

I've been a long time client of the Honolulu Pet Clinic. My dog lived a long, healthy life of 18 years. I credit this to Dr. Kondo and his staff. When our dog passed away from old age, Dr. Kondo was very caring and compassionate. The Clinic sent flowers and a condolence letter to our family. Some of the other comments regarding the clinic and Dr. Kondo sound like they have another agenda. Our family has had exceptional, caring, loving service. more

This was my first visit to the The Honolulu Pet Clinic. The Clinic was highly recommended by several friends. I was not disappointed. I was greeted with smiles by such caring receptionists and they explained in detail the pricing for the services that my cat needed. Upon entering the exam room, I immediately noticed how clean the room was kept. I waited for a couple of minutes and Dr. Kondo entered. He was very professional, on the serious side, yet... very warm and caring. He was very exact in explaining the surgery and thoroughly answered all my questions. I certainly didn't feel rushed. My Precious is now at home and doing well. Dr. Kondo, personally called to check on the progress of Precious. Me ke aloha pumehana more

overpriced/impersonal vet 6/30/2010

We went here after we adopted a beautiful dog from the humane society. We saw a very kind experienced lady vet at first who we liked alot for our doggie's shots but then we saw Dr Kondo (the other vet was off duty) for a check-up and didn't like him at all. He was as cold as a fish and didn't even look at us when he talked or pet our nervous dog. He just spent the time putting data into his computer with his back to us and didnt look at us. He told us to do put our dog under to do teeth cleaning and it would cost $700-850. He made it sound like we were bad owners if we didn't do what he recommended. We got a bad feelling about him. So we switched to another vet. we wouldn't go back here because even though the 1st vet was wonderful she's not always there. Dr. Kondo had no bedside manner at all and that made us wonder why hes a vet. more

i would give Dr Kondo ZERO stars if i could he is so money-GRABBING and doesnt care 1 bit about pets. he is a fake. i found how much my dogs medical cost should have been when i took her someplace much better. this doctor only cares about is reaming your wallet of as much cash as he can. dont go to this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Kondo Roger M Dvm - Honolulu Pet Clinic is- VERY EXPENSIVE 10/12/2009

I moved here recently and was looking for a pet clinic for my 2 pets- I choose this one because of location. I took my dog in for a check-up and walked out with a bill of $308.00. I was so shocked at the bill I didn't even say anything- I just paid and left- I will never return again- they may have gotten me once but never again- The only thing redeeming is their very friendly staff- they were just great and they don't make the prices~. After I left I called 4 other clinics to see if indeed I was over-charged! I will give you some examples of their pricing- 1. Frontline Spray 500ml bottle- I was charged $68.99 Checking on-line it was $49.00 other Pet clinics charged up to $56.00~ ($19.99 is quite a mark-up)- 2. Plucking ear hair from my small Yorkie- $16.00 3. Nail trim- that she did not need!- $16.00 4. Teeth cleaning (5 years old) Estimate $629.50-$715.00 Thank goodness I called and got several estimates and NOT ONE Clinic was over $175.00. Wow They even prescribed m more

So-so service 6/27/2007

The vet at this clinic is knowledgable but has icewater in his veins. I had my pet put to sleep once, an animal that he had known throughout the years, and he didn't bother to offer any condolences or anything, just walked out of the room. Once when I brought in my pet he said "I don't know why people buy these things". I've had other friends say the same things about this guy. \r \r I don't recommend this place. more
