Be aware when you go in park. Rangers are in there for one purpose, to write tickets. It is a $80.00 fine if they catch you with alcohol and they are watching. Make sure you stop at a stop sign fully. These rangers like to be there during holidays and special occasion. The beach isn't all that, too many rocks and shells hurt your feet and food very over priced. I will never go back! more

More quiet than most beaches 8/8/2005

Honeymoon Island is perfect for an afternoon without the intense crowds at Clearwater Beach. It is located 20 minutes north of Clearwater Beach and is inside of a state park. There is a small admission fee based on vehicle - and if you need to leave you can re-enter with your paid receipt for that day. There is a special area for dog-owners to allow their pet to roam along the beach. Parking is sufficient and bathrooms/showers are located throughout the park. more

Very nice beach 7/28/2005

The reason why I like this beach is that they have a doggy beach as well. Having just got a little puppy this is the perfect place to go on the weekend. Although it can be quite populated there's always room to just get away from the others and lay out in the sun as well. The one draw back is that there are a lot of pets so that means a lot of "gooey" sand too, but that's expected at a doggy beach so not really complaining. more
