Reading other reviews on this site and chowhound and roadfood, I thought that eating here would like going to heaven. It was good, but not 'five-star good.'\r

It is a busy place popular with both locals and tourists. No waiting inside, so we got to wait in the 90 degree steamy Charleston heat. Once inside, it is fairly noisy due to the wood floors and stamped tin ceiling. Our food arrived fairly quickly after our order was taken. The service was very friendly, but could have been better (we were never offered refills on our drinks.)\r

I had the juevos rancheros (we ate on a Saturday and ordered from the brunch menu.) They were quite tasty. Other folks at my table ordered the eggplant sandwich, smothered eggs and chicken salad sandwich. Everyone thought the food was good.\r

I would suggest you go, but go at an off-hour to avoid the wait.
Pros: good food
Cons: wait outside, a little touristy
