Homestead Restaurant

I have never in my life been so angey and put off. My husband ordered the chicken parm the paste was over cooked yet cold the sauce wasn't sauce it was can of tomatoe paste dropped on the noodles and the chicken rudder we sent the food back. the waitress did ask if we would like something else he said no thanks we get he bill and they charged use $16.00 for that dish we asked to speek to manager and waitress came back and said sorry no managers are here s i told her we need to speek with someone we arent willing to pay for food that wasnt eat she came back and said a manager would be right out next thing i now the copes are walkng up to are table then the manager came out really i have never ever in my life been treated so poorly hen yes he got the seen he wanted in there for all to here cantwait to see this place go under more

Last Friday, September 2, we held our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at the Homestead. I can not give more praise to the owner Terry and his staff. The food was excellent. The dinner was for 80 people and everything Terry said he could do he did. The price was reasonable compared to other places. If you are considering a catered event, you need to book the Homestead Restaurant. \r Thanks for making our wedding weekend so special. more

Our very first visit and we were a little worried when asked if we had reservations, but that faded when we were sat down after tables were brought together for my family of five. The wait staff are exceptional, the food was very good, but we marvel at the desserts! Delicious!! Prime rib was tasty, angel pasta and talapia was sweet and mouth watering, and the kids loved thei spaghetti! The atmoshere is low lighted and intimate. This is a place to relax and enjoy people and have conversations! We loved the rich history of the building, and the friendly "everything" feeling! We will be coming back! more

Had a group of eleven to be served on short notice. Manager Terry said the Homestead has been there for 100 years, and that he would have our table set when we arrived, and that we would not be disappointed. He was right, everything was good, we enjoyed great drinks,appetizers,main courses,desserts and service. more

I love love love the Homestead! It would be the first resturant I would recommend to anybody that asked. The is most excellent, the service and the attention that you recieve there is top knotch! I would tell everyone to go at least once! more

I will never again return to the Homestead restaurant. Not because of the food, service, or prices. All of which were fine. My mother chose the restaurant for dinner which was fine becasue i always wanted to try the place. I paid for our dinner with my debit card which came up to thirty six dollars and change. Me and my girlfriend left a cash tip for the waitress on the table[which she quickly picked up after we sat it on the table]. I signed my debit card reciept and forgot to grab it out of the black bill holder. I also forgot to write in a zero in the spot where it asks whether or not you choose to add a tip to the original charge of the food.[A foolish mistake of mine i admit] This mistake of mine was taken advantage of to a bad extent. I later found a charge of fifthy dollars from the restaurant on my bank statement. I called the Homestead and they informed me that an additional tip had been written in on the reciept. We attended an event catered by the Homestead Restaurant last Saturday night. It was passed hors'doeuvres and a sit down dinner for 400 people. The food was exceptional! I would highly recommend them for a catering job or to eat in their restaurant. Great job Homestead! more

I completely agree with the Worse Food Ever comment. The food is over priced and the staff is very unprofessional unless you go there all the time!!! The beef tips and noodles were disgusting, the tips were bleeding on top of the gravy and when we tried to make a complaint about them. We were treated very rudely and they took the food back for like 15 minutes and burned the tips and brought them back. The fried chicken I ordered was cooked all the way through and again they acted like I was bothering them because they didn't cook the food completely. more

I have eaten at this establishment for fifty years, long before the fire place, lounge and dinning rooms. The original place had a bar not lounge a small dinning area, even with the updates it is still a comfortable atmosphere. I can remember the now owners grandfather, and father at the register asking if everything was alright, the staff has always been courteous, and the food excellent, somethings have been dropped off the menu over the years though(miss them). I have always enjoyed my visits there and will continue to enjoy the place. more

I've been to the Homestead and don't believe there is a piece of plateware that could actually hold an inch of oil. I have only had positive experiences at the Homestead. If you really want to experience "sky high" prices, try going to 1875. There you won't get the kind, friendly experience you get at the Homestead. I am writing this in concern of those who follow and attempt to eat at the worst place ever, don't! The prices are sky high. Don't get me wrong I don't mind paying for good food, however, that food I had with my family came close to a pig slop. I ordered the special "chicken and sausage with mushroom Vesuvius in a wine butter sauce. No way and shape was this dish near to what it says on the bill board. The chicken was standing a inch of oil, yes, oi, the sausage I asked the waitstaff it it was Italian which she confirmed and Say's yes, was a hot dog fried to death. The salad was fine - my youngest son ordered spaghetti, now, what could someone do to pasta, hmmm let me see, overcook it?? yes, we have a winner! The pasta was so bad the sauce I think they used a can of tomatoes and poured it on top. The bill was $ 68.00 that is three orders and a child plate. Dit I tell you how dirty the place and smelly it was, yes, that should have given us the clue the get out. As we entered the smell more

One reviewer calls the Homestead dark and in this case that is a good thing for it gives a comfortable feel to a wonderful restaurant.\r The world has too many "TGIF" type places and the Homestead is the perfect alternative.Quiet,laid back and a great menu. The homestead is a family owned business that has been around for nearly a hundred years in the same family and the hospitality cannot be matched. Their food, service, and prices are first-rate. I cant wait to visit once the remodeling is finished. Unlike most chain restaurants, the Homestead will devot the time and attention that one desires when searching for an outstanding dining experience. I recommend it to all! more

The Homestead has been around forever and the food is definitely outstanding, but the decor is so old and dark. *shiver* It's kinda depressing dining there. I guess I tend to like light and newer decor. Also, the bathroom always needs tending. I think a little renovating would do a lot for this establishment. Otherwise, the prices and quality can't be beat! more
