Home Towne At Conway

My parents are moving out of this place because of how misleading and uncooperative the management of Home Towne at Conway have been. They advertise it as a gated community, but the gate has gone over 1 and 1/2 years without ever being closed. Recently it has been sporadically closed but only at night sometime around 9pm to 7am. I would consider that false advertising to say it is a gated community that is not closed 24/7 and only works sometimes during night hours. The clubhouse is drastically restricted making it not worth using. It is only open during management working hours. Which those hours include all amenities located in the clubhouse. Meaning the fitness center, dining area, library, laundry room, community kitchen, game room and lounge can only be used M-F 8am to 5pm. But you also can't have any gatherings of any type unless you invite everyone in the ENTIRE complex. The pool area can be closed at anytime with no explanation and grandchildren can only swim in the pool between the hours of 1pm to 3pm (the hottest time of the day). The management also states that they are not legally responsible to clear walkways during icy winter times. So it becomes very dangerous for the residents to even walk to their mailboxes if there is snow and ice on the sidewalks. When the elevators break down, it has been known for the management to take a few days to get them running again leaving residents that need the use of the elevators stuck in their apartments. I would advise serious consideration before moving into this complex. more

My parents currently live in Home Towne at Conway. I was the one who toured the complex and gathered info for them before they moved here due to them moving from out of state. The apartments are fine, as far as apartments go, but when they list or tell you about their amenities, they neglect to tell you that they are only available for the residents to use during their office business hours (with the exception of the pool). In other words, they are available for use only Mon - Fri 8a - 5p. As a resident, you are not allowed to use the clubhouse, library, salon or fitness center except during these times. Also, if you do use the clubhouse during those times for an event, you MUST invite everyone in the entire complex. If you're not willing to invite everyone, you cannot use it. I've spoken to a representative at the Corp Office and they are not willing to have any dialogue regarding these policies at all. Again, this is something they neglect (purposefully?) to tell you either in their ads OR when they take you for an onsite tour. I just wanted to let people know so that they can make an informed choice when chosing an apartment in Conway. more
