I bought my dog here 5 years ago. He's a purebread English Bulldog. I remember Chris being very accommodating. Met at the store, went to house, back to the store, couldn't decide, came back later, repeated steps above. I saw a lot of dogs at the store. Yes, they were standing in pee&poop, but gawd, there were 15 puppies in the pen, what do you expect? They clean regularly, but it's impossible to keep clean every second of the day.
My puppy was generally healthy. He did have mange, which my vet said is present in 20% of all puppies. They get it from the mother. He's had a fair run of minor health issues throughout his life, which is specific to the breed. All Bulldogs have issues with breathing, skin, etc. - you can't blame the breeder or the dealer.
PLEASE - Do not get a Bulldog unless you fully understand what you are getting into. The breed requires a lot of attention and specialized care. If you cannot spend at least 20 min a day cleaning folds, feet, eyes, and ears, get a different kind of dog!
Home Raised Puppies has good dogs. They make great companions and are generally healthy. If you want an AKC Champion-caliber show dog, you might want to check out a more specialized breeder with those type of bloodlines. But for a family pet, you can't go wrong with HRP.
