Holzer Medical Ctr

If you want a great experience having a new baby,then please go elsewhere.Some of the nurses are really rude.The midwife and Doctors needs to communicate with each other more.I feel as if the midwife and Doctors are clueless. This was my first baby at this hospital and my last. I will drive the extra 45 mins to go to another hospital, and I only live 10 mins from this hospital. more

Expertise Facility Professionalism I would actually give you a 0 star rating if that were possible. I was a patient at Holzer for a GI bleed.....after a colonoscopy, I was told there was no blood in my gut and was discharged the same afternoon after the colonoscopy. I was not taken from the hospital in a wheelchair, instead I was left alone to walk to my car, (being pale, dizzy and short of breath) where my wife was waiting. I was home approx. 2 hours and started hemorrhaging AGAIN!! I went to Adena, where I was given immediate blood transfusions because I was bleeding so heavily, they were afraid that they could not catch up. Dr. Sinning was considering emergency surgery the same night, but opted for observation because they, even with a bleeding scan, could not tell where the bleeding was coming from. However, 3 days later, I was still getting transfusions and was taken to emergency surgery, which lasted 5 hours. I was admitted several times after that for complications. Now tell me, Holzer, that there was no blood in the gut, especially since I was still bleeding the morning before I was discharged from Holzer. I still say to this day....I do thank Holzer for one thing....that is the fact that they discharged me and I was able to make it to Adena....otherwise, who knows...????? more

don't do nothing for pain. staff is nice but if your in pain forget about getting any help with that more

My mother recently was admitted to Holzer. Instead of following hospital policy on releasing information, her information was given out to a non-family member. Nurses you are appreciated but not when you do not want to do your job which is see to the needs of the patient. This nurse needs to be reprimanded immediately! 5/16/2017 more

I will never return to this hospital unless there is no other choice. My daughter was here for nearly a day in severe pain while only one medication was tried to alleviate the pain. It did nothing. The proper tests were not run. Even though she was admitted through the ER in the early morning hours, she did not see a doctor again until after 2:00 pm. He said he did not know what was wrong with her and said he could not transfer her because of did not have a diagnosis. We forced her pain riddled body into a car and took her to OSU hospital. Her pain was gone after an hour and four hours after that she was diagnosed with double pneumonia, a uti, and a severe flare of an autoimmune disease she has which is clearly on her records. We left there five hours after entering with the proper medications and a smile on her face. I would encourage everyone to make this hospital a last resort. more

We recently had a family member at this hospital. The staff was so helpful and extremely nice to all of us. We were in the family waiting room and they kept us very well informed. They brought snacks and drinks in for us and did anything they could to make us more comfortable. They have an elevator for the second floor and a cafeteria. I recommend this hospital!! more
