I would actually give you a 0 star rating if that were possible. I was a patient at Holzer for a GI bleed.....after a colonoscopy, I was told there was no blood in my gut and was discharged the same afternoon after the colonoscopy. I was not taken from the hospital in a wheelchair, instead I was left alone to walk to my car, (being pale, dizzy and short of breath) where my wife was waiting. I was home approx. 2 hours and started hemorrhaging AGAIN!! I went to Adena, where I was given immediate blood transfusions because I was bleeding so heavily, they were afraid that they could not catch up. Dr. Sinning was considering emergency surgery the same night, but opted for observation because they, even with a bleeding scan, could not tell where the bleeding was coming from. However, 3 days later, I was still getting transfusions and was taken to emergency surgery, which lasted 5 hours. I was admitted several times after that for complications. Now tell me, Holzer, that there was no blood in the gut, especially since I was still bleeding the morning before I was discharged from Holzer. I still say to this day....I do thank Holzer for one thing....that is the fact that they discharged me and I was able to make it to Adena....otherwise, who knows...?????
