I just had my one and only good experience at a car dealership here. traded in my old civic for a brand new one. after being given the runaround for weeks at every other place in "car country carlsbad" i almost gave up and decided to keep my old civic until it died. luckily, ray rogers at hoehn was an awesome salesman and kept working to get me into a car i actually wanted, instead of the pieces of junk they tried to push me into at the nearby dealerships. i highly recommend hoehn. i haven't had it serviced here yet, i hope that will go just as smoothly more

I purchased a Honda Ridgeline in 2007. I do all the routine service on my own and I recently needed to bring my auto in for several small issues. The service department at Hoehn Motors did a great job in fixing my minor problems quickly and efficiently. In addition, the service advisor that assisted me was so professional and helpful. They gave us a great price, including the warranty, that we couldn't turn down. We were originally going to shop around for a better deal, but their offer was so good, we took it! more

We have used for Hoehn intermittedly for servicing our 2000 Civic LX sedan and have been pleased with the service we receive. I say intermittedly because we have also used a local independent service provider, which we are unlikely to do any longer. On some recent service needs, Hoehn actually was significantly less expensive than the independent. And, importantly, the car now runs better than it has for some time. So I can recommend them. Good people that do good work. Like all dealers, you pay more than you would need to pay with a competent independent service operation; the trick is fining a COMPETENT independent service operation among the forest of incompetents. A good dealer like Hoehn saves one that problem. more

I just bought a brand new civic at this dealership and had a great experience. My salesman was Clark Overstreet, we went to him first earlier this month when we were still shopping around for different makes and models. He took a lot of time to show us all the details of several different cars, even though we assured him we were not buying that day. there were no high-pressure sales techniques whatsoever. When i came back, ready to buy, he gave me a good price, and there were many cars on the lot to choose from (I had been to a dealership that offered a price that was only slightly below the deal i got at hoehn, but had only one car in the wrong color. absolutely nothing to choose from. I plan to drive my car for many years and want the one i buy to be the perfect one for me). We easily found the car i wanted when we went back to hoehn, and were able to test drive the exact car before purchasing. we were completely happy with it. Paperwork was painless and we were in and out of the dealership fairly quickly. Clark showed me how to work every single button and feature in my new car before i left. And when i left, he waited for me to drive off the lot and waved as I was leaving. We felt like he took good care of us, and we got a good deal on the perfect car for me. more

I want to let you know what a wonderful experience I had leasing a car from Hoehn Honda in Carlsbad. Larry Chesney was my Sales "MAN" and boy was he the "MAN" . Not only did he make the whole processes of leasing a vehicle easy but he made me laugh while doing it!!! I came in to Hoehn misinformed about leasing a vehicle and Larry took the time to educated me on the whole processes ! He definitely turned lemons into lemon-aid ,actually he turned it into a lemon-aid daiquiri that's how good he is !! It seems that you pick winners for your staff because the beautiful Arin Clemenson was down to earth and wonderful to deal with as well. So once again thank you to your staff and Hoehn for being a great company to deal with !! I look forward to seeing Larry in 3 years to lease another Honda from him! EXCELLENT SERVICE DEPT / SPENT THE TIME... 7/14/2010

I bought a New Honda Civic LX back in 2001 for my daughter, and the car has only been serviced at Hoehn Honda in Carlsbad. First of all it's a Honda, and one of the most reliable cars out there, and has needed very few repairs. I brought the car there for Front & Rear Brakes, Rotors (because we let the brakes go too far - my fault), Oil & Filter, a few other repairs. I also own a new Range Rover Sport, Mercedes Benz, and a Jaguar. I've had outstanding experiences at all dealerships for service except Jaguar/Kearny Mesa , the Jag dealer was horrible time after time. The guys at Honda Service have been as easy to reach as possible for busy service dept, they have been very detailed in explaining exactly what the car needs and honest about what it doesn't, checked my car out thoroughly each time without pressure to do all the fixes to make the car perfect. Bottom Line: They get me in quick, they diagnose properly, they complete high quality repairs with Honda parts, within a reasonable time, and communicate properly. They are better than any Doctor I've ever had! I see some of the bad reviews, and makes me think it's unfortunate that this type of business probably only gets the complainers, but keep in mind they've probably repaired over a Hundred Thousand cars over the last 10 years, and the few complaints is low compared to the thousands who keep coming back. My son is getting the 2001 Civic, and I was thinking of a new Honda Civic vs Toyota Prius for my daughter, but with all the Toyota shenagin's, it's a New 2010 Honda Civic for us more

What excellent service! 7/14/2010

The paint on my 2004 Odyssey started peeling off the hood in August 2009. When I called Hoehn Honda, I was told the warranty was extended due to an adhesion issue. I brought my van in and they paid to have the hood, roof and window edges re-painted; I got the van back in a week. Two weeks ago I noticed a small patch of paint peeling of the back hatch; within a week, it had become a huge area. Mario in service asked me to come in so the Honda rep could take a look at it because the warranty didn't cover that part of the van. When I arrived, the rep wasn't there, so Andy took a picture so I wouldn't have to come back. Mario called the next day to say that Honda was offering me a goodwill warranty extension to cover the back hatch. I got my newly-painted van back within 3 days... and they even put on a new H logo (mine disappeared years ago) and detailed the inside. I am hugely impressed!? more

The Hoehn family has been in the car business since 1938 with the original Hoehn Chevrolet, founded by Theodore W. Hoehn.The company, headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee was transferred to Theodore W. "Bill" Hoehn, Junior. After moving to La Jolla, California for what turned out to be a short-lived retirement, Bill founded Hoehn Motors in Carlsbad in 1975. Bill's two sons Bill and Bob now own the business. Today, the family is proud to say that there is a fourth generation of Hoehn car dealers working in the business: Ted, Jo Hannah, and Susanah Hoehn.
