A wonderful facility. 4/15/2015

Our dog Smokey was treated at Hockessin Animal Hospital for over 12 years, and he was always treated wonderfully. From the time he was a puppy until we had to put him down last month, the folks at H.A.H. gave him the best care possible. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best for their pet! I'm curious about the review from Rand W. (Rand Deamond). This just might be the only time he has ever been honest when he wrote a review on the internet. He has written several fraudulent, unflattering reviews of Claymore Senior Center under many different names. Hmmm... more

Excellent Hospital 7/27/2010

My cat Shiva was a patient at this hospital. They always treated her well and were very compassionate. I have NEVER seen them act unkindly towards her. Dr. Mitchell is the best. The staff is great. Well she became very sick this weekend. (She was 17) and the time came to put her down. The staff and Doctor were great and compassionate. It was a hard time and they were very accommodating and kind. They have never acted like money was an issue. But I don't think anyone would like to work for nothing. Many thanks to all of them for the way they helped me.\r Rand Deamond more

The best hospital in the state 2/5/2009

To mom2beauty - who is the "male" vet to whom you are referring? There are female vets at Hockessin Animal Hospital, no males. I will tell you that I would trust Dr. Mitchell with any animal - she has extended the life of our cats over and over. There is no one any better. more

To Ernest M 12/3/2008

I found that this clinic takes good care of it's pets. I found Ernest M.s review to be a bit immature. He's cursing and blaming a vet for not being a bank. I own a business and would be very reluctant to doing an expensive service on someone who has poor credit in the first place. Times are tough and it's hard to stay in business when people don't pay their bills. \r \r Maybe you should have taken your pet elsewhere. Did you think of that? Now you are blaming them for your pet's death because you didn't go anywhere else? more

Mitzy 9/23/2008

On september 12th. 2008 My pet female mixed breed dog Mitzy passed from this life due to a bowel obstruction. I tried to get these people to let me make arrangements to pay for proper surgery that would have saved my dog.s life. I was told by these people that they don't do that. I didn;t have enough credit on any of my cards to allow me to pay them. It would only have taken me a few weeks to get together enough money to pay them but they didn't care. This dog was the center of my household. losing her has devastated my family. True she was an old dog but she was otherwise in bery good health and would probably have lived another 4-5 years. In short this dog did not have to die. We have friends who would have gladly given me the money if I could only have been able to contact them in time. I curse myself for ever having trusted these people with the care of my pet. Some day these people will stand before God in judgement and I will stand up and curse them for the heartless thing they'v more

Fantastic hospital/staff/vet 5/1/2008

My three dogs (two miniature poodles and a yellow lab) utilize many services at Hockessin Animal Hospital. They are medically treated by the BEST VET, Dr. Janet Mitchell. They are also groomed and bordered at Hockessin. I have the utmost respect and confidence in this animal hospital. The staff is very professional and extremely helpful and friendly. Danielle is a great groomer and is able to handle even the most difficult dog. Dr. Mitchell personally calls me for follow-up after a test or office visit; she is very empathetic and loves her patients.\r \r As a added benefit, since Windcrest Animal Hospital is a 24-hr hospital and affiliated with Hockessin, I am blessed if any of my pets need emergency care. Their medical records can be accessed immediately, thereby saving precious time.\r \r I would rate the hospital/staff/vet a five star! \r \r Terri Murvin more

What the..... 3/25/2008

I have to tell you that I would not take my pet back to this place they clearly do not have a love for animals but are only in BUSINESS to do this. My little dog was so scared and snapped at the Vet, only for him to them call him a little SOB(but used the correct terms not the short version)Please look elsewhere for your pets needs...find a place that will love them...not just take your money and provide a service to you. more

people not great with pets 4/17/2006

I took my daughter's cat here to Hockessin Animal Hospital after it fell out of a tree. I thought his leg was broken because he couldn't walk right. First off, they were giving me trouble about not having an appointment. I told them well I did not plan on having this cat fall out of a tree. They finally did see me and my cat, and they were not nice about it. They were also kind of rough with the cat. I expected they would be good with animals, but I saw no proof of that. They only checked the cat out for a few minutes, then gave him a shot of I believe pain medicine, and gave him back to me and said they were done. Well the cat was still not ok, and 2 days later, I had to take him to another hospital, to find out his paw was sprained. My cat turned out to be fine, but I had a really bad expierence here. So I can not really recommend it. more
