The Hoy Toy may be the worst restaurant I have ever stepped foot into. The decorm is that of the late 70s this includes ripped carpeting, spiral staircase with a hard plastic railing and and I think I saw a disco ball(LOL). If you like adventure, eat here. I had not eaten all day in anticipation of the Hoy Toy. I wanted to turn around when I stepped inside, however, my friends were waiting. None of us had been there before and we went on a recommendation of a co-worker. I had the shrimp fried rice, which was burnt. Other friends tried a variety of meals. Not one of the 7 women were satisfied. When we spoke to the manager about the sink not working in the ladies restroom and the dirty dishes and utensils. He waved us off.I wonder as to how this restaurant is staying open in downtown Columbus, OH. Dirty, Dirty, Dirty. more

I've been going to Ho Toy for years now; it's one of my all-time favorites here in Columbus. The restaurant has a nice menu selection including many tasty vegetarian dishes. Do not be daunted by the other reviewer's comment about the staff. Everyone there has been great over the past 20 years I've been going. It's sad that a customer expects the server to have X-ray vision in regard to the teapot. It's not the norm for a person to guzzle the entire pot and require more. Bad service? Try bad customer. more

Ho-Toy is a great little Chinese restaurant. Located at the corner of High Street and State Street in downtown Columbus, Ohio, it's a throwback of times gone by. Think of the Chinese restaurant in the Glengarry Glenn Ross, and you have an idea. The food is good, though not spicy enough for my own tastes. The decor probably hasn't changed in 30 years. But that's gives it a great, kitschy flavor. I've received nothing but good, friendly service here. It has a nice bar & selection of drinks, also. more

This review will not make a whole lot sense… despite the fact that Ho Toy is an old dated Chinese restaurant with low quality atmosphere and a not to friendly staff, I’m a regular here. For starters it is very close to where I work, which is a huge plus on cold days. I find the food to be a fairly good quality, though I don’t enjoy the eggrolls and skip them all together. I enjoy all the chicken dishes and even find their shrimp to taste fresh. I like that I can get a whole pot of tea left at my table for .79 cents and simply enjoy my lunch in piece…. Don’t expect great service, I usually have to wave at the server to get refills, but the place serves it’s purpose. more
