When dealing with the ""Hitching Post"" in Hopkins ""Be careful"". I purchased a new left over Honda Goldwing in 2009 there. Included in the sale was a 4 year extended Honda Warranty. When I got home and re looked over the sales documents I found that this dealership had subsituted a maintenance warranty at a local business instead of the 4year extended warranty that I purchased. To straighten this error out it took severaL calls and emails to correct this mistake. I paid $1100.00 for the Honda extended warranty through this dealership. I found out later the same warranty can be had from a online source such as ""Direct-Line Parts or Wingstuff for half that cost. they've seen the last of me! more

Above and Beyond 9/1/2011

We tend to post when things don't go right, but I visited this place several times this summer and was treated quite well. I relayed this story on another site, but it's worthwhile to post it here also as it seems so few people have chosen to review The Hitching Post so their rating seems pretty skewed. I am impressed the Hopkins Hitching Post. I spent several occasions this summer perusing the motorcycles showing them my newbie self and was treated very well. Don introduced me to several motorcycles for a beginner, but I didn't feel pressured in any way the many times I was there. I was encouraged to ask questions too. On one of the occasions, even the owner had asked if she could assist me. At the end of the summer, I won the Kawasaki Summer Sales Motorcycle. Yea! I was pretty nervous about the whole transaction before I entered the store, to claim the motorcycle. I was waiting for something to go wrong. Matt in promotions made sure I was introduced to most of the staff in the sales, service, parts, the owner and manager. The paperwork transaction was clear and flawless. Leaving...this was my first ride on any motorcycle...Mason gave me the overview of the bike. I was only a few blocks away, so I didn't feel too concerned about getting the bike home. I did kill it at a stop sign, and right behind me was one of the guys from parts, checking up on me on his way home. Truly a gesture of kindness. After I got home, Mason called and let me know I had left the owners manual at the store. Coming from a customer service background in my distant past, this is what I would call excellent customer service. Yes, I won a bike, but each person treated me with respect every time I entered the store this summer. This kind of service brings people back. If they continue to provide this kind of service, you will find me here again and again. P.S. I took the MSC last weekend. The bike and I are getting along just fine. :) more

Dishonest CROOKS!!! 7/6/2011

Do NOT consider doing business with the Hitching Post in Hopkins. Their service department is a bunch of dishonest crooks. Brought my bike in for simple maintenance and left with oil SPEWING out the top of my front cylinder head and tachometer disabled. In trying to remove a locked up screw above the cylinder head where the tach cable leads in, they rapped the screw with a hammer to get it loose and broke the rocker box inside the head in two!!. They claim they didn't do it!! The bike was great mechanical condition when we brought it in, and their own tech checked it over for 10 minutes prior to taking in for service. The Hitching Post service dept is a dishonest operation with techs who lie and say they never touched the bike after they make a mistake, and service managers who cover for them. They were incredibly rude to us in the process, and went so far as to accuse us of creating the problem ourselves and trying to blame it on them. We are still trying to figure out how they arrive at that conclusion when the tach worked fine and no oil was SPEWING out the top of the cylinder head when we brought it in. We are honest people. I've never written a negative review about any business before. These guys have earned this one. PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THE HITCHING POST IN HOPKINS. more
