Hilltop Tool Rental

This is most unfriendly person I ever spoke with. I don't know how he can still be in business. He is rude on the phone when you just call for some information and hangs up on you just like that. I planned to get there to rent some equipment, well I will look if I can find it somewhere else! more

Worst place to rent anything. The owner acts like you are bothering him to wait on you. He just seems like he is pissed off all the time. Not a nice place to do buisness with. I have been there three times and it was the same every time. The last time I just wanted to buy a box of air gun nails. He sends a guy to the back to get them and he brings back an open box with a lot of nails(about 20%) missing. I said to the owner that there are some missing and he acted like he didnt hear me. So I repeated it and That made him angry. He said thats the only box he had,and didnt offer to lower the price at all. I didnt buy them and will never go back. About a mile noth of his store is another tool rental with friendly professional people in clean store more

In my 22 years of construction sales and management I have never met anyone as rude and unprofessional as this business owner. After renting 2 concrete power trowels (which I had called earlier in the week about and been told that they have plenty) I realized that one of them was not the full size after getting to the job site. I called immediately and was told that they did not have anymore, but would I like them to check with the owner to see if he would rent me one of their new machines? Rather than trouble them with checking into renting a new machine, I found another full sized one at another place and I called and told them that and that I would bring back the small one. When I got there to return it, I was told that I could only get a store credit which messes up the paperwork for the job on my end. So I asked for them just to run a credit on my card. The owner came out and told me he didn't care what I had been told and that was all he was going to do. I accepted that even though I didn't want to and the paperwork was filled out. Afterward I walked to his office and told him very calmly and man to man that I thought that he handled that very unprofessionally to which he yelled at me that he did not need my bleeping business and for me to get the bleep out of his store. I build 12 to 15 custom houses a year and deal with hundreds of vendors. I've never seen anyone come even close to the disgusting level that the owner of this Hilltop Rentals displayed today...and over a $75 rental. Shame on him. more

I was impressed with the staff. When I called with questions, they answered them with courtesy. I will definitely rent again from them. I can feel comfortable recommending them to family and friends. more

After planning a very large party and the equipment being delivered to the house by an employee I was pleased to see that he was courteous and very personable. Left me a phone number and was told ?if you have any problems please don?t hesitate to give me a call.? On the ?Eve? of the party we were having problems with one of the Margarita machines freezing properly, we had 2, and was getting a little nervous about them not working. more

During the hurricane i went up to Hilltop to get a generator, there was a line out to the mailbox and the OWNER himself was out passing out water to the customers and the staff were working their tails off to get everyone in and out as fast as possible. That's an at-a-boy for Hilltop! more

Back before the hurricane my husband decided to by a PTO Generator from Hilltop Tool Rental...We gladly Paid $3,000. Hours before the hurricane hit we decided to go ahead and set everything up so when the power went out we could just crank it up......Well HILLTOP gave us the wrong plug, it was too little. We called them and they were closing and did not know when they were going to open again. Well, we are lucky my husband is smart and hooked it up anyway. We tried several times to take the plug back but they were always closed..... To make a long story short, today 3-11-2010 they were open.... We drove another 50miles to exchange the UNUSED plug. the owner refused to exchange the plug (that they gave us wrong in the first place)...He said it had been too long....To my surprise the little girl that works up front told us that they do not use any type of computer system to track any inventory and filed everything in boxes so they could not even look up the purchase!!!!!!....The owner (after being very rude) hid in the back and sent one of his workers to tell us that he would gladly sell it to us for $111.00.........This place was unorganized,the bathrooms were dirty and the owner was rude!!! DO NOT SPEND A PENNY OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE!!!!! IT IS TOO HARD TO COME BY THESE DAYS!!!! SPEND IT WHERE A BUISNESS OWNER APPRICATES THE SMALLER PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY!!!!! HE PROBABLY VOTED FOR OBAMA! Pros: NONE..... Cons: STUCK IN THE PAST!!! more
