My family and I will never use Hillis Adjustment. Mr Hillis is more concerned about putting money in his pocket and has an adjuster, Ralph Palaia, working for him who also not a stand up person. Ralph is extremely deceitful n is a total rip off. Dont be fooled by their manipulation. My family n I went to Ace Adjustments and they were much more sincere...I have personal knowledge that both Ralph Palaia and Bob Hillis are not trustworthy, Greed is the name of their game. more

I have used Hillis Adjustment Company several times over the past few years. My adjuster Lou Wein worked well with my insurance company and negotiated a far better settlement than I could ever have. Lynette Kirk was amazing; she was supportive and sympathetic of my situation, which made my bad situation a lot easier to deal with. Lynette handled all the paperwork for me making the claim process go very smoothly and enabling me to get the best possible outcome. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the excellent job!! Keep up the good work! more

it was good to use them but it was not worth using them because the claim was so small they should have fought to get more for me I had marble steps that cost over $13000 to replace from the estimate I had but they could not have accomplished that.I would use them again but for this small claim I should have went with the insurance company directly more

Incompetent at best 11/10/2013

The most horrible service you can imagine. They cost me thousands because they forgot to submit claims. You can't get anyone on the phone, and then they blame each other. A year later and I am still finding out through the lawyers that claims were never submitted even though I was told they were. The staff comes and goes so they keep blaming it on people they fired. more

Coming to the rescue with flood damage 10/24/2013

These people are pros. From the the time they signed me up through the entire claim they worked tirelessly on my behalf. My adjuster Lou Wein fought for me every step of the way to get the best possible outcome and Lynette Kirk kept after the Insurance company when they were not issuing my check for damages with constant calls finally wearing them down. I highly recommend them! more

What crooks! They misrepresented everything about themselves and cost me $45,000 in Sandy damages! The only money they collected was expenses they created from one of their subsidiaries and their commission. All I got was a sprained back from bending over for them. \r Why the government doesn't close them down is a mystery! more

Bottom line is Hillis Adjustment Agency gets the job done. 8/23/2013

I had a claim that was related to Hurricane Sandy. There was roof damage on the outside, which created more damage on the inside. Basically, anything that I could have hoped for from Hillis Adjustment Agency in terms of customer service and in terms of being available, whether it's speaking to a secretary or speaking to my adjuster, was met. My adjuster gave me his cellphone number and any time I called he was very responsive and helpful. They had to put up with a lot of shenanigans from the other side and cut through a lot of red tape to get the settlement they got. It took a long time, but they were very persistent. The settlement they were able to get was a very good settlement despite a lot of obstacles. There's nothing more you could ask an insurance company to do. They answer phones, are very responsive, and you can talk to your adjuster and feel like he's in your corner and working hard for you. Adam Kanefsky more

We are having a horrible experience wth Hillis Public Adjustrs. Our loss claim is now 2 1/2 months old and nothing has been done. 3 different adjusters during 3 visits with no clue on the previous information. During the entire 2 months Hillis would not return any of my phone calls and when they did it was always I don't know whats doing on. Our assigned adjuster doesn't respond to direct phone call inquiries or emails , the lady or his assistant only offers take a message with the promise that he will return our phone calls. NO help, NO check, I will express to everyone reading this to second guess yourself before using Hillis public adjustment. more

I've had experiences with both handling my claim with my insurance agency direct and with a different public adjuster. Handling the claim direct was ok but I will never know if I would have gotten more money if I had help. My insurance agency is also known as 'sneaky' and did everything they could to get out of paying me. The other company I used for another claim was ok. I got scolded for being home during inspection and I did not get enough to fix the damage. A trusted friend gave me Hillis' info and after calling them on a Friday afternoon, they were at my house the next day (Saturday) at 8am, and took care of me very well with every phone call and everyone who came out to see the damage. Not only did I get all the money I needed to fix the damage, I got it FAST! I will always use Hillis! more

On August 29, 2011 we had an accidental electrical fire, which caused severe damage to my home and personal property. My husband and I had nowhere to live, no one to turn to and we did not know what to do but we knew that trying to process our own claim through the insurance company was going to be a daunting task. Reluctantly we turned to an expert, Hillis Adjustment Agency, to serve as our advocate during this troubling time. From the start we knew we made the right choice as Hillis Adjustment Agency was there for us every time we called on them. Since our house was not livable they assisted us in getting temporary housing so my husband and I were safe during the whole process. They prepared building and personal property estimates, presented them to the insurance company, and most importantly fought for our rights under the policy. I do not know what we would have done without them, as the insurance company did not want to pay for all of the damages at first. It was only through persistence that Hillis Adjustment Agency was able to get the insurance company to agree to pay us for what we were entitled to and in the end we had enough money to do all of the repairs, replace all of our damaged personal property and THEN SOME! Thank God for Hillis Adjustment Agency, their adjuster Charlie Travisano and the rest of the staff. They turned what could have been a nightmare into an easy process. It only took us 4 months to get back into our house. Trust me, the insurance companies in this economy are only out for themselves. Think twice before you try to go at it without professional help on your side. When you think of an insurance claim, think of Hillis Adjustment Agency! They are the best! Holy Cow! 2/22/2012

When I noticed the damage to my home from Hurricane Irene, I didn't think it would be significant enough to put in an insurance claim. One of my friends told me to call Hillis to come out and take a look before I made my decision. Their representative walked throughout my entire property, looked at my policy, and gave me the confidence to put in the claim. 3 months later I have a brand new roof, all new siding, and gutters with no out of pocket expenses! My house looks great thanks to the people at Hillis, and I would recommend them to anyone. more

My Uncle had a water loss and Bob Hillis and his staff did a great job and got all the money he deserved. At one time it looked like the claim was getting denied as the Insurance Company din want to pay but Bob Hillis turned it around. Thank you. Great Job!! more
