A few months ago, a friend came upon a min pin in the middle of the road that had been hit by a car and left to die on a Saturday morning. My friend scooped up the dog and took it to another clinic in town. The clinic did xrays and blood work to a total of $900 but said that no one could perform surgery until Wednesday of the following week, and the dog would need to be on IV fluids in the meantime--to a tune of yet another $500. This vet quoted the cost of surgery to be $1300.\r
