Friday night- great for girls! 7/25/2009

The crowd was amazing- beautiful girls everywhere- I never knew L.A. had that many! Everyone seemed friendly and they get very hype when the dancers start performing. The go-gos here are better (performance-wise) than most clubs I've been to, including NYC and Miami. I dug the music. I wish they played reggae but it's all good. Pros: outdoor patio, music, drinks Cons: small, not enough lesbian nights more

BEST NIGHTCLUB/LOUNGE IN LA! 1/20/2009

I recently went to Here after not being there for awhile and had THE BEST TIME! Not only did I go Friday (which is ladies night, but mixed) but again Saturday. The music was amazing... the lighting was great and the staff was hot n super friendly. The Friday night ladies are amazing.. the bartenders dance these hot choreographed numbers every hour! And one girl got a lap dance.. ON THE BAR! Blew my mind... Sat was equally as fun with hot weho boys and amazing music... HOT NEW MUSIC, HOT/FRIENDLY STAFF, GREAT DRINKS! I love Here and can't wait to return to LA!! Pros: MUSIC, DRINKS, STAFF Cons: none i can think of more

Poor Management and Bartender Courtesies 1/16/2009

I went with my friend to the Here(hadn't been in over a year) The music was the bomb(as usual), the dancers were awesome(something new) and the crowd was mixed(which I love). When the dancers stopped dancing they began to bartend. My friend and I waited at the counter for our drinks(which was to be expected, duh, there's a crowd and I'm very patient) However after being passed over too many times my friend told the girl we had been waiting awhile. The bartender for whatever reason was annoyed with us and told us we were standing in the middle of (I guess an imaginary divider line). I was clueless to what she meant but she reluctantly made us our drinks. I held my twenty bill out for her to take, which she did after serving and taking money from another patron. Before leaving the counter my friend asked if she could have a lemon with her drink and the bartender THREW the lemon at us and it landed on the counter. I was LIVID, INFURIATED AND SHOCKED. I felt like I had been violated in front of a crowd of people, for what. I still don't understand why she was bent. We were waiting not irately or obnoxiously. I told the manager, Andrew, and he didn't seem to believe us. He spoke with the girl and she denied it, of course. He said he would offer us free drinks. At that point I didn't want to stay because I felt the management was lax and I had no clue what else might happen there and they didn't seem to have control over their employees(obviously). I told him(as I was pointing at him) I wanted my money back for the drinks and cover charge and I wanted an apology from the bartender for her inexcusable behavior. He refused, which infuriated even more because at this point I felt like a helpless victim with no where to turn. the manager had his bouncers put me out because I wouldn't stop pointing in his face. If that was demeaning to him then how does he think I felt having food thrown at me. I say BEWARE of this establishment.Management SHAME!! They don't protect you. Pros: Awesome music versatility, the ambience is inviting, great dancers, never had a problem until now with bartenders, they have always ventured me into new drinks in the past. Cons: Tall thin, no booty brunnette has issues/BEWARE, Poor management mediator/liason, present Manager, Andrew is thumbs down Dude more

Worst Venue in LA/HOLLYWOOD 1/19/2008

Aside from the limited square-footage and power hungry doormen, this is possibly the worst ran venue in the area. Last night a group of friend and I were denied access because one of our friends had an out of state ID. And because the doorman "wasn't familiar" with this State's ID, he refused service asking for a passport, a phone bill, or multiple credit cards. We even offered to call LAPD or the Sheriff's Dept and suggesting running the ID number. Rudely and ignorantly he refused. Which was a pity because we went to rage and spent $500 and had the best time! Forget about what you may have heard -RAGE in WEHO is the place to go! Great staff, REALLY STRONG DRINKS, and an amazing DJ at the dancefloor. Boo HERE, YAY RAGE!! Pros: They serve alcohol. Cons: Bad music, bad crowd, bad staff, weak drinks, horrible lighting, too small... more

Ur 15 min is OVER! 12/12/2007

Yeah, besides the hot dancers- which i think occur on Fridays- It has become about under-aged? no eye candy type of girls- this place has fugly promoters cus they sure dont add to the hot scene. Not to mention that most the girls in there are prolly snorting in the bathrooms..if you are into the L.A. hipster clique scene, then by all means...small dance floor, expensive drinks...i'd rather go to the ABBEY ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!! Pros: dancers but same ones!! Cons: same record diff day, whack cover charges and boo to the promo folk more

Popular West Hollywood gay club 11/22/2007

Here Lounge is one of my favorite weekend destinations in West Hollywood, even as a West Hollywood resident. The bar has an appropriate circular flow pattern, with a large bar in back. During the week, you can find a show or popular dance night at Here. The outdoor area is surprisingly lacking in smokers (a good thing). It's become almost too popular of late, with a long line down the alley. VIP access is pretty easy to attain though if you come frequently or know the right person. Pros: Classy, popular, the occasional celeb sighting Cons: Expensive, long lines more

Where are the hot women at? 10/21/2007

Thursday nights are now officially busted in WEHO! Here used to be a great lesbian bar on Thursdays but around the time they started charging at the door it stopped being hot. My crew and I started going to East West at that time and whoever is promoting that place has let it go to hell since. Drinks at Here Thursdays are bad and girls are no longer eye candy. Can no one promote a good Thursday? Pros: atmosphere Cons: service, girls, door charge, drinks more

Awful drinks 8/27/2007

It's been my displeasure to have gone to Here bar several times. The first time I went was for a friend?s birthday party. It was a special night and we had even rented a cabana. The drinks were pretty bad but we looked past it. When we were finally ready to move on to the next location for the night, we asked for the check around midnight. We waited literally over two hours for the friggin? check. We were the last people to leave the bar. Security even started yelling at us to leave and we still couldn?t get our check. Then the owner came over and was a total a**hole about the whole thing. Despite that awful experience and a few others like it, a friend recently talked me into going back for a few drinks and to watch the debates. The drinks were so terrible, I just couldn?t take it and had to leave. Go the Abbey?MUCH better drinks. more

Go Here, not There... 8/17/2007

On Thursday nights, Here Lounge is a great place to hang and dance to Hip-hop, Reggaeton and other cool beats with a diverse group of women. It's also a place to meet and greet out-of-towners or just to kick back after a long work week for the ladies in the city of Angels. Friday night draws a slightly different crowd of women who come for the 80's and/or 90's rock, pop and dance... A similar rendition to the "Coyote Ugly" top-bar dancing is featured on Friday nights, which brings in a straight crowd also. Definitely a place to stop in to see and be seen. I would prefer a beer as opposed to any of the mix cocktails... Pros: A place to see and be seen Cons: Not too good drinks - stick with beers more

Thursdays and Fridays- what to expect 5/15/2007

This has been "the place" for attractive lesb1ans to come and dance on Thursdays for years now- it started out without dancing, and it didn't really draw my attention, bt the crowd was stellar. The crowd took a dive and got more rowdy and "ghett0", but the dancing started...and I couldn;t resist for a long time. Now, the crowd has finally become more sophisticated and the music is the best it's been. This is totally the place to go if you're a bi/fem girl and you want to dress up and not stand out as "the girl". They usually play pop and hip hop, and the crowd is diverse, finally. Fridays are way more upbeat- the bartenders clear the bar and dance- and even though they're hot, they still actually make good drinks. "Truckstop" Fridays are way more geared towards caucasian crowds (rock music, 80's pop). Both nights are great, and its a good "lesbian" club to take straight girl friends too- the vibe isn't extremely inclusive and they will feel welcome. Pros: Cute people, fun dancing Cons: No parking more

Better than Girlbar 4/21/2007

As you can tell from title of this review, Girlbar has been a huge disappointment and it's been a reason why I keep coming back to Here instead. If you get to Here before 10:30, there's no cover charge. By 10, there's a small crowd gathering already, so I'd recommend getting there around that time since drinks are still at happy hour price. The staff is very professional and makes sure the place stays safe for people to have fun. Just the other night, someone dropped a bottle of beer on the dancefloor and the staff was there in seconds to clean up the glass. There are two bars, one smaller one at the entrance, and the larger one at the back before the unisex bathrooms. Thursdays and Fridays are a good time to go if you're looking for a ladies night. Thursday is "Fuse" where they play hip-hop/r&b. Friday is "Truckstop" where it's a mix of 80's rock/pop classics and current pop music. It's also the night where the hot bartenders get up on the bar at the back of the lounge and peform in Coyote Ugly style. Just be prepared with some bills and a change of clothes back at your car because you will get water splashed on you if you're close enough. This place seems to draw a younger and more hip crowd than Girlbar (which is just down the street at "Ultra Suede"). The Here bartenders are far more attractive (male and female), and even when cover is being charged, the price is lower. Drinks are just strong enough and they've got a small selection of beers (Stella, Newcastle, Heineken, Corona, Bud/Budlight, Michelob Ultra). Also, don't worry about not having cash on you as they don't give a beef about you not paying in cash, plus they're prompt in giving you your card back (some places insist you keep a tab open). There's also outdoor seating with heatlamps when necessary so you can enjoy your night out with friends, have a smoke and drink. Indoor lounge seating is by reservation only though. This spot is one of the few good Weho places for women (on Thu & Fri only). Pros: Service, ambience, cover, security Cons: Crowded, parking, drink prices after 10:30 more

Good Place To Be On Thursday For Women 1/8/2007

Every thursday that I've been this has been a good treat. The scenery is mellow yet the drinks are over priced. The crowds are diverse so there is a little something for everyones type. The DJ however has his good nights and bad nights. The music is just as diverse as the people. Pros: Good Music, Good Crowds, Nice Atmosphere Cons: Only one way out. Dangerous if fire did occur. The front door would be rushed and people would get hurt more

The best Lesbian Sopt in Weho!!! 10/19/2006

The Here Lounge is the best spot for gay women in Weho!!! The music is great and the girls are hot. Love it wish there were more places for women... Pros: The whole vibe is chill, very diverse corwd... Great Music! Cons: The drinks are not that good. more

Outrageously priced drinks, slow service 8/3/2006

I'm sorry but this place is overrated!!! Sure there are good looking people that go here but the drinks are outrageous, the bartenders are too slow (I agree with another poster who was irritated that the bartenders are too busy chit-chatting and not taking care of customers). I tried not to expect too much having been a bartender myself in SF and NY (knowing that mixing can vary from bar to bar), but there's no justification for the prices. Even in NY we didn't charge that much! Sorry but I think I'll go to some other bars in WeHo. Pros: Good looking clientele Cons: expensive drinks, slow service more

Here is where the hot boyz are 1/3/2006

I've been in L.A. for a little over a year and would give up any day of the week just to party at Here on Sundays. The under-40 crowd is usually the hottest boys at any given place on any given day. The music is also A list (some of the best DJs in the country rotate here just to get this place on their resumes). The dance floor is small but that only helps things heat up. Oh, and they do heat up! Hot men + hot strippers + great service + strong drinks @ a reasonable price = the best gay bar in L.A. Pros: hot young crowd, great music, great drinks Cons: gets very crowded, not as fun in rain, not as fun in cold more

Saturday nights - "straight night"! 9/15/2005

One word for this place... GORGEOUS!! The venue, the staff, everything just looks great! I go every Saturday... it's amazing!! I believe one of the Lakers does this party every Saturday night and they play r&b, and cool hip hop. Gorgoeus people everywhere and celebrities at every table!! This is definitely the spot to be every Saturday night. Get there early, as it reaches capacity early. I found that if you make a table reservation, you get treated like a VIP and can hang out with all the stars! more

crazy 7/26/2005

i have heard through out the week the here lounge is a gay/lesbian bar but on monday nights it's turns into one of the hottest spots in la "snatch" a trendy party with a great social scene with some of hollywoods heavy hitters showing up every week tips this place is vip(guest list) only so get to know someone who has been there or find someone who promotes there even if your on the list get there extremely early espeacailly if you are a guy.ladies get on a list plus come dressed to impress this place gets crowded drinks are good women are crazy have a good time if you can get in Pros: women, drinks, social Cons: getting in more

Best Lesbian Spot on Thursday 7/10/2005

It might be the only lesbian spot on Thursday. The music is always hot. Dance floor always packed. The ladies are always friendly and easy to approach. The service sucks though. Security is incredibly rude for no legit reason other than they control the door. The bartenders are slow and have nerve to goof around while everyone is just plain thirsty. Drinks are overpriced. Way overpriced. But the club in itself has a great ambiance. And the friendly ladies give it a hot vibe. Pros: Incredible women, the dj holds it down, great club design Cons: new cover charge, expensive drinks, below average service more

Fun place 3/20/2005

Came here one night when they had an Asian promoter throwing a party - had a very good time. Reminds me a lot of nearby Pearl - nice cozy space, big outdoor area. Bartenders were fast and the drinks were decent. Girls were quite good looking too. more

Editorial
  • The Scene
Walk past the movie studio-sized gates and onto the sprawling patio or into the large open-spaced lounge. This is where the boys are, all right, but be warned--some of them spend more time posing than socializing. Inside, the decor is postmodern-industrial with Formica panels and smoked-screened indigo lighting. A small bar is situated in the front, but the large one in the back is higher profile.

    The Draw
The glorious gaggle of gorgeous men, quality music and posh environs make this a great pre-clubbing spot on the weekends and a destination in its own right during the week. The proximity to other hot spots like the Abbey and Rage doesn't hurt either; true scene makers eat dinner first and then venture Here for (more) drinks.
