Absolutely never again! 3/26/2012

I tried to get my Bearded Dragon seen there after I discovered a growth in his mouth. Even though I was told over the phone during the initial appointment setup that they do in fact treat Reptiles, I got the run around later that day and the next. I was called by their office repeatetly, trying frantically to refer my to another pracitce. After the second phone call I called the second one I was referred to and it ended up being a Wildlife Refuge Center, not even a Vet. Park Vet didn't even bother to do the research.....they just didn't want to see my Beardie. He could have died and they could have cared less. I ended up finding a great doctor at a practice just up the road at Falconbridge Animal Hospital. Very happy there but not at this one. more

Way too expensive for the services rendered 11/30/2010

The vets and techs are great. However, during these hard economic times, I think they are inconsiderate of the customer in how ridiculous they charge for every unnecessary lab or procedure. We've been taking our dogs here for 7 years but are now looking for a new vet due to the inflated costs. more

Love this place! 3/25/2010

I recently moved here and had to quickly find a vet for my dog. I found a troubling lump on her on Sunday and called on Monday morning for an appointment and they saw us later that day. They made my dog feel at ease through the exam and eased my worrying mind and watery eyes. You know how tough it is when you are worried about your pet. The care they showed her and the empathy they showed me left me in awe. Without hesitation I would recommend them anyone. I hope my pup never has to go back except for annual exam but if she does I know she'll be i ngreat hands. Pros: excellent staff, quick appointments more

Best Vet 7/21/2009

Both of our pets, Murphy our dog, and Max our cat, are seen at Park Vet. We have found the care there to be excellent. Recently, our dog, Murphy was run over by a car. He sustained several injuries and had to have surgery on his front leg and tail. The vets were wonderful. They stayed late, even on weekends, to take care of Murphy and be sure he was healing well. They were kind and compassionate and very thorough with their care. The charges for emergency and surgical care were fair. Murphy is now recovering and still loves to go see his friends at Park Vet. I would recommend this vet without any reservations. Pros: Comprehensive care, Compassionate, Reasonable Prices more

My cat is blind and rigid after teeth cleaning. 6/10/2009

It cost me $650 to have my cat destroyed through teeth cleaning and tooth extraction. She is now blind, rigid, incontinent, and unable to feed herself. Tomorrow she will need to show some improvement. She is now at Triangle Emergency Clinic in Durham.\r \r The WORST part of the experience was when I picked her up at the end of the day to take her to Triangle, I noticed IMMEDIATELY that her respirations were very depressed and that she appeared to be blind. The vet assured me that she was just sleepy from the Valium, and she expected that Princess would be up and moving around within hours. \r \r The message here is that the doctor could not see a half-dead cat when it was staring her BLINDLY in the face!\r \r She also assured me that the cleaning and tooth extraction had been perfectly routine and that she noticed no distress during the procedures. I would have believed her had she been able to recognize my cat in a half-dead state at the end of the day. Now I have to wonder if my cat was sh more

Expensive 6/2/2009

Park Vet is the most expensive Vet in the triangle. We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars there. Dr McHugh is a nice man, but he lives by the numbers at that hospital. For example, to declaw a cat (which I was just asking about) is an estimated 500.00 dollars -at others vets in the area, it is 200 - 250 for the same procedure! The vets there are nice, but the expense is really unfair to the customer. more

Disappointing. 5/12/2009

We were long term clients who took all of our animals there religiously. I called in during the food recall only to be told to move our cat over to a non-prescription diet (which likely would have killed him with his medical conditions). I was also treated like a negectful pet owner when I called in with small questions about our animals when I was unsure whether or not they warranted a vet visit.\r \r The vet himself was very nice, but his receptionists leave much to be desired. We switched vets and never have these issues any more. more

Found a good one! 1/28/2009

Park Vet is the place to go! I went there for a second opinion for my dog's skin issue. The first vet couldn't fix it. After reading through what the other vet had done and listening to the things I had tried, they were able to determine what was the cause. I'm happy to say she is no longer a hairless lab and is back to being beautiful! The best thing for me was that they loved my dog even when she was not-so-pretty and always greeted her as though she were the queen that I think she is! Great experience. more

Great Vet 1/27/2009

I came on to let everyone know what a great Vet Hospital I found and was shocked to see all the negatives. My experience was totally different. I switched vets because I wasn't happy w/ my other one. These guys were very nice and professional. They offered to get my history from my other vet, made the appointment for the same week and said they couldn't wait to meet me and my dog Ginger - even called her by name. Then, when I got there the place is so nice inside-no smells, staff was welcoming. I agree they looked a little busy and maybe could have used another person up front, but when I checked out the same girl who helped in the room just went around and checked me out - with a big smile on her face. The Dr. was awesome, really friendly and gave me some ideas that my other vet hadn't about my pets health. Sorry the rest of you were unhappy, but I highly recommend them to anyone who wants great care for their pet. Pros: professional staff, clean and my dog left happy! Cons: Busy road more

The Best 1/16/2009

The doctors and staff at Park Vet are amazing -- you can expect caring, up-to-date and skilled treatment for all your pets. My cat and dog have been treated there for 14 years and 11 years, respectfully. We've had falls, asthma and two bouts of cancer and all have been successfully treated. The staff knows me and my animals so well it feels like family. The kennel staff does a great job, too. I would recommend this vet practice to everyone! more

Overpriced, Impractical Business 12/10/2008

I have found Park Vet to be extremely expensive. If you have a lot of disposable income, this place is wonderful. Their favorite saying seems to be 'to better assess the condition' and you can easily spend hundreds of dollars in cytologies, various levels of bloodwork, ultrasounds, etc. on each pet. You are best served by going in already armed with knowledge of treatment options and then fighting for reasonable courses of actions. This is not the place for practical solutions to pet health problems. I wish this level of healthcare was available for my children! Pros: Willing to do *anything* to help your pet, clean Cons: Expensive, impractical, don't listen to the customer more

Great vet 12/3/2008

They are good about making last minute appointments with something happens to your animal. They try to get you in quickly. It's pricey but so is any vet I've been to. more
