DO NOT USE HELMS!! \r \r So I bought a brand new townhome in March 2011 and the first winter in this new townhome the HVAC broke. So I called KB homes and they sent out Helms who installed the system. Took them over a week and five visits before they were able to fix it. Then in the summer my AC stopped working and once again I called KB homes who sent out Helms. They ""fixed"" it again and then in November 2012 my hvac broke again (this time it was the portion of the HVAC in the attic). Called KB and sent out Helms to ""fix"" it since it was still under warranty. Now it's October 2013 and my ac is leaking condensation around the vent in my entry hall. So not only is something once again wrong with the unit now I have water damage to my ceiling because of this. I called KB and they can't help me due to my warranty with them being over the 2 year date. So I called Helms....since they installed the unit and obviously there is something wrong with this unit...but they told me that I would have to pay them to come out and do the ""service"" call even though I've explained that the unit itself is a dud and they have already been to my house over 8 times to fix the unit in a little over two years. The unit and my townhome were brand new so why am I having all these problems with a ""new"" unit. I will never use them again and I recommend that any one thinking of using them should think twice. more

BEWARE! Don't go there! In December 2012, I called Helms because my 12 mo.old Carrier heat pump was running constatntly. 2-5min off every 3-4 hrs in heating to 68o..now, in June: 2-4 min off per hr with A/C and I can't get my house temp below 76o! The techs have been out many, many times over the last 6 months, replacing several things. The whole unit should have been replaced after the first 8 service calls but they've played around for 6 months!!! Glad I bought the extended warrenty. Something needs to be done. Its gone on too long. Its still short cycling but when I pressed for a replacement, they say, if it heats and cools, there's nothing wrong with my unit! Its not unusual for a unit to run up to 20 hours a day when its 35o! Talk about fuel effecient!!!! I don't like what it does to my Duke bills. Dreading July's bill already. The only good thing I have to say is techs are always nice and polite. That doesn't negate the fact that they can't fix my unit. I have contacted Carrier. To date, 6/26/2012, I haven't heard from them. My 11 y/o Trane, with holes in the coil, worked better than this new Carrier. I'm so sorry I ever bought a Carrier and equally sorry I ever dealt with Helm's. more

Very happy with their service 6/19/2009

We've used Helms Heating & Air since we moved to Indian Trail 8 years ago and have always been extremely happy with their service. They always show up when they say they will and have reasonable prices and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend them! more
