Heaven Massage and Wellness Center

Yesterday, I surprised myself by venturing outside of my normal routine, and when I was in the Encino Area driving back to Los Angeles, Out of the corner of my eye I saw this sign on Ventura Blvd - Heavens Foot Curiously, I was fatigued, and wanted to get out of my normal routine, and decided to give it a try. Well climbing those steps to the second floor was the best thing I did for myself this year. Danny, explained, he had 18 yrs experience in Thai / Jap / Chinese / Swedish massage techniques, and that he would do a variety of massages depending on level that I felt ost comfortable. He assured me that he would not be rough and would only do what he thought would benefit me the most. I , for once was speechless, didn't know how to react, This first Thai massage I treated to myself. could not compare to the Physical Therapy I had on an old neck injury. This treatment was far better than any Therapy I had previously recieved from the Orthopedic Doctors. I owe my greatest respect and gratitude to Danny. Now, don't get me wrong, but I marveled how he systematically and thouroughly examined every part of my body while I was still clothed. I only had to roll up the legs of the jeans to the midcalf, and took off my shirt. He didn't make me feel ashamed that I was overweight or did not have a gym perfect body. He was totally professional in his approach. Once I decided to trust him, he knew where my weak, painful, spots of my body where. I didn't even realize I had pain emminating from different areas of my body, but he was able to soothe the muscles and stretch the nerves out to give me the relief I had needed in a long while. Danny knew I didn't know what to expect, he did mention I tight all over, and yeah I was, and didn't know it. Thanks again Heaven Foot for introducting Danny to me, I'll be back. WOW! I get massages frequently and this was THE BEST place I have EVER gone! I actually felt guilty for receiving such an AMAZING and THOROUGH massage at such a ridiculously LOW PRICE! My massage specialist was Nok and she was simply wonderful! She concentrated on the areas I had requested without neglecting the rest of my body for a full body experience. I don't know enough positive adjectives to write about my experience, but they all apply. The environment is clean, inviting, friendly, and most importantly relaxing. The only thing that disappointed me was that it had to end (ha ha)! Heaven Foot & Body Massage is the ONLY place I will go for now on. It's an experience to be had and I HIGHLY recommend it. These women are insanely strong. Don't let their sweet demeanors fool you either because once they're in that massage stall kneading every last one of the knots in your back, you'll cry out for your mama....which I almost did since she was right in the next stall. This is probably the most intense massage session I've ever had, and I'm talking even more intense than the full body Thai massages I had in Thailand where the little old Thai ladies would straddle my back and twist and tug my limbs every which way (don't let those ladies fool you either. I have to admit, I don't really get massages very often mostly b/c I don't really like strange people touching me. So whenever I have gotten one, its been at the behest of my mother who really loves them. And since it was her Birthday today and I really love HER, I treated us to hour-long full body massage at $30 a pop. My body winces to think what the massage would have been like if I had requested a "hard" massage as oppossed to the "soft to medium" version. I had to ask Vannessa, my masseuse to soften it up a bit on a few occassions. She told me I had a lot of tightness in my shoulders and neck and that I probably sit at the computer working too much-okay so the woman is strong AND smart. She warned me that I'd probably be sore for the next couple of days...yeah, no kidding. Its only a mere 11 hours later and my body's already feeling the effects of her strong fingers and elbows. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaing ( okay maybe just a little) I know there are some people who really love an intense hard massage, and if you're one of them, this is the place for you. I think I'm a massage wimp. At any rate, despite my lack of massage experience, I'd recommend this place for those looking for a reasonable priced massage expereince in a relatively comfortable and clean environment. I'ts no high end spa or anything but you defintely get your money's worth. The staff was friendly and accommodating. more

There is also a Starbucks right near by that you can visit before or afterwards. The place is very clean and the service is great, especially the physical therapists--Nok and Vanessa. Tasteful surroundings, private rooms, clean, and comfortable massage chair/tables and my masseur "Tommy" (I think the Thai people are being nice to us by changing their long beautiful names to something more familiar...) was skillful, attentive and made my body go places I didn't know it could (not being a student of yoga!) My girlfriend and I got foot/body rubs in one of the "couples" rooms for $30 each and it couldn't have been more worth it. The tranquil room featured dim lights, soft music and sounds of softly chirping birds. The friendly masseurs rub you in a reclining lounge chair, starting with your feet first by soaking them in a bucket. While your feet soak, your neck is rubbed. Then you're covered in a cozy blanket and recline for a perfect foot rub. I requested "medium" pressure and found it perfect. They rub all the way up your legs. Then you turn over for a back rub followed by work on your neck, head and arms. The whole experience was soothing and refreshing and I kept thinking what a deal it was for $30/hour. It's something I would consider treating myself to once a week!! So affordable with parking behind the building and a friendly staff, soothing environment and a spotless bathroom. I forgot to mention they give you a bottle of water before the rub. I've never felt compelled to right a review before but this was completely worth it. Usually you'd have to go to Monterey Park to find a special mix of Thai/Chinese foot and body rubbing that they do at Heaven. I will be back next week and the week after. For 30$, the right price I thought, what coul I lose? The place was so clean and professional i felt like I was in an expensive spa. I am definitely coming back her. I love a good foot massage and the place is right down the street from where I work so I dropped by after driving down Ventura Blvd and saw thier hudge purple sign. I've been to other foot massage places but this place was the BEST. Instead of one big room with chairs, all of the rooms are small and individual or for two. While my feet were soaking I had a great back rub and neck massage. Then I reclined in the chair which was almost like a bed, I almost feel asleep. My smiling therapist Danny was sooo good and strong he gave me almost like a deep tissue massage . I have told many of my friends and can't wait to go back for more. Pros: Great relaxing massage for a reasonable price. Cons; Location is upstais and hard to find the door.( go to the back entrance) Pros: Best massage for the price Cons: Hard to find the front door- use the rear entrance more
