Heatmasters--New

After buying an ignition unit for $450., the tech left the old part. I looked it up on Amazon and found many for less than $20.00. Emailed and complained. Next day some bully from the place called and kept repeating that I'm; "All wrong" and "just don't understa d'(I'm a senior & female) He said he'd;"look into it and mail me a check"... Uh huh. Filed a complaint with atty gen. No response. more

I got an estimate 10 years ago, they tried to sell me a new furnace based on looking at it through the door of the furnace room. I got it cleaned for $400 elsewhere and that was all that was wrong with it. Now they call about 20+ times per year hounding me about coming to do maintance. I an not a customer, never have been, they are calling illegally. I am no the nationaldonotcall registry. They have been reported to the national do not call registry over 100 times and I am on my second go round with the Better Business Bureau trying to get my name removed from their call list............seriously I don't believe they will ever stop................I told the salesman they were welcome to come over and look at it but that I live 2200 miles away...........they hung up on my no apology no nothing.........very rude! I have given them one star but in reality they deserve none....... more

I called heatmasters last night when my furnace went out. they came out right away, fixed it and did so at a reasonable cost. Nothing but good things to say! more

I saw a few bad reviews but they must have been the exception to the rule. They were great, affordable, on time and even followed up with a friendly call to make sure everything went well. Highly recommend. more

I called in last night to arrange a service call for this morning between 8am and 11am. at exactly 8:01 I was called by their office to ask me if it was alright if there service person come in the next 30 minutes. He arrived within the next half hour, politely removed his boots before entering my home (it snowed today) and then he serviced my furnace. They were right on time, polite and charged a very competitive price. The service technician also let me know about a few issues to keep an eye out for and was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend. more

One of their technicians just finished up repairing my furnace and he offered to walk me through step by step what the problems were. It was nice to see a company that focused on my comfort with the project to ensure I wasn't getting the runaround. I would highly recommend using them. Great prices and nice servie people. more

Never used Heatmasters but saw their sticker on my furnace with a note for coupling replacement in 2002. Never had any problems until my furnace started making loud noises. After a cursory glance and quick comment that my furnace was too old, service guy gave me an estimate for a new pump $1k or a new furnace $4,200. I became suspicious after service man was whining about how this winter was warm and slow for them. I called someone else who told me coupling needed to be replaced again (only lasts about 10 years so it was time). This part was less than $15. (And just to check I got an estimate for a new pump (pump alone only costs $100, new furnace for $3,750.) You would think maybe he would check that same part since they replaced before!! Please don't call them! They will try to take advantage of you or rip you off bc you might not know any better or they are having a slow season. I'm pissed I'm out of $89 for the service call I got charged by Heatmasters. more

Called to set an appointment for a furnace cleaning and radiator repair, which was already supposedly checked and recommended by a technician last fall. Per Kathy in the service department, she found the ticket, but no monetary estimate was ever done, so she was to check with the tech and call back, never did. Called back 3 days later, on hold forever. Guess they must not need my business. Will have to start all over with someone else. more

My recurculation pump (B&G) seized and they came out and replaced the pump and recharged the system. The pump retails at max for $225 and I was charged $985 I'm assuming $760 for 4 hours of work since the receipt did not detail the cost of parts & labor. I was not present at the time of service and have requested mutiple times since 30 Dec 2008 for the office people to have the technician call me to discuss the work that he did but as of 20 Jan 2009 I've yet to hear back from them. more

I won't bore you with the details, I'll just say that there are dozens of other HVAC companies out there and you should avoid Heatmaster like the plague. Basically they don't know Chicago code so don't trust that their work will pass inspection. If it doesn't you'll have to pay them extra to change it... if you hire someone else it "void the warranty." If you have them come out to do any maintenance -- even as simple as replacing a fuse. You'll need to pay. If you do it yourself it will "void the warranty". And god forbid you actually to hire them to fix the mistakes they originally made. They're too busy screwing other people to be bothered to call back with an estimate. more

I called them for service when my central air went out in my apartment,i scheduled a appointment and the person showed up over an hour to fix it...on top of that they were not prepared and did not bring a ladder needed to get to my air conditioner unit. therefore i had to run next door and borrow a ladder from a neighbor, the guy inspected the unit in my apartment and then went up on the roof and was up there a good 20 minutes,came back down and told me the freon was low and and that he had replaced it. well i ran my air conditioner all day and it still was not working..my df called a friend and they came by later that night to take a look at it,and come to find out that the person who said they put the freon in which i was charged for never did,as my air conditioner was very low on freon. more
