Both of my Siberian Huskies have needed surgery, one fairly major for a stomach obstruction the other for a tumor on her toe. Both went extremely well. The staff treats us like family, especially the dogs. All three of my dogs love going to this vet, they wag their tails and wiggle with excitement. more

Heartland Animal Hospital Fantastic Service - Highly Recommend! 1/17/2014

I have been taking my animals to Heartland Animal Hospital since 1997 when I moved into the area. I would highly recommend the entire staff and both Dr. Hart and Dr. Gilbertson are very knowledgeable and attentive. When one senior dog was diagnosed with Diabetes and the other senior dog had Cushing ’s disease, they were very patient with my endless calls and questions. It is a rare treat to have an entire staff treat your animals as their own. I would never consider taking my precious four-legged kids anywhere else. more

They are THE BEST! 12/26/2012

When we discovered the best dog on the planet, our Bruno, had developed lymphoma we were in shock. And especially at Christmas. Bru had been going to Dr. Hart for his yearly check ups so she was our logical choice. She and her staff, Mel and Jessica to name a couple, have been more than accomodating and always have time to answer any questions I may have. They get us in on short notice and most importantly, they know how important our buddy, Bru, is to us. They have made this whole unfortunate situation much easier to deal with. And Bru is in remission! I will be forever thankful for the kindness and quality of care everyone at Heartland has shown us. more

Great 7/6/2012

The staff at Heartland Animal Hospital is great!! They always make sure you are welcomed when you walk in that front door. We never have any problem getting an appointment. Melissa is one of the BEST vet tech. and Ketel loves to see her. We lost a few pets in the past and the compassion they showed to my family will always be remembered. I would definitely recommend Heartland Animal Hospital To All! more

Heartland is #1 10/31/2011

Heartland Animal Hospital is hands down BEST-OF-CLASS!!!!!\r I have a 13-year-old yorkie-poo that is diabetic and virtually blind, and a 5-year-old rat terrier who had been abused and left in my backyard when she was about 6 months old. The care that they have both recieved from Dr. Bajuk, Dr. Hart and all of the staff is outstanding. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else for their care. Now, if I could only find a medical clinic for myself that's HALF as good as Heartland I'd have it made! more

Great Vet Practice 10/24/2011

The facility and staff at Heartland are great! I have used several vet's in the past but none of them compare to Heartland's passion for animals and their well-being.\r \r They consistently place the health of our cats above anything else - accomodating our busy schedule, as well as checking on our cats after they visit the vet. The staff love animals and always make a point to stop by and say hi to our cats when we are in the waiting room.\r \r The quality of care, knowledge of Dr. Heart and equipment in the practice is world class. We entrust the well-being of our cats to Heartland and we would highly recommend Heartland. more

Superior Animal hospital 10/11/2011

I have never experienced such a wonderful Animal hospital like Heartland! Both Dr. Bajuk and Dr. Hart are such caring, warm, friendly and extremely attentive doctors, not only to my dog but to me as well. They always ensure all of my questions are answered and always follow up as to my buddys status after the visit.\r \r Everytime I go to Heartland my dog literally RUNS into the hospital and greets every single staff member with kisses.\r \r Every person that works at Heartland loves what they do and it clearly shows in the excellent service they extend to the animals and owners.\r \r It is always a pleasure to visit and I will always recommend Heartland to any animal owner who wants superior care for their pet! more

Quality Pet Care 6/9/2011

Our family has used Heartland Animal Hospital since 2002. They are very qualified, professional, responsive, caring and empathetic. They provide boarding services, surgical services and home visits. They have kept our pets healthy even when we weren't sure that our pet(s) would be healthy in the long term. We will never use another vet. We cherish the personal relationships we have developed over the years. more

Casey & Emma give 2 thumbs up (or they would if they could!) 7/26/2010

We have "twin" Black Labs that just LOVE visiting Heartland. They each have issues - one with diabetes and the other with arthritis and the care and patience that the entire staff shows them (and me!) make our visits fun - not to mention that the dogs love getting on the scale!\r \r When Casey was first diagnosed with diabetes we were also dealing with the death of my Mother-in-Law who lived in Texas. My Father was willing to stay at my house with the dogs and administer the 2 necessary shots per day while my husband and I attended the funeral. I was a wreck and was worried about what I was leaving my Dad to deal with here. Dr. Paul offered to have someone come by my house to help my Dad if he needed it!! A Vet house call??? Would never have expected that.....\r \r I wish I could choose 6 stars! more

An All Around Positive Experience! 7/25/2010

We have been so very pleased with Heartland Animal Hospital. Our family rescued its very first dog in 2005. Since then the staff here has shared their extensive knowledge to help us confidently care for Roonie. With their help, this important member of our family gets the proper nutrition, grooming and health care (maintenance and preventative). Dr. Jennifer Hart identified Roonie's heart murmur and she has been incredibly thorough in his care. She has always explained all procedures and/or options available in any circumstance of Roonie's care, to help us make educated and informed decisions on his behalf. The staff here is friendly, patient, and gentle. They welcome calls and questions or concerns. They are great at making each visit comfortable for the pet and pet owners. The facility is always clean and organized. They do a fantastic job of following up with their patients and tracking necessary procedures or vaccines for our dog in a timely manner. I have been taking my "fur babies" to Dr. Hart and her staff for almost 13 years. The staff is compassionate, professional, and extremely progressive in their knowledge and practice. Just last week Dr. Hart recommended a new one-time antibiotic shot that would take the place of me having to administer pills to my 16 year-old cat every day for two weeks. The part I like is that this shot itself is not really new, it's new to Heartland Animal Hospital. They waited to see if it was a safe drug and then started using it. That's typical of their practice - they don't jump into anything without the research and yet are extremely current and even ahead of the curve when it comes to innovative care. They are proud (and should be) of their AAHA certification and it shows in their day-to-day operations.\r \r I have had two cats reach ages of 16+ years under Dr. Hart and Dr. Bajuk's care. Dr. Bajuk and Dr. Hart are wonderful. They have done everything imaginable for our pets over the past 10 years. They truly look for the best for our family. The techs are equally excelent - Melissa and Suzy have gone beyond the call with our pets and explaining issues for our family. Lee, Janice, Zach and Kim in the recepetion area have made us feel as we are part of the Heartland family and always been as helpful as possible. more

Doesn't your pet deserve the best? 7/16/2010

I've taken my cats to Heartland Animal Hospital for about the past 15 years. I have a senior cat with health issues and Dr. Hart has made sure Shadow has the best care and treatment to provide him with the best quality of life. The entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate. more

World Class Vet Care 7/11/2010

I have been taking my my kittie's to Heartland since they first arrived in our town. They provide the best care for my pet's, and have helped me through various different and some heart breaking times. The staff is excellent with the handling and care they provide my pets, and after all of my years going to them, I also can call them friends. Both Dr.'s have excellent credentials, and I am confident in both. The hospital is immaculate, and I would not consider ever going anywhere else. You can have confidence in this clinic knowing you will get the best care for your pets for their lifetime. more

When you want the best.... 7/10/2010

We have been taking our 4-legged ?children? to Heartland for 16 years. The entire staff is friendly, extremely competent, compassionate and their bedside manner is absolutely outstanding whether the visit is for a routine exam or saying ?good bye? to a beloved pet. All phone calls are promptly returned by either the doctor or a staff member and follow-up calls by the doctor after a visit is normal. Procedures and costs are explained in detail and any questions answered. When necessary a referral to a specialist is provided. We know our 4-legged ?children? are in good hands when we walk through the front doors at Heartland. more

Wouldn't take my girls Anywhere else 6/14/2010

We've been taking our animals to Heartland since 1994 and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. The staff is simply outstanding, when it came time to say good-bye to our cats Sue was there by our side with tears in her eyes. And when we brought our rescued girls to them for the first time Melissa was excited to meet them. \r \r Then there's Dr. Hart, simply the best vet I've ever encountered. Her compassion and bedside manner exceeds any doctor that I have been to. more

We love Heartland! 5/29/2010

We have been going to Heartland for 10 years now, first with our cat and now also for our dogs. The care the entire staff at Heartland provides is top notch. I treat my pets as my babies, and I know at Heartland they get the best medical treatment but also feel they get the extra loving touch that's so important to me. We absolutely love Heartland and wouldn't consider going anywhere else! more

Competent & Compassionate Pet Care 5/27/2010

I have been taking our three Vizslas and cats to Heartland Animal Hospital for many years because of the outstanding care they provide. The doctors and staff are extremely competent, compassionate and caring. The facility is immaculate. Procedures and cost estimates are explained in detail. I highly recommend the laser surgery offered for neutering and declaws since it is far less invasive than regular surgery. We have used Heartland for dog and cat preventative medicine, senior dog care, multiple surgeries including neutering, dental cleaning, euthanizing, x-rays, declaw and lab work and never experienced any problems. One of our dogs was referred to a specialist for treatment and after each appointment with the specialist we received a follow up call from Dr. Bajuk. I feel the quality of care received at Heartland is well worth the cost. more

Absolutely, Positively THE BEST!! 5/21/2010

My husband and I have been Heartland Animal Hospital cheerleaders since May of 1994. Over the years our many cats have been lovingly cared for by the entire staff. From the joys of new kittens to the tears of saying good-bye to our beloved Jed, everyone at Heartland has been incredible. The compassion shown to our cats as well as ourselves is amazing. The facility is spotless and has no sign of the odor often associated with vet clinics. The technology onsite is first rate and the referrals to specialists have been wonderful. Procedures are explained, options are outlined and time is taken at every appointment. Phone calls are promptly returned and follow-up calls after surgery or an illness are the rule - not the exception. I am not sure why any of the reviews here complain about the prices, I mean if you want to find a cut-rate, sub-par facility that charges less....be my guest. As for us, our cats are members of our family and we will not skimp on their care. more

  • Heartland Animal Hospital was established in 1993. Our hospital is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. Only 15% of all animal hospitals in North America are accredited. Accreditation allows us to provide exceptional client service and patient care. Our veterinarian, Dr. Jennifer Hart, is board certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners specializing in canine and feline medicine. There are only 14 other veterinarians in Illinois that have achieved this certification. We offer compassionate care, specializing in dogs and cats. Each of our dedicated technical staff members has over 10 years of experience working at Heartland Animal Hospital. Our affiliations with the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management provide our clients with the highest quality veterinary care. We offer specialty services such as laser surgery (for declaws, neuters, etc.) and web camera monitoring of hospitalized patients. We have a strong community involvement, including long term support of Bartlett Little League. Our commitment to veterinary medicine is also evident in our own homes.
