Hearthside and Home caused a gas leak while installing a gas fireplace insert at our home. Then they left without detecting it, or at least without informing us, and - when we called them - wouldn't come back out to fix it that afternoon. They told us we'd have to wait until 9:30 the next morning. We wound up having to break a window to ventilate the basement, and then we called the gas company (PSE) to address the leak. When PSE arrived, they informed us that the work was done without proper permitting, and they shut off our gas. That night and through the next day, we were without hot water, heat, a stove, and a dryer. H&H had to uninstall the new gas line the next day so our gas could be turned back on. One installer from H&H admitted that no one at the company has a license to install gas plumbing - and that they all just use the license # of a former employee when necessary to get through permitting.
