Brought my dog here many times. They always take care of him and treat him well. I recommend this place to everyone.

Worst

We fully expected to drop >300 for a check up, blood panel, rabies and distemper vaccinations. But they wanted to do tons more - blood panels that other vets said they order only ...

A wonderful vet and great experience 7/12/2006

In a city where it's so hard to find good customer service and people who actually care, this business stands out. Everyone is so friendly and courteous and everyone who works there is a true animal lover. I have been taking my dog there for a year and a half and have never had anything other than a positive experience. I just recently obtained a new rescue dog, and had her spayed by the adoption center. That night when she seemed to be in more discomfort than usual for this type of operation, I called Heart of Chelsea - and though I had not gotten the new dog spayed there the doctors were so helpful with recommending what to do. Now we are in the process of treating her for complications and would not dream of going anywhere else. Not only are all of the doctors excellent doctors, the customer service is amazing and the staff will take time to explain the situation and treatment with genuine concern. Great care with a holistic point of view. 7/6/2006

I was very impressed. The desk staff were so friendly and clearly loved animals. I brought my new rescued kitten here on a recommendation from the pet store. This is not my usual vet. Pros: Great staff, knowledgeable folks, sweet ambience Cons: none more

Loving place to bring your family animals for care!! 7/2/2006

People here really love animals and get almost as excited about seeing them are you do. They help you and your animal family member(s) feel welcomed and well cared for. The vets give a thorough examination, explain and review pertinent information and procedures with you and get back to you the next day about any lab results, etc. Here's a place in the heart of Chelsea that has its heart full of love for all the creatures that inhabit our earth including us humans. Pros: very warm environment; doctors and animal technicians know their stuff and explain well. more

We have been going to Heart of Chelsea since our pug was 10 weeks old. Even though my dog is super-excitable, they calm her down and handle her well every time we go. My dog pulls to get into their office whenever we walk by! Pros: caring, loving doctors and staff; available all the time Cons: not close to my home more

One of the best animal hospitals. 6/23/2006

This animal hosptial is amazing. I was actually bitten by my cat in their lobby. To no fault of anyone's just, my cat's instinct against my own instinct. They were absolutely wonderful about the whole situation. I think I met every employee working there that day, because everyone there came to see how I was, because I was pretty shaken up. The let me board her for the night so I could get to the doctor's on time. Than when I went to pick up my cat in the morning everyone that knew about it asked how I was doing. The whole experience, not including getting bitten, has a great one. I had never been to animal hospital that was so warm and friendly. I actually had to call about a question and I didn't even need to tell them my cat's name and just by explaining a little bit of my situation, they knew who I was. Dr. Gabrielle, one of the doctor's, Ricardo, one of the staff, and Bash Halow, the manager, were absolutely amazing!! I felt like I really need to mention their names because they were so amazing. Now, if only the people that work at doctor's offices for humans were as amazing as this staff. Pros: Everything Cons: None more

The support staff is quite good and that's unusual 6/20/2006

I changed vets and chose this one. The doctor was good but the support staff was even better. Everyone I interacted with was intelligent and well-trained. They were good listeners too and able to answer questions rather than get that blank look that so many support staff people have. I even found a free parking space across the street, but I don't think that is likely to occur again. Pros: Good support staff Cons: There was a big markup on non Rx items, but I think that's the norm everywhere. more

Heart of Chelsea is wonderful! I travel all the way from Murray Hill. The staff is very knowledgeable and the vets are amazing. Any question I had was answered and question I would not have thought to ask were also answered. Pros: Friendly Staff, Puppy play groups, Great Vets Cons: Not in Murray Hill more

Wonderful Service!!! 5/31/2006

I've been taking my dog to this vet for several years now and they are always so friendly, on time and geniunely care about all of their clients and their pets. We've seen several of the doctors there and all of them are so sweet and take time to check everything out, not rushing at all. I highly recommend this vet : ) more

The staff is excellent!!! When my dog was sick I could always reach the vet and she was always quick to call me back or just check in. They are also open late which is great for me with my work schedule. more

Really Understanding 5/23/2006

The staff takes the time to sit down with you and explain everything thats happening step by step. Being a new pet owner can be tough, I was given advise about payment plans and coupons if I needed them. The doctors return your phone calls the very same day and their are doctors on call when the office is closed. Overall heart of Chelsea is understanding, friendly and respectful. Everyone at Heart of Chelsea is SUPER patient and nice and informative. I have a crazy dog who gets so excited at Heart of Chelsea that he tends to scare people off with his over enthusiasm every time, but the staff is wonderful and very caring. They will try their best to answer all your questions and even those they do not have immediate information they will look up for you! more

When my 6 month old kitten was sick, they gave me an emergency appointment without any trouble, treated her and her sister and followed up with phone calls. Their dedication to animals is apparent and I would recommend them to anyone in the neighborhood needing a good vet. more

Excellent service at reasonalbe prices 5/10/2006

We took my three year old cat there to have his teeth cleaned and they discovered, unfortunately, a preexisting heart condition. We've put him on medicine and continue to hope for the best but without Heart of Chelsea we never would have known. Great doctors, excellent service, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended. more

This animal hospital is my last stop,after changing 2 vets.The price are extremely reasonable(cheaper than those I've seen) and the vets are all very friendly(seen 3 different vets).The staff are excellent,except for 1 who always seemed impatient.Dont except fanciful interior(and exterior) but that means not paying the extra to cover their interior!Very helpful and knowledgable staff.Highly recommended! Pros: friendly vets, knowledgable, best price around Cons: sometimes not-so-frie, ndly staff more

A cozy little clinic for the pets, well maintained, friendly staff and very knowledgable vets are on site almost on a full-time schedule, therefore they are almost always available to answer questions. Follow-ups are done constantly. However, it's impossible to find a parking and the waiting area is a little too small. If your pet is not used to being with other dogs/cats, be prepared. Pros: knowledgable vets, long hours, friendly+clean place Cons: no parking, expensive, tight space more

Ridiculously Expensive 4/28/2006

Chelsea Animal Hospital was ridiculously expensive...They do indeed take care of your pet and are extremely friendly and accomodating with you and your animals but the pricing is outrageous. Anything they do during the exam is an additional fee that they just tack on - be careful. You can literally walk out of there and have dropped hundreds of dollars. more

Outrageously expensive! 4/12/2006

This vet practice comes across as friendly and caring and yes, they call every couple of days to see how your pet is feeling but you pay dearly for these little niceties. Every small task they perform is charged to your bill and none of the things they do are included in the exam or followup treatments' basic charges. It is very hard to get out of there without spending hundreds of dollars (even on follow-up visits). They are constantly selling you meds, foods, toothpaste/teeth cleaning accessories, vitamins, etc. that you really don't need.
