One of God's gifts to the less fortunate 11/4/2010

My experience at the Haven of Mercy Thrist Store was always postive. They offer used TVs for far below what you might pay at a retail store. They even have antique items if you are more fortunate than most! What they do to support the less fortunate is remarkable. You can tell that God has His hand over this wonderful group of people working there. I have been witness to remarkable kindness and courtesy from the folks that work there. I also know that most, if not all of them, donate their time and are not paid for doing so. Maybe more of us could benefit by doing the same? more

Not happy 6/17/2010

First off...Haven of Mercy is a NON-PROFIT organization but the thrift store charges taxes. Not only do they charge taxes, they think they can charge however much ""taxes"" they want. Hopefully, I'm not the only one who sees something wrong with this. Second, their desk-workers have the worst attitude. The woman who works the counter looks and acts as though she hates the world and talks to her co-workers harshly while customers are within earshot. I used to enjoy going to ""the haven"" to buy things but now I'd prefer The Good Samaritan. Pros: good prices on good stuff Cons: read details more
