i just recently moved here from Las Vegas working in the industry so i know good service, i have been to Harrys two times and the second will defiantly be my last!!!!! its not the food the food is great but youre male bartenders are horriably RUDE every time you ask for something they seem annoyed and thats only after they have decided to come up to you after walking past you 5 times and if there is a female that walks in after you gets helped first!! more

Best Bar in Kansas City 2/3/2011

I have been going to Harry's since it opened. Always a good crowd, good music and a great menu. Great place to meet friends and hang out inside in the winter or on the patio in the summer. The owner, Harry, is a witty, charming guy with a wealth of knowledge about the bar business and traditional country music. He is always bringing a great music to the River Market. If you haven't been, GO! more

Bad Customer Service and Rude Managers 8/20/2010

The drinks are great, the food is ok and the servers are friendly, but when our group had a problem with an error on the bill things turned ugly. We were charged full-price for a happy hour item that should have been half-price and just needed a simple apology and correction; we received neither. The shift manager stonewalled us and we ended up leaving very upset. A letter of complaint was written and received by the general manager who promptly contacted us with what we hoped would be a quick resolution. Instead, we heard the same line as the lower manager that there was no error and they were not going to do anything for us. It took some reasoning on our part before a refund was offered, but there was no apology or warm invitation back. I don't understand how a business, in the struggling River Market area, can afford to upset loyal customers and not care. We won't be going back unless there are some major management changes. more

Great Service- Guest Is #1 Focus 12/23/2008

I love how everytime I walk in to Harry's Country Club I know that the guest's satisfaction is the #1 priority - the waitstaff does their best to help me pick out new items that I would like bsased on my usual ""go to's"" and always have something new and fun to try--- and the food and drinks are amazing! Pros: beautiful bar, great staff, awesome patio, great value more

Owner is Rude and Obnoxious 12/8/2008

Owner (Harry) is extremely RUDE! Several posters had my exact experience.....the Manager/Owner....Harry, is an unprofessional rude person that tries to start angry altercations with customers. If you complain about the food or being overcharged, this guy will say something about ""I don't want to see you suffer"", and maybe ""you should be a consultant"", then he actually threw a menu at us. His behavior was so bizarre, that my friends and I thought that maybe we had done something to deserve being talked to like animals. But apparently this is his normal behavior. Bad Service, Rude Owner 9/29/2008

I can understand slow service if the place is packed but on this night it wasn't, as well as they had around 8 waitresses working. But even this was acceptable, but when it came to tab out, our waitress told us she wouldn't break up the tab, we told her this was the only way we were going to be able to pay. Along with this they seemed to have added a couple drinks that we didn't have onto the tab. We informed them of this and of course she was grumpy and kept repeated that ""This needs to be taken care of right now."" Then when she was inside one of our friends overheard the owner telling her to ""Charge those kids whatever you want."" He then came out and confronted us about ""Thinking we've been over charged."" We told him there was an additional drink and pointed to the two glasses containing a lime to prove that there were 2 and not 3 of the beverages. Then he stood behind us and while we were discussing a Mexican restaurant, he again confronted us and asked if we were talking about his place. And said he didn't want anybody ""Suffering in silence."" We informed him we were not and if we were suffering, it certainly would not be in silence. He was very hostile when speaking to us and not showing any concern what so ever. We decided right then and there we would not be returning. I never leave reviews unless service is outstanding and I think they deserve the credit, it just so happens this time the service and owner were so rude and demeaning to us, it worked the other way around. more

Wait staff & bartenders are great. Food is not that great. Whatever atmosphere is there is completely ruined by the offensive and narrow minded owner. Be cautious when trying to plan a group party at this establishment... what they promise is not what you will receive. It is a disappointment- with all the great bars in the River Market district and Midtown KC- this is one to skip- unless you like abuse. Pros: Waitstaff great despite unruly owner. Cons: HORRIBLE FOR LARGE GROUPS. more

Horrendous Customer Service 8/3/2008

I arrived to celebrate the 30th birthday of one of my best friends last friday. After 3 years of marriage to a best friend of ours, he found Harry's Country Club to be a new and interesting venue to host the party for them and 34 close friends. Having planned this event with the bar owner, ""Harry,"" over one month in advance, my friend Matt was surprised to find there was no area saved for the party, as they arrived at seven O'clock. more

I've been to Harry's a number of times and the food vener disappoints. The fish & chips pn Fraidays is great - fresh fish and hand battered. The menu is npt huge, but everything I have tried I loved. It's a great place to hang out - and tried one of the 'yard beers'. Pros: Prices, Quality, Atmosphere more

Go for drinks, not food! 5/15/2005

The food was not good. I ordered a fried catfish (po' boy) sandwich, that was almost pure bread. A total waste of calories, but I had to eat. No one in our group was impressed with the food. We loved the atmosphere and will return for drinks! more
