Don't Bother 4/21/2012

Overpriced, go to Gander Mountain or Campmour. I hate to say anything bad about people with disabilities, but the owner has some serious mental health issues and should not be allowed near any customers. The daughter is very nice, I feel bad she has to see her mother's behavior. more

From Someone Who Knows 2/27/2012

I've lived up the road from this store my whole life and over the years it has been the last resort for those last minute emergency dresses. I can honestly say that I've never shopped here without feeling completely disrespected and offended as a customer, and personally as a young woman. The owner and the other women working here greet you with a flash of a fake smile, and in the same glance contort their faces back to the origional miserable expression that they ALL have on. They follow you throughout the store and haunt you with their eyes. Your treated like a dirtbag-thief befor you even start shopping. Their typical routine is to offer help (without a smile) and if you dont like anything they show you, they act suspicious of your shopping, and then comes the stalking and aggitated sighs. I was once approached by one of the managers here and was asked what I was looking for, she then told me that they didnt have what i wanted an she continued to just stand there and stare at me like she expected me to leave right then and there..very awkward and rude! These stuck up, greedy (yes greedy, $35 for a no-label, cotton camo T-shirt) women are completely void of the capasity to interface with customers on a couth and professional level. I have always been a very polite, respectful and presentable person even as a young girl, and I was never treated as such when Ive shopped here. more

Excellent Boots & Great Service 6/14/2011

This is the 3rd year that I went to this store to buy boots for the season. I usually buy a pair for winter and a pair for Summer. Before I was in the wrong size. They fixed that and said it would help me feel better. IT DID! They want to know what kind of work I do to give me the right boot for my job. This is a place that really knows their stuff. The first time I came in the owner worked wth me for about an hour and took very good care of me. I learned that she was the owner after I left. That summer I came in and she knew exactly my size and what I needed. I really like this place and love to support local family business. Since then I have brought a lot of guys there. Never heard anything but great stuff. You should check out this place and keep this going. more

Great Funky Selection w/Lousy Service 4/8/2011

I think the title says it all. I recently moved to the area and was warned about the owner's attitude. I went in a few times anyways. Very different and unique selection of clothing you will not find anywhere in the area. But because of the owner's attitudes (mom/daughter), I will make sure to take my business elsewhere. I wished I listened to the locals and saved myself the aggravation... more

Harriman Army-Navy - for guys who don't wear ties 6/18/2006

Harriman Army-Navy is legendary in these parts. People come from all over the tri-state region to purchase brands like Carhartt, Columbia, Woolrich, Levis and Lees, Redwing Boots Wolverine-Bates, etc. But wait, that's not the best part. The store has a women's department which has some of loveliest fashions around. I kid you not. Owner Madelyn Goldberg with the able assistance of her partner and daughter, Jenny, operate this large store which is just filled shelf to shelf and room to room with clothing, accessories, paintball supplies, military apparel and police and uniform clothing and supplies. Enter the store, any day except Monday when they're closed and you'll go right for the men's department and left for the women's salon. I shop in both sections for me and the men in my life. Got a great pea coat here for my son nearly six years ago that he still wears. Maddy has impeccable taste and she takes pride in offering a selection of the latest, in season special occasion garments (including evening wear) which are perfect for proms and formal events like weddings, sweet sixteen, and other dressy events. From cocktail to mother's of the bride/mother's of the groom, you can find beautiful clothes here and are treated to outstanding customer service. Don't see your size? Place a special order and have it altered right here. Prices are reasonable and the seamstresses can make any garment look like it made just for you. It's not uncommon to see the local fire department, police or other uniformed officer in here. Service is professional and helpful. A testament to this store's longevity is the many repeat buyers who've shopped here for years and continue to order several pairs of their favorite work pants year after year. Looking for casual or active clothes? Shop here for the latest in tops, slacks, capris, shoes, dresses, jewelry, handbags and accessories. All under one roof. Can't get to the store. Check out their website at www.ruggedstuff.com (military surplus and work clothing). more
