Hanami Sushi

When we complainted that the chealian was too fishy owner came and was rude and thought we just want our money (we did spend $140 dollars).. He said he has a "no refund policy".. when I asked about teh hidden charges 2.50 few times on my bill he claimed this is for the spicy tuna extra (we ordered spicy tuna).. I can't believe this place survived... I know about Sushi and thi sis not the place.. I agree with previous comment.. To give this place a star is being nice more

To give this place one star is being nice. By far the worst food and the service does not help. When it comes to sushi I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur and like to think Ive tried some of the best. I took my fiance here a couple of months ago because we live nearby and wanted to try the local spot. Boy was that a mistake. To start, the food was mediocre at best and about half way through the meal, the waitress drops the check off on the table and starts cleaning up our plates that still had food on them. It was about 20 minutes until closing time and they obviously wanted to go home early. We were in utter disbelief and literally beside ourselves. Needless to say, we never went back. more

I love this place. I've seen a couple of reviews about bad customer service, but I've never had an experience like that here. I've always been well served, and their service can't be too bad, as this place is always packed. They do really great/unusual rolls like an incredible chilean sea bass roll with carmalized onions and a cucumber/spicy tuna roll that is one of my favorites. Personally, I like their sushi much better than Bui Sushi or Zooma Sushi, which are through the canyon, and it's cheaper than both. Of course, there is Nobu through the canyon, but if you're looking for really good sushi that isn't priced like Nobu then this is the place. more

I wouldn't go back! Ever! It was a ridiculous and frustrating experience. Mediocre food. What happened over a scoop of ice cream was astonishing. I went for dinner with my family, wife, kids. mother in-law, niece etc. Dinner was OK but not fantastic. We never complained, we just enjoyed each others company. The topper was we ordered ice cream, (2 flavors) for dessert. Everyone winced with displeasure about one flavor of ice cream. It was green tea, but it was gritty and nasty. I have had green tea ice cream before and this was not good. I received the check before we finished desert. My check was for about $178.00 plus I was tipping about 20% on top. I asked the waitress to please take back the ice cream and bring us another flavor, no one liked it and it was gritty. The waitress came back and said" Sorry no returns on the ice cream! I could'nt believe my ears! $200 check and they would'nt replace a scoop of ice cream. I asked for the manager and although he offered to refund me the cost of a scoop of ice cream, I wanted my credit card refunded and he said no! Then he said" It's not my problem you don't like the ice cream and took back his offer for the ice cream refund. So I tore up my check, made them rerun my card for the dinner balance and left no tip! I did'nt feel they cared that your there, or if you come back and not very friendly. One scoop was all it took! more

I'd been there twice before and had a decent, though uneventful dinner. One time, however, I rode on my motorcycle to bring the food back home. I asked that my sushi be devided into two styrofoam containers unstead of one big one. Otherwise, I would have to store them on their sides, smushing everything together. What makes things weird is that they HAD the half-sized containers sitting right out there, but the waitress refused to even ASK the sushi chef to put them inside. I even offered to pay for the extra container. Wench. more

For 10 bucks, you get a lot of delicious sushi combinations!! Dinner is a bit different. Prices go up and the menu changes a bit. I usually order the Salmon & Sushi combo at lunch. I went for dinner and ordered the same thing, but instead of the whole traditional Japanese spread - rice, miso soup, pickles, salad, etc. - I got like steamed cauliflower and zuccini. The dish was very western and almost double the price. LUNCH is the best time to go! The wait staff isn't very friendly, but it doesn't matter for $10.
