We live less than 2 miles from Hana, so we were really hoping to find a little gem in our neighborhood. We were not seated at all the both times we tried to go. The first time we entered the restaurant and waited for the host to seat us. The restaurant was not busy - about half full, which means perhaps 4 tables were seated. It took the hostess over 5 minutes to even acknowledge our presence. Then she looked around at the tables for a bit, then she walked to the other side to have a long talk with the sushi chef. We realized she was not eager to seat us, so we left, very annoyed.
The second time we went was about 6 months later. We walked in around 6:15 pm and the restaurant was again, only half full. The same hostess asked us if we had a reservation and we said no. She then talked to the Sushi Chef from across the room (in Japanese, so we didn't understand what she said) and then she looked at us and said, ""sorry, we don't have any tables."" We were shocked and of course, left. She could have said we're booked, but something will open in 30 minutes, or any other number of polite responses. We will never go back.
