Hampden Family Pet Hospital

I believe the doctors do care about the pets, but this practice has become so $$ obsessed that what is actually best for the animal comes second. Every second of the day accounted for and billable; every drop of every medication accounted for and billable - a blood pressure check on my cat, no one seemed to know how to do the test or what the readings meant but I was charged for it; lab test after lab test that showed nothing; an estimate of over $700 to clean my cats teeth! Not a bad place to take your pets if you have deep pockets, I don't, I'm moving on. more

$$$$$$$$ If my dog's abscess were properly diagnosed on the first two visits, she wouldn't have needed an overpriced and unsuccessful surgery. I had to take her to another, more reasonably priced vet to fix a big hole in her skin! They charge an Operating Room fee and $52 for 28 staples, and I could go on! Sad when the staff apologizes for Dr. Ethridge's malpractice! more

Eicko was a 130 pound lean GSD who came to Hampden by recommendation. He had an unknown problem with his front leg which resulted from injury, and the early symtoms of arthitis in his mid spine the result of his enthusiasm for life and jumping.. I must say that all the decisions made over the following 3 1/2 years were made with the greatest concern for my pup and with consideration for our family as well. Deciding against surgery because of his age and type of injury, a combination of some drugs, accupuncture and laser treatments gave the pup a wonderful life as a result of this Hampden Team. However, time marches on. Now in his twilight years, the pup will be visiting Hampden for the last time. It will surely be as loving and caring as all the previous visits. Give these folks a try.
