I have to say I was disapointed. Nothing spectacular. They took me in to a small, hot room that resembled a obygn clinic. It had no pizazz at all. No candles, or neat colorful flo...

I was soo impressed with this salon and spa. My experience was great. I walked out feeling like a $100 bucks. My color and cut was the absolute best that I have every had it. I've always struggled to find some one to do my cut and color the I wanted it and now I finally have!!! 2 thumbs up for sure!! more

Avoid the pedicure 11/2/2007

Have been here a couple of times. The massage was good. The pedicure was a waiste of money, I could have done the same. The receptionist is not very welcoming. Not as good as I expected based on the reviews. But I would return for the massage. Pros: The massage and the location Cons: pedicure and reception desk more

Such a lovely place 10/16/2007

When I walked into Halinas, I was completely blown away. This place looks like no other spa I've ever seen. You would expect the prices to be so much more. The people who work there were so accomodating and friendly. I felt like they were truly happy to be helping me. I've had facials all over the place, and the extractions done at Halinas were the most gentle and thorough. I really did feel like an expert was working on me. I won't ever trust my face to anyone else. They also had a HUGE steam room and dry sauna. The woody smell in the sauna was SO relaxing. I hope you'll enjoy Halina as much as I did. Pros: Pool amenities, skill level, ambience Cons: I can't go everyday! more

Worst customer service 7/7/2007

I was very excited about my first appointment at Halina. After reading the great reviews, I thought I have found my spa, less than a mile away from my house. I booked a facial appointment over the weekend, and asked for a confirmation over how long it would take, since I had a tight schedule that day. I arrived a bit early for my appointment, filled out the paperwork, and waited. My appointment time came and passed. I asked the receptionist whether it was going to be much longer. She said she'd check, and came back later saying that it would be several minutes longer. So I said I couldn't do that, since by the time I was to be get my facial, it was going to be close to 15-20 minutes pass my appointment time, and I have mentioned I have a very tight schedule and another appointment. The lady didn't even apologize, made it sound like it was my fault, and told me I should always expect some wait time. I told her no, I made an appointment, I should not be expected to wait pass my appointment time, and if they know there will always be some wait time, well then they should have adjusted the appointment time slots they offered. I have never encountered this with any other spa/saloon. By the way, I am a member of Massage Heights, and now that is the most professional and customer service oriented place. Halina, on the other hand, perhaps forget about what customer service means. Pros: Nice decor Cons: Bad service more

First visit to Halina 5/8/2007

My first visit to Halina , was a great experiance , I have to say it was one of my best spa visits ever! more

Erin Berlin is the best Stylist ever!! 4/10/2007

Make sure you schedule an appointment with this girl! You leave the salon feeling like a true celebrity because she makes you look like one. My hair has never looked or felt better in my life. Cuts, color, extensions she can do it all! I am a fellow hair stylist myself and met her when we worked together at another salon and now she is the only person I will let anywhere near my hair. She moved away for 3 months and the entire time I just kind of let my hair go, partly due to depression or her disapperance and the fact I just don't trust anyone else. I am currently not working at a salon so that is why I am recommending all who read this to see her! My skill doesn't compare to her at all. Please make an appointment with Erin, trust me you won't be disappointed! more

Horrible service, had to get corrected at another salon! 3/22/2007

I was the victim of a horrible wax job at Halina. I had been referred by a friend who said they did it great, but they butchered me. They didn't prepare my skin and didn't put pressure after the waxing, so it was incredibly painful. \r \r My skin had a lot of raised-up bumps afterwards, and it was very painful, and almost to the point of infection! I went to She Etc. and they helped me out, though it was a long process.\r \r YIKES! more

One of my best spa visits ever! Melissa, Brad, Emi and Heather are awesome! 3/13/2007

I had a great experience at Halina's in Round Rock recently. I haven't been in quite some time, but a couple of girlfriends talked me into it. There were 2 very polite, helpful and cheerful ladies at the front desk. They offered me a glass of wine, and addressed me by my name throughout the day. It isn't very often that receptionists remember your name. I thought that was great. After my facial with Melissa, which was AMAZING, I had some time to sit in the jacuzzi hot tub. By the way, everyone should try the Eminence products. They smell good enough to eat! Then, I had a massage with Brad. I was a bit hesitant at first to see a male massage therapist, but it was well worth it. Brad gave me the best massage I have had in my life! Halina's provided lunch for my girlfriends and I in the bistro area. It was great not to have to worry about running around to different places on a hectic schedule. They made the entire day great! Then, we hopped around between the steam room and the sauna, which are surprisingly big. They were much better than smaller rooms at other spas I have visited. I wish the indoor pool was heated, but I can't have everything I guess. Then we got our nails done. Emi and Heather both did a great job, and the atmosphere in their nail room is great! I have to say it was one of my best spa visits ever! Pros: amenities, service, products more

Great massage/ worst nail technician 2/15/2007

I have gone to this location several times for a massage with great results!!....however I recently scheduled an appt to have a full set of acrylic nails, and to have the ones I have on removed.....One would presume they knew how much time to allow for this, or make the time once the customer is in the chair.....its a service industry. The nail tech "Emi" greeted me with a cold hello.......After making me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable from the beginning...she proceeded to tell me over and over and over in a very strong tone that she didnt have time to do what I requested, after she made a few huffs and puffs as if she were put out, 2 other employees came over to apologize for the time issue, (despite thats what I had made an appt for) I said,ok...I will need 2 nails redone, the others do whatever it is you can ,once again, Emi huffs and puffs, acts put out and very agitated, proceeds to make it very known in front of me that shes more concerned about her future appts, rather than focusing on the one in front of her.....at that point, she lost my business, and she should not be in a service/people oriented business she"s AWFUL !!!! Pros: Massage Therapy is excellent Cons: Much of the Staff needs to be replaced, including Emi, and the Manager more

good brows 6/14/2006

if you can avoid the girls in the front desk, there is one girl there who does the most amazing eye brows, her name is Mino!!! i love her, knowone else is as good! more

Wonderful massages.....AHHHH! 4/18/2006

I'm a pretty active 33 year old guy and like to get massages at least once to twice a month. I've tried most to all of the spa's in Austin and will gladly make the drive to Halina's. I'm thinking of even moving north! I found any of the therapists to be highly competent and just as nice. You'll do yourself a favor by going! Pros: Relaxing, Therapeutic, Friendly more

Three is the Charm 1/13/2006

I used to frequent the Central location of Halina's spa and was very sad when we moved to the West side of Austin. Upon trying a couple of other spas I retutrned to Halina's. Oksana is a World Class aesthetician and Beatriz gives wonderful manicures and pedicures. I was delighted when I found out that Halina's moved near my home to the Steiner Ranch Mansion complex. It is obvious that no matter what location of Halina's I go to, the service across all speciallizations is uniform and exemplary. Pros: locations, specialists, packages Cons: busy more

Disappointing 12/31/2005

I had a facial at Halina's and I have to say that I was very disappointed. I had to ask the facialist 3 times to turn down the blinding lights. She was loud, not friendly, and didn't ask me a single question about why I was there or what my skin was like. She was even offended that I asked her to turn down the lights! The front desk staff is also below par. They were not friendly and made me seem like a burden for being there. There are other places in town that are much better. I will be driving further to get there, but it'll be worth it. more

You Have to Go 12/31/2005

I visited the Steiner Ranch location and absolutely loved my experience. I had an awesome 90 min. massage in an awesome stone room with perfect lighting and a recessed sound system. (Massage: ask for Kim Gann!) Then, a facial in a cozy room on a plush heated bed (ask for Jan Mitte). Lena H. did a fantastic job with my luxury pedicure and manicure (leather seating with back massage). A+ Overall more

User review by jaiz 12/9/2005

Despite the relaxing spa ambiance, and the impressive quality of my spa treatments, I would not recommend this spa on the basis of very poor customer service. The staff has lost sight of the spa ideal, spoiling a blissful day of indulgence with poor customer relations. When I visit a spa I expect to feel welcomed and pampered, and this spa fell far short of meeting this fair expectation. In short, the management and desk staff was rigid, unaccommodating, and on my visit outright rude. Cons: Operations, Organization, Management more

great place to pamper yourself 11/25/2005

If you need a place to go to "escape" from the stress of everyday life, this is definately the place to go. The staff is world class and you can get any spa treatment you could want. They are rather pricey, but worth every penny. It is located next to a gated apartment complex and they have limited parking so it can be a struggle to get a spot. Leave extra time to allow for this. more

Mini Vacation 11/1/2005

My first visit was because of a gift certificate I received from an employer. The service and atmosphere was so relaxing, inviting and pleasant, that one visit became a regular part of my life. From manicures/pedicures to facials and skin care, Halina's staff always takes time to make me feel special. Their staff is knowledgeable and seem to take a genuine interest in my needs. When you need to feel pampered, want to relax or just treat yourself because you KNOW you deserve it, Halina's is the best place to do it. Pros: I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! Cons: Parking more

Kaliedoscopic Talent 10/9/2005

As a child I had a kaliedoscope that I loved. Everytime I turned it, different facets appeared to create a unique sparkly vision. Kevin's talent, like that beloved toy, is kaliedoscopic. The first time I sat in Kevin's chair, he turned my "cherry pink" hair into a blonde confection. My former hair stylist was into pinks, I think. Since that time he never ceases to amaze me. His talent is so multi-faceted that he bests himself each time I enter the salon. If you are looking for amazing talent in the area of color and styling try Kevin at Halina's. My trips are like Christmas each month, for I turn that kaliedoscope one more time for yet another breathtaking experience. Pros: flexible, talented, pampered guest Cons: little pricey, limited parking more

The Best 8/30/2005

I have been to quite a few spas but none as luxurious and relaxing as this one. I have gone to one of L.A.'s only 5 star spa and they don't even come close to Halina's. Keep up the good work. Pros: Relaxing, Ambiance, Relaxing Cons: Nothing more

Exactly what a spa is supposed to be! 8/24/2005

I've been to Halina's several time over the course of this year. I took my bridesmaids there the day before my wedding, my husband there a few months later, and my mother there yesterday. Every time, we've been treated with the same warmth and respect that full-service salons SHOULD offer, but usually do not. Halina's has highly skilled staff and a beautiful, relaxing ambience. more
