Jazelle is nothing short from a miracle! I have very curly hair and have never had a cut/color I was thrilled with. At one time I would travel to a elite salon in New York (expensive) to get my hair done...When found Jazelle my hair woes stopped. Jazelle is a master at color, design, and professionalism. She will listen, suggest , and execute the style you want no matter how much time or effort it will take. She prides herself on her clients opinion and I have yet to refer anyone that differs in thought. You will not be disappointed. Call her. more

Look no further 1/15/2010

Jezelle is awesome. I've gone to her three times now to get my hair cut and highlighted and she does an amazing job. This is no small feat. I'd been looking four years for someone I can trust with my hair. Here's what sets her apart: She listens, she has vision, when you describe what you want, she ""gets it"" and gets you there. I wish I had a ""before"" and ""after"" pic to show. Anyway, I walked out yesterday with a really trendy layered hairstyle and golden highlights. My colleagues last time were impressed. One of them now goes to Jezelle. I am the rare review writer but Jezelle is special enough that I thought others should benefit. Jezelle is really good! 11/1/2009

She cut my hair exactly the way I asked her to. She's also excellent at styling your hair as she blows it dry. I enjoyed talking with Jezelle and found the salon to be very comfortable, clean and relaxed. She does not pressure you to buy any products. Her prices are reasonable and she emails coupons besides. Parking is easy--right near the front door. I've only been there once, but I plan to get my next haircut there. Pros: Jezelle is a good listener. more

Great Cut and Color! 10/27/2009

Jezelle is great! I came to her hoping she could do something to give my hair a lift. It was flat, and I had been to other stylists who couldn't give it the shape it needed. The final touch was bangs, which no one else had really given me, and it took years off of my face! Jezelle works like an artist, and the end result is pleasing to the eye and beautiful. Jezelle is also an expert at color and highlighting. I think she does excellent work and I would recommend her to anyone. more

Jezelle is terrific 10/12/2009

Jezelle cut my hair and my 3yr old daughter's hair last month. She did a fabulous job on both of us. She was so wonderful and gentle with my daughter. I came in with a picture of a gorgeous model. Jezelle did a great job replicating the haircut I wanted. Her prices are terrific. She emails out coupons regularly. If you've been looking for a great stylist, you must give her a try! Wonderful highlights! 9/25/2009

I hadn't gotten professional highlights since 7th grade (I'm 35) and I decided to try one more time after several disastrous attempts at home highlighting. So two days before a huge conference, where I was a keynote speaker, I decided to visit Jezelle. My husband thought I was crazy and was ready to buy corrective all over hair dye for that evening. But I absolutely loved the job that Jezelle did! The highlights were subtle and beautiful. I will definitely be going back to Jezelle for touch ups and haircuts. She is awesome--listened to me and was extremely personable. Thanks, Jezelle!! Pros: Listens to exactly what you want more

Amazing! 9/15/2009

New to Austin and desperatly needing a cut and color, I resorted to trying my luck at finding a salon online. I came across Jezelle here on City Search and was just so impressed with all of her great reviews I thought I would give her a try. My hair is thick with unruly waves.In the past I have been given many cuts that just do not work with my hair type. I went to Jezelle and knew exactly what I wanted to get and was pretty vocal about it. Sometimes the stylist you end up with does not really listen and tends to go off on what they think will work best.... However, I was really impressed that Jezelle really listened and got the concept right away. She said you are in charge you just tell me what to do! I did have a few questions about the highlights and she answered all of them confidently and made me feel at ease. I just got back from a trip to NY for a bridal shower and no kidding got complimented on my hair almost a dozen times...I have never had a hair cut that got that kind of reaction!!! I am super pleased and will be going back to see Jezelle. more

Best Beauty Parlor in Austin 9/10/2009

I went to Dawn Hair Parlor last week and got my hair cut for the first time and it is great. I have not been able to find someone to cut my hair the way I like since I lost my sister and my hair dresser 10 years ago. I cannot tell you how great it is to find someone who will be honest and tell you if a certain hair style will not work for you, but Jazelle will. When she told me what she thought I should do, I almost cried because that is exactly what I have been looking for the last 10 years. Thank You Jazelle! Pros: Jazelle is wonderful more

How does she do it....? 9/8/2009

I have been to more salons than I care to even think about. I went to Jezelle when she lived in Fort Worth. Now that she lives in Austin, I try to make sure if I am any where near that town, she is top priority for a visit. No one does my hair like her. No one listens to what I want and talks to me honestly. This last trip she nailed my new style perfectly. She talked and I just kept nodding my head yes....! I sat in her chair, once again with full confidence and told her to work her magic - boy did she ever! I like more of an edgy style and she listened and gave me my PERFECT hair! Girl, you rock. Hair Happy 8/31/2009

I recently moved to Austin and I knew it was going to be a challenge to find a hairdresser who could make me as ""happy hair"" as the hairdresser who made me happy for years. I have fine, straight, and color treated hair. I decided to try a couple of the ""fancy salons"" in downtown Austin. They should all have great hairdressers, right? Wrong! My hair was in a real problem state, both cut and color, before I discovered Jezelle. I can not say enough wonderful things about this talented hairdresser. She is a miracle worker! I walked out thrilled after my first visit! more

Amazing make-over 8/15/2009

Highly Recommended!! 8/15/2009

I am fairly new to Austin and hadn't found a good stylist yet that was also affordable. I found Jezelle through this Citysearch and decided to give her a try since I read so many great reviews. I admit, I thought no way could someone have so many good reviews, she must be writing these herself. LOL. But, after I got a awesome cut and fantastic color, I can see that every word written on here was true! She is really knowledgeable with color. She worked her magic and got my multi-toned color back to the way it should be. She spent as much time as needed and didn't rush me out the door. She is very pleasant to ""hang out"" with so you don't even feel like you are getting a service, more like spending the afternoon with a friend. I highly recommend Jezelle. Living Northwest, it is a bit of a drive for me, but I would make it a hundred times over again to get my color and cut perfect. I am so glad I came on here and found Jezelle! Jezelle is great. I've been looking for a good hairstylist since I moved to Austin, 2 years ago. A friend of mine tried her out and called me the next day to tell me about this awesome hair cut she got and told me all about Jezelle. When I saw her hair I knew that this hairstylist was someone I had to meet. I just knew she could give me what I was looking for...and did. I found my hairstylist. YEA! more

Shes the best 3/3/2009

I have never been completky satisfied with any stylist. It's hard to find someone who listens to exactly what I want but still give professional advice and tips that will benefit me. I've been going to Jazelle for over a year now and shes the best. Not only is she a very talented lady, but she is also a wonderful person to have an afternoon chat with. I always enjoy my time at Color at Dawn as well as my style. Hands down, I would totally recomend her services more

Haircoloring Expertise! 2/22/2009

Last week, I stopped by Colors by Dawn to check it out, and ended up meeting with Jezelle. I spoke with her about my hair coloring needs, and what my ideas were to create a better color for my hair. I have colored my hair to cover the gray for several years, but wanted it to have some highlights and try and remedy all the different layers of color I currently had in my hair from all the different over the counter colors I have used. After speaking with Jezelle, I scheduled an appointment (which she was very accomodating) and went in to have my hair colored. She studied my hair, and we discussed several options from picture samples. Once we decided, she was off and running, and really knows what she is doing.\r The result: I am THRILLED with the color of my hair, and have had numerous compliments. The highest compliment I received was from a friend who is a hair stylist, and he said that she really knows what she is doing, because she picked up some of the color in my eyes with the highlight color she used, and it makes my eyes seem more sparkly. \r I would highly (see all the stars) recommend Jezelle to color your hair. I will treat myself again to her expertise! Great job! Great results! Thanks! more
