4 months ago I went to master cuts in the mall and asked for a one length bob that hung at my shoulders, When I got done, the lady had cut 3 distinct sets of layers that were horrible, the shortest one being 3 inches from my scalp. The worst part was, the lady had the picture in front of her the entire time. The good news! I waited for the hair to grow... and decided to visit Hair Flair based on internet reviews. I called on a Saturday morning and got an appointment the same day! This salon is nestled in a small shopping center, and looks like your average place, but it is beyond average. I walked in and was greeted by everyone and seated immediately (20 min before my appointment). Sara approached me and I explained my situation. She gave me positive reinforcement and explained how she could shape my haircut to make it more flattering for my face shape. Sara continuously told me to think about the positive and forget about my negative experience. Please don't be discouraged by the "look" of this place. The hairdressers are wonderful and you'll walk out unbelievably happy. Sara washed, cut and style my hair for a great price ($40) and gave me a haircut that I had been wanting. I would recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for attentive, friendly and professional service. more

A friend of mine drives from her new house in MD to see this woman. Thahn is very skilled with thin, lifeless hair. I went to her with dyed blonde hair and wanted something new...we have a fabulous strawberry blonde that is just enough of a difference while looking extremely natural. And the cut was great. The downside is that they do not have great evening hours or Sunday....but otherwise I like them. more

Hair Flair is small, out-of-the-way salon is Springfield that is staffed by some of the most wonderful stylists around. They know hair - how to make it not only beautiful, but also healthy. The prices are about half of what you'd spend in Washington for a greet look. If you have fine hair, ask for Thanh, who can work magic with fine, straight hair. They carry a complete line of hair care prodcuts as well as Dermalogica skin care. In addition, they offer waxing, massage, make-up and other services. It's definitely worth the drive from DC. more

I have problem hair. It is thin and tends toward frizz. I have dyed in blonde for the last few years in an effort to add a little body. Well, I really wanted to be a red head for the winter and got a recommendation for a place in Springfield. A good friend of mine goes there and I love her color. I went to Thanh for cut, color and she added in some fantastic tips for getting the best out of my lackluster hair. I am thrilled with both the color and the cut and have a new place to go for hair! more
