Haig's Watch Repair Service

This guy is fantastic! His shop was taken during a redevelopment so he works out of his home (call for address). Basically a watch repair man, he also repairs jewelry, and all with a story and good humor. I took in 4 watches. 3 needed only a battery, but he also cleaned them and burnished scratches from one -- all for the price of the battery. The other watch needed more work, but that was also done so well, and at a low cost. He soldered broken chains. Each time I was there other customers were in to pick up work, and raving about his skills. One customer has beautiful antique watches he will take nowhere else. Friends hang out, people on the street are friendly, and the whole setting is charming. Be prepared to be greated like a long-lost friend. What a find! Haigo is a very friendly man who knows his stuff. My husband and I both needed watch repair so we looked up someone here on Citysearch and found Haig's watch repair. He is no longer in his building but works out of his house. He is very professional and doesn't charge you "department store" prices. Oh, and if you do go to his house, you don't need to take off your shoes..unless you're one of his grandchildren! more

Several years ago, I purchased a fine watch in Switzerland. Like many fine watches, the battery needs replacing ever few years. I went to Haig's about 3 years ago and had great service. He loves his work and treats you like a star. Now I need another battery, I called and he's oh so happy to serve me. I just like the guy and there just arent many places left like this where you get personal service. Between this guy and Willies shoes, also in Hollywood, its going to be sad when they're gone and we all become a number in the corporate chain stores. thing. Mine is a Tissot Dive Watch and has some intricate settings that need to be done after the battery replacement. Its analog, but still needed to be "programmed" in a way. This guy is a pro and BAM!
