I recently had a top of the line Bock oil fired water heater fail. It had been serviced its whole life by McClure under a premier plan. I found out they had never once checked the anode rods, which had been totally corroded away. They would not work with me on the replacement and even denied my request to have to have the anode rods checked on the replacement. What they did do was drop me as a service customer! more

They are good as far as home delivery, I never ran out of fuel oil but I've had nothing but problems with this company as far as maintenance. It seems that no matter what the problem is, it is not covered by their maintenance agreement. The price sky rockets every year, I'm now paying $400/yr and all I get for that is a clean nozzle about once a year. I say about because sometimes they went 16 months before doing their annual maintenance. They would always want to do it in the spring, and when I wanted it done just before winter, I was always denied. more

We used HB McClure for a few years. At first, they just started coming filling our tank without our approval. I got that straightened out and everything seemed smooth sailing. That was until I got a bill in the mail for a tank rental. The basics of it were you owe us this amount of money, because you did not fill up the required amount for our rental. The problem: WE OWN THE TANK! I called them up, assuming it was a misunderstanding that could be quickly dismissed. After talking to 3 different people, I was told I needed to prove that I indeed owned the tank (I've owned it for over 10 years). I ask the manager "Ken" if he could kindly show me the rental agreement I signed as well as proof that they owned the tank. He could not show our rental agreement (as we never signed one since we owned the tank) and had no way in proving it was their tank. While, speaking with hi, he got so furious he hung up on me. This was very unprofessional, all I did was ask if he could prove they owned the tank, yet he refused to answer the question. Now, I have to go through all my records to prove I own the tank or they will continue to charge me interest and they will come take the tank. The company can't even keep track of what they own. I will be the first to tell you that I will never use their service again. Honestly, this should have been an easy fix, once they realized they made a mistake, but they couldn't admit it. Instead all they did was threaten to take my property and continue to charge me interest for every day I did not pay. Save yourself grief and go with a good propane company. Not one that can't even keep track of the equipment , confess to their mistakes and definitely not one that will threaten you for their mistakes. And they Customer Service is not important to them. more

With a hard economical winter coming up on all of us, heating supplies are going to be expensive. We've been getting our heating oil delivered from HB McClure for 4 years now. There service is fantastic. We've never run out of oil!! We are on the budget plan and pay a set amount each month based on our past year's usage. We also lock in at a lower rate. We purchase their silver maintenance plan and each year a service person comes out to our house and clean the furnace and makes sure we're in proper working order for when its time to turn on the heat. This makes me feel at ease, because when it's time to turn on the heat, I don't have any worries about whether our furnace is going to work or not. I've only ever spoken with the ladies in the accounting department, but they are extremely friendly and so nice to talk to. I wouldn't change where I get my oil from. HB McClure offers great prices and excellent service. more
