Gumbeaux's Cajun Restaurant 4/14/2006

This is definitely one of Douglasville's best restaurants, perhaps one of the better in the Atlanta area. The cajun entrees are authentic and very good. The portions are large so be prepared to take some home! One of my favorite dips is the remoulade sauce. Spicy but just right! Get there before 5:00 p.m. or be prepared to wait. This place is very popular on Friday and Saturday nights! more

One of the Best Places to eat outside Atlanta! 4/14/2006

This place is GREAT! If you like seafood and don't want to go to Atlanta or a chain where you will get previously frozen crab legs from the west coast and canned clam chowder, then go to Gumbeax! The food is always consistent for us every time we go (20+). The baked oysters taste like you are sitting on the beach and their buffalo shrimp are spicy and BETTER than we have had at the beach and we lived in Virginia Beach for 4 years! When we go, we go like old people. To avoid a wait get there before 5:00 pm. Anytime later and you will wait an hour. It's worth it though. They mix up some good drinks and sometimes there is no wait to sit at the bar upstairs. P.S. Their chocolate bread pudding-OMG! more

MMMmmm Cajun Goodness! 1/24/2006

This has got to be honestly one of my all-time favorite spots. Located in "downtown Douglasville" on Main St., they manage to keep a wait pretty much every night, and often during lunch as well. With a down-to-earth, almost hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, they offer up mouth-watering cuisine ranging from jumbalaya and crawfish etoufee to steaks and fried seafood. But this is not for the faint of heart-- even the hushpuppies and corn have a bit of kick to them! They also serve up the world famous New Orleans brand Community Coffee and tea and have some great bar speacials as well. I highly recomend it to anyone who needs some spice in their palate. more

Best Roast Beef Po' Boy!! 10/24/2005

The roast beef po' boy and hush puppies will blow you away!!! Make sure you have a full glass of ice tea ready though. The hush puppies can be a little spicy! My husband really enjoys the catfish po' boy and hush puppies. We have only had one less then wonderful experience at gumbeaux, and that time the food was simply too hot to eat. more
