THE WORST 4/10/2014

I have to agree with the reviewer who called them the worst, most unprofessional staff ever.I had a 97 Wrangler with 62000 miles on it that I purchased 1 year old,so I am familiar with every aspect of the vehicle. After speaking with them on the phone about trading it in on a sports car I drove 40 miles in a snowstorm for their used car mgr. to offer me 800.00 dollars on trade.Internet pricing on it was 4500.00 wholesale and 8500 .00 retail. At the time you couldn't find a Wrangler for under 3900.00 in ANY condition. After driving it around in a circle in their service area he claimed the tires were old,the rims were rusty and the front steering was sloppy.I pointed out to him that I had just driven all the way in from Frankfort with NO problem. That was about 15 months ago.I cleaned the MINOR rust 0ff the rims and am still driving it with NO PROBLEMS.Had I not been so familiar with the vehicle I may have fallen for their BS.I have to say the salesman was polite but the used car mgr. was a moron. I wouldn't deal with those clowns again. more

Fast service 5/21/2012

I had my car towed to this dealer to have my keys replaced which had been lost and called about 3 hours prior to let them know I would be coming in to have keys made once I found a towing service to tow the car. Once my car was delivered to their location they worked on it right away making my keys and had me back on the road in less than 30 minutes. Thanks for taking care of me so fast. more

Service 11/5/2010

Sean McCarthy told me he could take the car in an hour. He did so & had it finished in under an hour. He did the 100 pt. inspection & the oil change & explained it to me, satisfactorily. more

Grossinger Toyota is Terrible 11/3/2010

Overall this is one of the worst dealerships my family has ever dealt with. They have no respect for their customers are just looking for a quick sale. My sister bought a 2006 Toyota Solara and extended warranty from them and not two weeks later, the windshield wipers failed and a belt started squeaking. She brought it in to get fixed and was informed it wasn't covered (even though it was a problem before she bought the car.) They would rather have the $300 now then have a customer that is sure to come back for oil changes, tire rotations, major service and even another vehicle. But now, they have ruined all chances of anyone in my family (or anyone we talk to) becoming a customer of Grossinger Toyota. They need to seriously re-evaluate their customer service. My dad tried to talk to them and even wrote them a very tasteful letter and was never responded to. These guys have no business being in the car business and avoid them at all costs. You will be disappointed. more

THE WORST!!!!!!! 10/14/2010

Avoid at all cost. Perfect example of dishonesty . more

Completed service minus one request 9/14/2010

They completed my oil change quickly on a busy day. I asked them to check out a loose panel underneath my car. They said they would and never did. This is the second time that this has happened to me. They might be fast but careless at best. Also, why do they give out appointments if they can't honor them? more

AVOID AT ALL COST - BAIT AND SWITCH 7/30/2009

AVOID GROSSINGER CITY TOYOTA AT ALL COST Statement Regarding Grossinger City Toyota July 30, 2009 Male salesman told me they had Prius 2 in Blue, Silver and White. I agreed to purchase Blue. Female finance person called me back and told me they only had black. Accidentally called them back while going down a dealer list. Person who identified himself as Phil said they had Blue, Silver, White and Black. I agreed to purchase blue, provided info for financing. Deal on. Called back, asked for Phil, told that nobody named Phil works there. Called back, told that Phil was on a test drive. Called back, told that Phil was with a customer. Called back, told there is no Phil. Talked to impatient, condescending person who identified himeself as Ray the sales manager. Told me he was there when they called me to tell me black only. Told me they do have White, Silver, Black. Asked to talk to adult in charge. Talked to Brian, who claimed to be general manager. Uninterested in the multiple failures I described. Brian says no employee named Phil. Called back. Asked for Phil. Put on hold. Told that Phil was paged but he did not respond. Called back, talked to Ray. Ray bulls*itted me some more. Finally gave up. Throughout this process, I was encouraged to come in immediately to do a deal. Searched for online reviews and found that my experience is not unusual. I now realize that their intent was to bait me to visit the dealership and switch me to another vehicle. more

Lies and deceit 10/19/2008

Good: Nothing,. Bad: They will have you waiting for hours, will have you believing that you got a deal, but will change everything they told you before, and they will not even bother apologizing if they lie to you!. Improvements: Close down. more

Lies and deceit 10/19/2008

Dishonesty, disrespect, and unprofessionalism would describe them best! more

DON'T BOTHER 10/19/2008

Deception at its finest at Grossinger 11/12/2007

I found a vehicle that I liked (Range Rover) and called and spoke to their "internet manager" Michael Gregano. We had worked out a deal for the vehicle and he assured me it would be ready for next day delivery. I advised him that I was coming via train Buffalo NY and would need to pickup the vehicle the day I arrived. He assured me again that the vehcile was on the lot and ready to go. I told him that I should be in Chicago no later than 10:00. Well, 9:30AM the next day as I am on the train, I get a voicemail from Mike Gregano that the vehicle was in service at Howard Orloff Land Rover because of a heater sensor. I called him back and he would not answer my call. I spoke to a manager there and I was told that the vehicle has been at Howard Orloff for the past few days and they were waiting for a part. I asked if it should be ready today, I was told 'maybe'. Well I get into Chicago and take a cab to Grossinger, and when I get there I asked to speak to Mike Gregano. I am told he is with a customer and that I am next to see him. I am offered by another salesperson to see another vehicle as I was waiting. I looked at the vehicle and told him that I wasn't interested, he told me that its ok, points to a couple in the showroom and tells me that they are buying that vehicle...OK I was just used to get someone to sign on the dotted line. Well, after an hour of waiting I asked a salesperson how much longer intil I can speak to Mike Gregano. I am told he has 6 people ahead of me! What! I came here from Buffalo and this guy is blowing me off. When I saw Mike Gregano, he picked up his cell phone and pretended he was talking on it as he walked by me without even acknowledging me. At that point I was pointed in the direction of a manager by the name of Mike Spence. He told me that Mike Gregano was being immature and not wanting to speak to me because of the situation. He told me that the car would be back Monday or Tuesday and said he empathised with me for coming out 500 miles to buy this car but he could do nothing. He told me I could go look at the vehicle at Howard Oroloff but their service department was closed at 2PM. He said he knew this because he used to work there. After three hours of being there I decided to go and see this car and decide whether I was going to fork over $800 and three days for an extended stay in Chicago. Well, after another cab ride (I was told by Gregano that Grossinger doesn't do courtesy transport) I was shocked to see that Howard Orloff Land Rover's Service Department was still open at 4:30pm! I was told by their service writer that they're always open til 6:30. He then tried to find this vehicle for me and told me after alot of searching that Grossinger Toyota had the vehicle picked up the prior Thursday. I was livid, not only was I lied and deceived to by their "internet manager" Micheal Gregano, but also by their sales manager Mike Spence. I called Grossinger immediately and was hung up on several times before speaking to a manager at Grossinger's Autoplex. I was told that he would "speak" to these guys and give me a call back Monday morning. Never heard a thing. I ended up leaving Chicago the next day, out almost $600 when all was done and said for. I would not have been surprised at something like this if it were not coming from a new Toyota store. more

UNRELIABLE!!! 9/12/2007

I recently bought a white scion there. The car was first given to me dirty, both inside and out. It had been used and had 5 miles on it. Not a big deal, except I had already signed the paperwork that said it had 3 miles on it. I felt deceived! I have no trust in these people whatsoever. Oh, be careful w/ what you're paying for. Most of the people there tend to over charge you. Even if you're there for an oil change. more

Not reliable at all....Cunning & deceptive 6/8/2007

These guys say one thing on the phone or in the news paper ad, but talk totally different language when you step in the show room. They offered $3000 discount in the paper ad, when i called them up they conmfirmed the same. But whn i actually went to the show room they created the records of selling them with yesterday's date (on a piece of paper) i insisted them to show in the system, but they couldn't ...i felt like betrayed and deceived. Just a waste of time talking to these guys more

Bunch of Cons 5/30/2007

The second time, I was conned by Grossinger twice first when I was mislead into buying and believing that the car was a Suzuki Grand Vitara 4x4 and second when the monogram was taken off my car (after it was officially mine) this move was clearly unauthorized and a violation against my property. Shame on them !! more

Fraudulant 5/30/2007

I had to cancel my deal because the sales manager refused to honor the price I was given a night before. He totally ignored our request that we signed a paper for pricing. Further he told me that I was the one who signed the paper not them. So next time you go there and if there is a paper involved to settle the price make sure the manager signed it as well. more

Cheap 5/27/2006

You can get a fuel efficient car here that is fully loaded with all of the extras for under twenty grand. These cars are called the Scions. They come with great sound systems and everything is power. If you are on a budget then this is the only car that really makes sense. Its look isn't for everyone, but they drive great. more

Great Cars, Great Service 4/30/2006

We bought a Camry from here a couple of years ago. We have been pretty pleased with out purchase from here. The salesman was very nice and really helped us find a good deal. We got a slighlty used model, but he was able to get us a full warranty on it like a brand new one. We got a great price and the service here is great too. If there is ever a problem, all we have to do is take it in and they have it taken care of as soon as possible. I would definitely consider buying from here again, as long as things go like this for a little bit longer! more
