We love Groomingdales 5/25/2011

My dogs and I love our Groomingdales visits. I am always treated professionally and my boys(dogs) come and go with wagging tails. The staff is more than happy to answer any questions I have and they treat my dogs as if they were their own. It can be hard leaving your animals in someone else's care, but my 2 cavaliers waltz right in, tails wagging, as if they owned the place. The only downside is they book up quick, which I suppose says a little something about how good they are. I recommend them highly!! more

Excellent salon 11/23/2010

I have been taking my dogs to Groomingdales for years. I used to take my lab girl before she passed away, and now I take my Cavalier. I have had nothing but positive experiences thus far. My dogs never come home stressed out, unclean or with half-baked bathing/grooming. My dogs are always bathed properly, smell good, have their nails trimmed, teeth brushed and always were very happy in the end. Would definitely recommend, and will continue to go to Groomingdales more

Never going there again. 11/22/2010

I had been going to Groomingdales for quite some time & trusted them. One day when we went to pick up our two dogs we were told that the teacup had a seizure & was at the animal hospital a couple blocks away. When we got there she had one eye bulging out - the vet said it was much better than when she came in hours earlier. They ran tests & charged over $700. We immediately took her over to the emergency clinic & left her for a few hours for them to stablize her & run tests to find out why she had a seizure. Hours later when we picked her up the vet told us there was absolutely no sign of a seizure & the damage to her eye had been blunt force trauma - in other words, they dropped her. They didn't even have the courtesy to tell the truth. They said that she was standing on the table & suddenly started a seizure so they put her on the floor so she didn't get hurt. She only weighs 3 lbs. The fall could have killed her & they didn't even have the ethics to be truthful. They wouldn't pay the $700+ vet bill, they never apologized, they continued to say that the eye bulging completely out of the socket was from a seizure, even though her eye was filled with blood & the ER vet said there was no sign of a seizure. If they will lie about this, what else will they lie about? more

It started out nice 9/25/2010

Well I started taking my dog there awhile ago and they seemed very nice at first and were very attentive to my dog and he was happy to go there. Soon after they started to have lots of turn over in the people they were employing there. One lady couldn't groom a dog to save her life and looked like a crackhead. But after that time I just made sure she never got to cut my dogs hair again. After that my dog started to really not like going there at all. He would really start to throw a fit when I would bring him to the place. But i kinda figured it would be ok as long as they got him done in good order. They take about 3 to 4 hours to groom one dog which is kinda ridiculous, not to mention they started cutting my dogs nail instead of grinding them down. They also couldn't cut the nails right and my dog was bleeding 2 times in a row from multiple nails. Then they left a WHOLE cotton ball stuffed way down in to his ear. I found it a couple days later when my dog was really beginning to itch his ear. I could understand a little cotton in the ear but the whole ball?? Really? I would not recommend this place at all anymore. They used to be good but they rid of all the good groomers. more

Satisfied Customer 10/5/2009

I called all over town to find a place that would be willing to groom my Persian cat. The poor thing had hair mats along the bottom of her tummy that could not be combed out. Many groomers were not up to the task of shaving her stomach because of a cat's delicate skin. Groomingdales offers this service and my cat always comes out professionally groomed with no cuts. Although the price seems expensive, if I had to shave a cat, I would probably charge a high price too. Pros: Best place to town to groom a cat Cons: High priced more

HORRIBLE Service and Overpriced! BE WARNED!!! 3/13/2008

I am embarrassed to admit that I used this place. I took my cat their three times. The first time I thought it might be ok even though they locked up my cat in a small holding room with big dogs and other obnoxious animals crying and scarred to death. I left my cat there and returned later and pay for services. The gal working was short with me and unpleasant. I didn?t want to pass judgment so three months later I returned again to find that they were out of advantage even though that wasn?t mentioned during the reservation. So, as if I didn?t learn my lesson enough, on the third and final visit upon pickup of my cat I noticed the smear of advantage down the middle of his back and not on his neck. His nails were not trimmed and the comb-out they provided did not even remove the few fleas my cat had and he was skiddish and stressed. I called to complain and spoke with the owner a middle-aged lady who was not in a good mood. She said that they did what say said they would do for the inflated price of $45. I noted my observations and she said that I was not a Vet and I didn?t know what I was talking about. After arguing for ten minutes I said that I would be in for a refund and would not be using their services any longer. She said NO. She refused to give a refund unless the complaint was accompanied with a letter from a Vet stating that the advantage was applied improperly and proof of a stressed out kitty. I told her that this was absurd and she hung up on me!!! Pros: NONE!! BE WARNED LIARS & CHEATS Cons: RUDE! CRASS! UNPROFESSIONAL! FRAUDS!! more

An excellent service 9/30/2007

My husband and I enjoy taking our dog Dutch to Groomingdales. The staff is attentive and professional. The facility is clean and the costs of services are very reasonable. Miranda listens to what we need and that shows in her work. Even though Dutch is a big breed dog, it is great to have him groomed and looking his best. We were referred to Groomingdales by another client, and are so glad we decided take our dog in for his grooming needs. Pros: easy location, great service Cons: none! more
