Gresham Towing

Do not use this company!! I just used them yesterday, 11/13/13. They went and retrieved my vehicle and the owner/operator named Carlos didn't even call me to let me know he had the car in his lot. He then quoted me a price of $150.00 and 2 hrs later when I called back to confrim I was on my way, he hiked the price up to 255.00 claiming 2 days of storage and they had just got the car the night before!! After a heated contest, he told me 200.00 is as low as he will go and literally said 'COME GET YOUR CAR OUT OF MY YARD'.... his secretary/wife screened my calls and at one point Carlos himself told me 'I'm wasting my time with you'. To top it all off, I had to get another towing company just to move my car from his lot!! more

I rolled my truck last week and it went deep into a ditch. GPD ordered a tow truck and in about 10 minutes Gresham Towing was there ready to get the job done. The driver was fast, nice and clean. Pulled my rig out quick and even cleaned up the mess from my truck. went in to get it 3 days later to find that the driver taped clear plastic over my broken windows to keep it dry! And when it came time for the bill, they only charged me 190.00 bucks! For three days in storage and the tow & recovering the truck. These guys are AWESOME and if I ever have another problem, they are the FIRST people I will call!!!! ROCK ON GUYS! .........oh and these other people who are writing bad reviews......please keep in mind that Gresham Towing does a lot of work for GPD. Which means lots of people with DUI problems are crying cause hey got caught and just want to cry about paying or their mistakes. more

I'm gonna make this review short and to the point. Nail in my tire, called them, they were there super quick. I didn't have one of those little cute tires to use as a spare so the driver used a plug after pulling the nail then fix a flat. Gave me air from his truck and I was on the road in maybe 20 minutes. This guy rocks. oh and I'm still using the tire.......but I might want a new one now that I think about it......but they still rock!! more

I had a great experience with Gresham Towing so I was surprised to read the negative reviews. I found out they are under new ownership so that may explain a lot. I give then a thumbs up. more

There was a nice older man who helped us tow our heavy van in the middle of the night. He only charged 55$- which is like half what everyone else charges. Very nice guy! Thanks! more

I have never taken the time to write a review but since its all I can do about what they did to me here I am. Its 736 pm 2/19/11 I just got home from my hit and run by these people. I was in N Portland headed East when I noticed this tow truck ready to hit me. He was trying to change into my lane. I felt him connect with my car and slammed on my brakes. Lucky no one was hurt. Well not true I am very shaken up and my baby was screaming. The drive keeps going after I have stopped and after following him to the freeway honking my horn he pulls over. I only had minor scratches but I asked him why he would take offf. all he did was try to intimidate me and swear at me then got back in his truck and left. He seemed to be towing someones car at the time. more

My car was towed by this company in a parking lot with contradicting signs and faded lines on the pavement. I would never willingly park in a no parking area. I have never been towed before. The main complaint is the excessive fee of $359 to get my car out, and then the requirement of paying with cash only. It is 11:30 PM and the lot is way out of town. I did not have that much cash, who does?? I did not have a way to get to the lot, and my asthma meds are in my car. I can not be without them. (Also, I am just visiting Gresham for the weekend) The tow truck driver said he was doing me a favor my letting me get my car that night. I asked why they charged me such a outrageous fee, and he said to look at it like a accident that I just had. I chose to look at it like I had been robbed. I suppose all this will change with the new ordinance passed by the Gresham City Council. It is cracking down on overcharging and predatory practices by towing companies. It is too late for me I guess. Also, they make you put at least one star to publish the review. This business does not deserve any stars!!! more

The other reviewer (Rydm) on here has said almost exactly what has happened to me aside from the situation that has happened to them with the keys to their car!!! Cons: TOO EXPENSIVE, thiefs 2 all extemes and just about everthing more

I was unlucky enough to have my car impounded by Gresham Towing recently, and I feel compelled to warn others about their incredibly overcharged and unprofessional service. What was originally estimated to be approximately $200 for them to tow my vehicle 6 miles and store it in their ""secure"" lot for less than 38 hours ended up being over $400. To be fair, when asked about the charges, Gresham Towing claimed that the rates were dictated to them by the Oregon State Police (who had ordered the vehicle impounded in the first place), yet could or would not produce any documentation to that effect. Charges notwithstanding, the real kicker came when I went to claim my vehicle at 9:00 am Monday morning. By 9:09 am I had paid the charges and was taken to where they had stored my car only to find that not only was the vehicle unlocked, but the keys were not even on the premises. In fact, for some unknown reason, the driver of the tow truck had my keys in his possession off site. I had to wait an additional 35 minutes for him to bring them from home. When asked why my keys weren't left in my car, I was told they remove them from the vehicles so the vehicles could be locked up, and that they store the keys in the office for ""security reasons"". That's all well and good, but it didn't explain why my car was unlocked and the keys were ""elsewhere"". Over the years I have had some experience with various local towing agencies and the impound process. Not only was Gresham Towing by far the most expensive to date, none of the others ever ""misplaced"" my keys. Even giving them the benefit of the doubt concerning the rates they charged me, the inconvienence of having to wait over a half-hour for them to produce my keys was incredibly unprofessional in my opinion. more
