Greenville Hardware

Greenville Hardware in Greenville, RI has been giving me the run around. I brought in something to get repaired. Originally, I was told that the turn around time was 1 week, unless a part was needed. Nothing was ever said about 1 week unless we have a lot to do before we get yours, etc. It's been 6 days since they have had my snowblower to repair, and not even a call to say what's wrong with it, how much it's going to cost, etc. I called on a Wed and the guy who fixes them is off on Wed. Then I called Thurs morning around 11 a.m. and he wasn't in yet due to the weather, which I do understand. They couldn't tell me when he would get there. I called at 4:30 and he leaves promptly at 4:00. Overall, I like to support local businesses, but not if they give you the run around and tell you what you want to hear even though it's not reality. They have my snowblower to fix so not going to get it to bring elsewhere at this point, but would think twice about ever bringing anything back here again. more

One star is too high. Rentals tried to charge me $30 for re-fueling, I knew I had refilled the equipment. Called them on it and they refunded me, meanwhile the staff there treats you like they are doing you a favor by letting you shop in their store. Called to complain to the manager and get a lecture rather than a resolution, oh yeah he even told me about how I can do the checking for John in rentals next time, then proceeded to tell me about him renting planes. Obviously he could care less about the customers, I'll shop somewhere else and not recommend Grenville hardware to anyone. BTW not the only problem there just one of a few. Cons: supposed to be local, treat you worse than a big box store more

This is the best hardware store in Northwest Rhode Island. The people are always friendly and more than willing to help. They carry my large items to my car without me even asking. The prices are competitive with Home Depot and they are always willing to order an item if they don't have it. more

I agree with the first review, very helpful service. I am restoring a house to the 1600's look and needed help with original color paint and shades. I was and continue to be completely satisfied. more
