My fiancee and I recently had a tasting with Thao as we were looking to secure a caterer for our upcoming wedding. We were thoroughly impressed by the dishes she prepared, her personality, and passion for the job...we hired her on the spot. Extremely knowledgable, answered questions perfectly, and she has been a pleasure to work with. Green Mangos was the 4th caterer we met with; the food was head and shoulders above the rest and represented excellent value for money. more

Fine Dining at Home 2/7/2014

We just attended a private Valentine's 6 course tasting menu dinner catered by Green Mangos, Chef Thao. Dishes ranged fron Brie de Francais en Feuillete, Tuna tartare, Poached lobster, and Seared shrimp with ginger syrup and butternut squash puree. This is fine dining at it's best! My husband and I skipped our dinner at Oceanaire, thinking we would be disappointed. The experience more than exceeded our expectation! The staff was very friendly and professional. The food was phenomenal! I've never tasted anything like the poached lobster with garlic ginger sauce and pea shoots. If you're looking to woo your guests for a wedding, private party, this is the company to hire! more

We recently hired Green Mangos to cater our company holiday party (for 85 people) - which was held in my home. We spent a lot of time on menu options, and the results were fantastic. They made sure that my staff had a great time! The food was ""remarkable"" in the true sense of the word - our employees were talking about it for days after the party. The Green Mangos team came to our house about 3 hours before the party, did all the setup, cooked fresh food on-site, served, tended the bar, and made absolutely certain that everyone had a great time. As the host, I pretty much just had to show up... but one of the best things was that when they left, my kitchen was cleaner than when they arrived! I honestly can't recommend Thao, Tom and their wonderful staff enough! more

I hired Thao and Green Mangos Catering for my daughter's wedding. When I asked my daughter and son in law what ONE thing did they each really want at their wedding, my son in law said, ""Great food."" Having tasted Thao's food at several different events, I knew she was the right caterer to hire for the wedding. She did NOT disaapoint us. The food was absolutely fantastic. The guests were pleased; the bride and groom were thrilled and I was happy. The way she blends herbs and spices is amazing. It truly is a treat to eat food prepared by Thao and her Green Mango Catering staff. more

My husband and I had Green Mangos do the food for our wedding, and everything was phenomenal. The initial tasting was cute and well-planned, and the wedding food planning was so easy. Thao was an absolute pleasure to work with and she attended to every detail and special request, including vegan meals and kids meals. We had a plated dinner at the wedding, as well as butler-passed appetizers, a non-alcoholic beverage bar, and a root beer float bar. The service was exceptional, all of the servers were friendly, helpful, and appropriate. The food was excellent, and they did a great job on the root beer floats, which were really a hit. We could not have made a better choice. Thank you! more

They were prompt, courteous, and willing to do whatever we needed to make our evening special. \r \r Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic food that was prepared. Thao and her husband Tom are absolutely phenomenal!! We had Green Mangos do our catering at the James J. Hill Reference Library for our July 20th wedding. I received and am still receiving compliments of how amazing the food was at our reception. I filled out contact information on their website and a couple of hours later Thao contacted me right away. \r \r My fiancé and I were unsure about what we wanted to do for our reception, but from our first meeting Thao helped and guided us through every step of the way! I loved how they were able to create anything that we wanted. I also loved how our food wasn't your typical reception food. I wanted to create a mix of our families heritage we had an Italian Asian fusion buffet with Indonesian Platter (seasonal vegetables, Asian chips, and apples), Jasmine Rice, Shrimp Thai Curry, Linguine Bolognese, and Chili garlic noodles for vegetarians! Everyone that I talked to said that are wedding, reception, and food represented us! That is exactly what we wanted! We didn't want something cookie cutter we wanted us! \r \r Thao, Tom, and Green Mango Staff go above and beyond any expectation my fiancé and I had! Everyone was so professional and organized I could not have asked for a more exceptional catering company! I truly believe that this is one of the best catering companies in the Twin Cities. It was the perfect day with the perfect food!! If we had to do it all over again we wouldn't change a thing!! \r more

I had a wonderful experience with Green Mangos Catering for my wedding at the James. J. Hill Library in St. Paul, MN. I highly recommend them and their food! First, and most importantly I think, I know that guests were so happy with the food they were served. I had so many people come up to me on the day of the wedding and even the next day and tell me how wonderful the food was. Hearing the food was so good was really, really nice. more

Wonderful service and beautiful and delicious food! Thao and her team made our event wonderful. On your wedding day, you hope to have people who make your day stress free. That's what Green Mangos did for us. I was so busy and Green Mangos made sure the food was ready and service started exactly when it needed to. I had guest coming up to me saying how great the food was. Our hors d'oeuvres reception was fun, yummy and made the event more of a party rather than a sit-down reception. The best wedding ever! 8/30/2011

My fiancee and I hired Green Mangos Catering for our reception. The event was literally a work of art. From the impeccable service to the incredible food and beautiful presentation, we couldn't have imagined how well this could have gone! Our guests still rave about the food. The planning was stressful to say the least. We ended up not using our event planner and worked with Chef Thao on all the details. She took care of all the details. The food is still a lingering memory! more

Great food, easy to work with 5/5/2011

Green Mangoes catered our wedding reception for 100 people last August. She was a delight to work with. We loved her lentil salad, coconut curry vegetables, and chicken and curry kebabs! The food was fresh and delicious, her staff was friendly yet efficient. They even provided labels for the additional dishes that some guests brought. Planning was easy and clear negotiations, and she came ahead of time to plan out the space usage, a great help to us. Clean up was excellent. I?d happily hire Thao again for another event. more

Should have called Green Mangos first! 4/24/2011

I have to admit, Green Mangos Catering was not the first caterer we called. We randomly called several other caterers for our large corporate event. We were shocked by these other caterers' lack of response and lack of enthusiasm. One caterer was over our budget by almost 50%. Another caterer took a month to respond to our initial call. The third caterer assumed he got the job and when he found out we were still getting other bids, never called us back. We decided to start the whole process over and this time called Green Mangos Catering. more

Elegent Private Dining 2/12/2011

A great time was had for Valentine's Day Weekend. The Coconut Curry Vegetables were delightfully prepared and full of flavor and paired well with the Castillero del Diablo Wine. The Rack of lamb was prepared well and full of flavor with a nice addition of a cherry preserve reduction. more

Amazing food and wonderful service 1/26/2011

We hired them for a dessert reception for 375 people. We had a pretty small menu- cake, eclaires, mini cheesecakes and coffee and punch. It was all incredible. Chocolate cake with buttercream icing as well as Vanilla cake with buttercream. They were both to-die-for. Some vaniall cakes are just that, plain, but this was amazing. Thao and her group were great to work with and totally on the ball. Highly recommended. more

Outstanding Service & Delicious Food 1/10/2011

Green Mangos Catering catered my wedding reception for over 200 guests in July of 2010. The service was absolutely outstanding. For example, the owner personally brought drinks to my husband and me so we did not have to wait in line at the bar. The food was heavenly, and many of our guests commented on how upscale, delicious, and flavorful the dishes were... Not your typical wedding meal! Thao was a joy to work with from start to finish. She understood that taste, presentation, and budget were all key factors when putting this meal together. I rarely consider any vendor deserving of a perfect 5 star rating, but Green Mangos delivered exactly that for me. more
