Does anyone know if this company is out of business? I paid for a crib and have not received it and both phone numbers on their website say they have been disconnected. Any info would be greatly appreciated. more

Needle in a Haystack 1/22/2012

This store is Amazing. I have discovered it by accident as it is a small privately owned business and just that alone I find appealing. The store offers everything from Organic baby care products (shampoo, soap, diaper cream, cotton wipes etc..). I was extremely surprised at just how clean, organic and natural their products were as I'm a label reader. The young lady behind the register was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions with a smile. I was not in the market for a new mattress but the information I received about the toxic chemicals (fire retardants) that are in our conventional mattresses has truly opened my eyes and after doing more research I could not believe just how right and knowledgeable the employee was on how toxic mattresses can be. This store is truly like a needle in a haystack. Its a one of a kind and the only store I know that carries all 100% certified organic products. Anyone interested in organic products will truly appreciate the store, staff and owners for their dedication in staying organic and education their customers. more

No more back pain!,, 3/27/2011

I am so thankful I found this store. A little over a year ago my fiancé and I bought an organic mattress and bedframe. The sales person was super helpful, informed and patient. He gave us a good price and helped us make the many fabric and wood choices. Most importantly....I don't have back pain anymore!!! For the longest time I had constant back pain. I was getting adjusted, massaged, taking pain killers. Nothing worked! Now thanks to the mattress I bought here my pain is gone. I couldn't be happier!!! Thanks Green Cradle!!! more

Greencradle's Response To Savvy Shopper Dishonest Review 11/28/2010

As owners of the Greencradle, we have spent the last five years building this family-owned company from scratch with the goal of providing people with genuine organic products in a sea of fraudulent organic claims. As business-owners and parents of small children ourselves, this store and what it stands for is very important to us. This sort of review is simply unethical to post, and this poster indeed threatened to put up this negative review if we didn't agree to his extortionist and unreasonable demands for essentially a free crib. \r \r I personally helped the poster, and the facts he has represented are untrue. The poster and his wife came into the store looking for a specific crib they had found online. They not only knew the maker of the crib, but were price-shopping. I quoted them a price for the floor model at below retail price. (Quite obviously, this was the lowest price the poster had found for this solid wood, American-made, chemical free crib, as evidenced by the fact that he admits that he indeed came back to try to BUY IT in the end!!! ) As set as his wife was on buying this crib, the poster neither bought it, nor even put down a deposit on it. Instead the couple left. \r \r The poster then came back a WEEK later and tried to bargain again on the price. He now claimed that the crib was in horrible condition, so we should sell it to him for basically nothing. He also insisted that we should deliver it to his house for free, because he was doing us a favor by taking the crib off our hands. He was rude and disrespectful. Quite obviously, the crib was in good condition, as he wanted to place his newborn baby in it. As we could not meet his unreasonable demands, we declined his offer. He left.\r \r The couple then came back a few days later and tried to bargain yet again. We offered to take an additional $10 off the crib to appease them, but the poster refused. The next day another customer came in and bought the floor model. \r \r When the poster returned in the following days, he AGAIN attempted to bargain on the price of the crib for a FOURTH TIME, but was told that the crib had already been sold. He was furious, insisting we had no right to sell the crib to anyone else, even though he had neither agreed to the price or delivery costs, nor put down a deposit on the crib, (nor even so much as provided his name or phone number). \r \r He then threatened us, saying that if we did not provide him with a brand NEW crib for the same floor model cost (plus free delivery), he would post a negative review of our store online. No one has the right to abuse the hard-earned reputation of a business that has spent the last five years pursuing an ethical business model. \r more

Avoid if you don't want to be defrauded or offended 10/31/2010

When shopping for a crib for our baby, we wandered into small and poorly stocked store, but the thought of getting an environmentally clean crib appealed to us. We were offered a floor model at a discount. When asked whether they would be able to check if the crib is fully functional, the store, from what we understood, owner assured us the crib was fine. It was quite a bit worn and dusty, but with the discount we decided to wash the crib as the brand they claimed the crib was is well known for its quality. When examining the crib, we could not locate any sign of the brand it was claimed. We asked if any documentation of the brand would be evident, but the ""owner: assured us that all the cribs by this organic crib brand do not have any brand signs or documentation. We are pressed for time so we decided to buy it. The ""owner"" and us agreed on the price and we were to come back the next day to get the crib (which was quite pricey, much more than most cribs out there). When we arrived the next day, we were ready to buy the crib and since buying it as is without a warranty, we did not want it taken apart as it was assembled on the floor. The store owner offered us a delivery to our location less than 2 miles away from store at $75. We were quite taken aback--after all we were paying top dollar for a no warranty store model of the crib. In a few minutes another person claiming to be the owner called the store and informed us that this crib, which we made the deal on a day before, was already sold a week ago. He refused to give his name or the name of the other ""owner"", claiming that he has no idea who we are and there are no other owners of the store. If you don't want to be ripped off, lied to, and abused try some other store--there is plenty of organic baby furniture stores in the neighbourhood more
